The pizza of La Pizz is really the worst one I have had in a long time. The crust was the worst part of the pizza. I am assuming they use frozen crust and nor sure if they bake it in pizza oven. Most likely they use salamander broiler to melt the cheese and voila you've got your frozen crust, testless sauce and melted cheese on top "pizza". Also we ordered pasta with chicken. We had a terrible experience here. We arrived close to 6:30, and there were plenty of tables. The manager seated us, and we had a waiter whom he appeared to be supervising. The waiter was wonderful, and very kind about the fact that most of us didn't speak French. I do speak some French, so tried my best. When I ordered a salad, I asked (in French) for them to leave the nuts off, as I am allergic. He indicated that he understood. When the food arrived, first I was given a different salad than what I had ordered, but it was quickly replaced with the salad I had ordered. This was not a problem, but my salad had nuts on it. We called the manager over, as he was nearby, and explained that I could not eat nuts. He became very indignant, stating that it was written on the menu. He essentially scolded me in French, somewhat loudly and aggressively. I said that I had asked for no nuts, and had said I was allergic, when I ordered. I was very upset by the way he spoke to me. The waiter returned and apologized, saying it was his fault, and he had forgotten to state that when he put the order in. He was very, very nice. I told him that wasn't a problem, and I was just upset about the way the other man had spoken to me. I really didn't want to be the ugly American, but I was very upset by how the manager had spoken to me. I felt I had ordered clearly, the waiter had admitted his error, and the manager had scolded me anyway. I ended up leaving, as I had lost my appetite. I had been there with my family, so I left them there to finish and pay. I am told my husband confronted the manager and asked for an apology. It sounds as if it did get ugly. Eventually he manager did apparently apologize, but the whole experience was just awful. We are trying to not let it color our view of Quebec, but I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone eat there. read more

The only reason they get 2 stars is because their food was good. If we put the food aside for a second the service was TERRIBLE !! we've waiting ~1 hour for our pizza to be served!! While we were sitting a piece of snow fell on us from the roof (I guess I melted) and caused almost half of our warm wine to get cold (pieces of snow got into the glass), I know it's not their fault but I would kind of expect them to offer me a new glass of wine... But nothing they just took the glass of wine with the piece of snow and that's it!! To summarize - good food the worst service ever, I won't be back for sure ! read more

This place is terrible. They really don't want to work or do business. On a recent trip to QC, I stopped by while it was raining and asked if I could sit on the patio, with my dog, and have a couple beers and use the wifi. Although not a soul was on the patio, as it was raining, the manager who was SMOKING, refused to let me in with my dog, on the patio. My dog is a hypoallergenic, non shedding Labradoodle, who is trained a a service animal, has been inside Major League Baseball stadiums, Las Vegas Casinos, and actually flies commercial airlines with me in his own seat!! The rude manager, who again was smoking a cigarette, was obstinate. He is one of those business men that would rather say "NO" than make some money for himself or his waitresses. How can you do business like this asshole in 2015? Don't go to this place. Anyplace run by a total idiot probably has food as bad as it's service. When NO ONE is dining there, you need to find a way to say "YES" to business rather than "NO." He needs to go to work at a post office instead where that is the culture. La Pizz is a cute little Italian restaurant right at the heart of Place Royale Quebec. There are many outdoor and indoor seatings with nice decor. Staffs are extremely helpful and friendly, they are also very attentive and welcoming. I and my friend had a great time there and my waitress was more than willing to answer my questions about places to visit around Old Quebec. One plus point is they don't sell any artificial products (we asked for ketchup and they said they only have organic tomato sauce instead ). Prices were very reasonable and foods were high quality! Looking for authentic pizza in the heart of old town Quebec City?? Look no further! We were able to snag a seat on the patio, which gave way to a great ambiance. The pizza itself is to die for! I had a salmon, caper and prawn pizza and at first, was a bit skeptical of the combination but I was pleasantly surprised. Talk about a treat for the taste buds! I now catch myself craving it. The only downside is the service is a tad slow (this is by American standards and may not be thought of the same by others). But hey, great pizza takes time, so just be sure to keep that in mind. read more

Reasonable price for the area. Above average food. Worth trying out, but it won't blow you away. Creme brulee was fantastic though! Pizza was ok. For those from the US, it has a bit of a Mexican pizza flavor, like a fiestada. Countryside salad was really good, but they ran out of chicken, so we got cubed ham instead. Not a fan of ham but the green were quality. Small establishment but they have 1 very large table for groups. Otherwise I'd keep it to 4 and below. read more

The place is really nice, clean, and quiet. The service was ok and food was good, perhaps a bit pricey for the quantity but I can understand given the attraction of the location. Really everything was going well until it was time to pay the bill. The waitress (Elodie) punched in the total on the machine and handed it over to me to pay with my card. I noticed the tipping amount had already been entered for me so I cancelled the transaction and told the waitress I'd like to enter the tip amount myself. The waitress nodded but repeated the process and entered the tip amount herself. I asked her why she was doing so, and she said this is the rule in this area and the tip percentage is fixed. I eventually paid as I had intended to tip her anyway but later on I found out the number she added was just the suggested tip and not really a rule anywhere. It really wasn't nice of her to do that. It's quite deceitful and disgusting behavior that ruins the entire experience. She might have secured her tip but she definitely cost the restaurant this customer. read more

We visited La Pizz on our first night in Quebec City and very much enjoyed our first meal. La Pizz has a beautiful outdoor area that overlooks Old Quebec City, it is great for people watching during dinner! We started our meal with a bottle of wine (a decent Rose) and the Caprese Salad, which was very fresh. We shared pizza with merguez (tastes like a hybrid of sausage and chorizo) and it was delicious! Not the best pizza I ever had but not terrible either. Location and service was good. We visited on Xmas night because every other option we had was full and we didn't have reservations. So it saved the night. If you find yourself in the area and you have no other option and are not too picky about food, or you are just lazy and don't want to leave the area while you shop, this place is good enough, you won't hate it and they will treat you well. This place was great! The waiter was courteous and attentive (such a nice change from other local places), the outdoor seating under the umbrellas was lovely, the Greek salad was fresh and flavorful and featured well chosen herbs, the gazpacho was the same, the penne with tomato sauce was spicy delicious and beautifully cooked to very tasty perfection-- best straight up penne dish I've ever had.
