I don't know what the first reviewer was referring to well stocked and always clean. At La Placita II, the aisles are so narrow. They get me claustrophobia when I try to find something specific in the store.
Maybe the design of store discourages shoppers to really come to shop. Of course, it's well stocked visually. There ain't any floor space left to be messy. It gave you an illusion of "always clean".
I often come here to find odd things that CVS and El Ahorro Supermercado don't normally stock. I didn't want to go all the way to HEB for one or two items. Like Mexican onions, ammonia, Mexican candies and chicharron.
I consider La Placita as a time-saving convenient store. Because it has a tiny meat market, fully functional taqueria, small produce stand and simple merchandise market.
Taqueria is always hiring people. That's kind of sad because the service is not consistent. When I first moved here, I came here for menudo on Sundays. Until one day, the soup was filled with bones, not meat. I had no one to complain to because there isn't anyone in charge.
