This is an order at the front and then sit down restaurant. I have two basic menus seafood, and regular Mexican food. I ordered the chili Relleno plate which also has a shredded beef taco and refried beans and rice, and I also ordered a tamale on the side. And I never forget to have a Cerveza, corona extra in this case. Beer always goes good with a Mexican meal. They brought chips and salsa three different types to our table. I tasted the food first and found it a little bit bland, which is kind of unusual for Mexican food, butI haven't eaten here before. I like the refried beans. The rice is also just pretty much rice with a little bit of red colored to it. The sauces were pretty much the same kind of bland, but there was one that had a little bit of kick to it. If I was to order here again, I would order a lot of sauces on the side so I could just dump them on top of my food as I like some spicy Mexican food and not kind of bland food. Don't get me wrong. The food is good, just doesn't taste like my normal Mexican meal, which has a little bit of a spice to it. The chili Relleno had lots of cheese, but like the rest of them all it was a bit bland. Maybe they have spicy versions of all their food I never asked. If you're worrying about heartburn and the rest of that kind of stuff then this is the place you'd like to eat because the food is good, there's no spice unless you add it. read more

Hello I love this environment and I tried the breakfast burrito amazing taste just like my favorite taco shop back in my home town. the green salsa is immaculate it's got that good taste but not to spicy. The horchata huge for 4$! Overall great taste the best part is the cheap prices as well I live down the street and I've been searching for a taco shop this is now my go to. Yes a taco shop that still gives free chips for dine in!! I like that they used seasoned fries for their carne asada fries! Their rolled tacos are great. Their salsa is on the mild side but flavorful. Their salsa verde is excellent. I like that they give large cups for me to fill up for water which is very convenient rather than getting up repeatedly. Your average taco shop that will satisfy cravings. Price was average for most taco shops now a day. read more

Amazing chiles rellenos, horrible beef stew which was so bland that it tasted like it was just water added to some beef and veggies. The Mexican rice was very delicious and I was sad to see they don't have street tacos (normally sized) instead of the rather large ones that I wasn't in the mood for. For sure will return! read more

I stopped in for some rolled tacos, rice & beans. The rolled tacos were good, but the rice & beans would keep me coming back. The beans have a good flavor & a nice consistency. I like the rice because it is a mild Spanish flavor with nothing added to it. I would like to try a breakfast burrito served all day. The rolled tacos had guacamole and cheese on them. They are not overly big, but filled me. They do have bottled beer & cans of soda. It is very casual & you walk up to the counter to order. This place is always pretty good. They're generally fast and you can call your order in on the way. The food is decent. I haven't discovered any mind boggling new flavors or anything but you'll feel satisfied and with an average/above average meal. The staff is friendly enough and prices are reasonable. Nothing spectacular, but far from the worst Mexican food in the county. I'd say upper 80%. read more

She wanted to charge me $20 for 12 rolled tacos, she explained that she was charging me 4 x 3 rolled taco price. When I got back to my cousin's house, I told her, I just found my first favorite Mexican spot in my soon to be new neighborhood! 1 shredded beef crispy taco w/ sour cream 1 bean & cheese burrito Salsa roja Salsa verde Beef was delicious, well seasoned. This has been our go to absolute favorite Mexican food for 10+ years which is why it saddens me to write that it will be awhile before I return after tonight's dinner. Our bill for our family of 4 was $72 and the quality was very poor. The guacamole was slightly brown, carne asada meat had a reheated taste, and the cheese enchiladas were dried out. Food: We have been here a few times now and I am just now getting around to their review. This place is our new favorite local taco shop. My wife LOVES the chili relleno burrito. I especially like that you can get a ceviche tostada and single chili relleno, which is something I cannot seem to find elsewhere. The ceviche is the bomb, perfectly seasoned and cheap too! Their carne asada is also really good. We have tried lots of stuff from here and it, so far, seems all really good. Also, the salsas they give you are in LARGE plastic containers, so I don't feel so bad getting a few of these as opposed to twice as many small ones (I don't like so much trash!) Atmosphere: They are limiting seating inside due to COVID, so that is nice to see. Everyone is wearing masks. They have a large open area too, so when things "go back to normal" I am sure they will get filled up. Bathrooms for patrons only though... Service: No complaints, the servers are always friendly. We have never sat inside and had a "server" so I can't comment on that. Price: They are actually pretty cheap, as far as taco shops. We have noticed that many shops are raising their prices a little. It sucks, but whatever. Still, a solid meal for 4 will run you about $30. Overall I feel the amount of food you get for the price is pretty solid. Overall: This is our new "go-to" place near we live. 3.5 stars East County and "good taco shops" are like Bigfoot. They don't exist.....or do they? Every once in awhile there is a sighting. Today was one of those days. I woke up and felt like a burrito so I decided to come down here and try this place out. Being my first time here, I placed my typical order....California Burrito and a Beef Taco. My total came out to $8.80. I paid the man my money and then filled up on some salsa. Big props on the size of the salsa containers. I got some red and some green. My order was ready and I grabbed my bag and drove home. Here is how the food stacked up. Salsas- Red and Green. They give you huge cups to fill up but unfortunately neither one of them were any good. Too watery/oily and not enough flavor. Meh. Beef Taco- This thing looked ok but I could tell right away that it was going to be greasy as hell. The tortilla and paper it was wrapped in were pretty "glossy" from the grease. They top this thing with lettuce and 2 types of cheese. A cheddar and a cotija type cheese. The cotija was a little different...not exactly sure what it was. It had some red flecks in it? I dont know if it was chile powder or if the cook had something on his hands and reached in the bowl of cotija and some of that red stuff came off? It didn't taste bad or anything, just looked a little weird. I ate the whole taco but was not impressed and would not get one again. California Burrito- Hell to the yes! Probably the best CA burrito I have found in East County. Previous contenders were Emmas and Sombreros. This one was WAY better than those. This thing was stuffed with carne asada, french fries, cheese, sour cream and guacamole. First bite in, I knew it was going to be great. The carne asada was cooked perfect, the fries were decently crisp, there was plenty of cheese and it was layered nicely with sour cream and guacamole. I found no gristle at all throughout the whole burrito. The only thing I did notice was that the carne asada was a tad salty. I would much rather have it a little too salty rather than have no seasoning on the meat at all like at some places. This burrito was really really good and it falls in the top 5 CA burritos in SD IMO. Its only about 10 minutes or so away from my house too! If I have a strong craving, it is closer to come here than it is to my other favorite sports in Kearny Mesa. I will definitely come back for another CA burrito! read more
