El Relleno Chile con una agua de Jamaica.
    Jon H.

Food is alistar! After reading reviews, I went with the chile relleno plate with rice and black beans. Comes with deliciously cooked and spiced veggies too. Definitely a homemade chile relleno (unlike some places that do the frozen chiles). I also got a single enchilada con mole to try the Oaxaca mole and it was out of this world good! Must try. I talked with the owner who provided great service and was super kind and honest. Ambience was nice with a beautiful mural celebrating "La pizca" which is the harvest of crops. Please come here and try everything! So worth it.

    Quesadilla as described

Just passing through town, and Yelp came through for us again! Everything was truly delicious and tasted wonderfully authentic. It reminded me of the first real restaurant meal I had in Mexico. The ingredients were fresh, vibrant, and perfectly seasoned, with plenty of vegetables--not just meat and cheese! (Although the meat and cheese were fantastic too!) The quesadilla description sounded amazing, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. My wife had the plated pork tamale with red sauce, served with seasoned sautéed vegetables, rice, and beans. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, the flavors were rich without being heavy, and the tamale had the perfect texture. Freshly made chips (yum!) and house salsa arrived at the table and were happily refilled when we asked. The service was warm and welcoming, and the owner even stopped by to check on us, which was a nice touch. We're sad we probably won't have the chance to come back, but if you're anywhere nearby, don't hesitate to stop in. Highly, highly recommended!

    Wet burrito with mole

Incredible homemade flavors at this gourmet Mexican restaurant with a humble atmosphere. I got the burrito wet with Mole sauce and added carnitas. The Mole is so fresh and out of this world. It had crisp vegetables (onions, zucchini, and sweet potato and black beans). My only complaint is I like my vegetables and beans softer and cooked more. We also got the cheese enchiladas with green sauce and added sea bass. The chips and salsa to start were amazing. We had trouble figuring out that the sauce had charred fresh peppers to give it a smoky taste. I want to come back and try the chili relleno next time. The owner was so nice telling us his history of starting a small coffee shop in SLO before opening this place in the spring.

Food was delicious with lots of flavor. Got the chile relleno plate with shrimp. Service was very friendly. Chips tasted homemade. Everyone in our group loved their food.

I saw this place on Nextdoor and it had good reviews so thought we would try it. I agree with some of the comments where is everybody? The chips were fresh and we ate all of them and she brought us more. Normally I'd never keep eating chips, but they were good. They have miscellaneous salsa you can choose from. The food is good and fresh freshly made. They were out of Carnitas except for the taquitos. So my husband and I each had the taquitos cause we wanted Carnitas. They had a little bit of avocado sauce and sour cream sauce would've liked a little bit more. Not a very big menu, some of the specials looked good with steak tacos, etc. Everybody was very friendly and of course, since it wasn't crowded, we didn't have any issues ordering. They had the beers we liked. My husband had a Pacifico and I had a corona. We will be back, I just hope they get a little bit bigger menu and not run out of Carnitas. Oh the place is large very non-descriptive. It reminded me of someplace else we've been to just like it.

    Oaxacan chicken wings

Really enjoyed dropping in for lunch at La Pizca. We started with the Oaxaca chicken wings, which were crispy, juicy, and had a great Oaxacan spice blend. For my main, I went with the wet blackened shrimp burrito. The shrimp was seasoned perfectly, and it was packed with some really delicious veggies that added a great fresh element. Smothering it in their sauce made it even better. The service was excellent during our afternoon visit. We actually got to meet the chef, who was very kind, welcoming, and clearly puts a lot of care into the food (they also run Corazón Café in SLO). It's a great spot with wonderful people, and I'll definitely be back.

    ckn tamales TO GO*

WOW~ New in town since feb. '26, and doing a great job of preparing highly seasoned and flavorful meat for all their dishes. The tamales are my favorites, (chucked full of tender chicken) around town, served with sour cream and salsa Verde. The manager is on site and pitching in-- even on Sunday afternoon! THE SPACE IS HUGE with live entainment or happy house music; I felt i was down in Puerto Vallarta!!! beers, wine and hibiscus tea available.

Got the Birria Burrito wet with red sauce. One of the best burritos I've had! Restaurant is clean, with friendly service and great food. HIGHLY recommend.

Highly recommend if you're feeling like amazing Mexican/latin American food! The homemade tortillas are amazing and listening to the owners story about how he perfected the recipe was super interesting. You can tell he truly cares about his product and customers! I had the mole enchiladas with chicken and my fiancé had the birria burrito (wet) -it even had delicious veggies in it! The flavors were truly unique and nothing like I've ever had before ( in a good way ). Prices are fair and service is great! Try it out if you're in the area!

Food: I had the Giant Taco with Birria, Black Beans and Rice, and Chips and salsa. Everything was fresh, made from scratch, and super flavorful. Huge portions. The physical menu is fairly small, however the chef showed me an expanded menu on his phone. Service: Everyone was really friendly and helpful! Ambiance: The restaurant has a large, open space, with many tables. Everything was clean. I can definitely see myself being a regular here. Next I plan on trying their breakfast.

While exploring the nearby businesses of the hotel we were staying at, we decided to stop for an early dinner. The place looked quiet, and even though there were very few patrons, we had a short wait before being seated. (This was the first red flag) The restaurant is structured nicely with an open facing entryway to the street, allowing the sun and breeze to flow. The problem, is that it was difficult to admire the interior of the restaurant without ignoring the noticeable spiderwebs and cobwebs in the ceiling and rafters. If I can see them, then I know they can see them. They do however, have very nice indoor and outdoor patio seating, with several tv's throughout. We were served complimentary chips and salsa shortly after we were seated. The chips were light and crispy. The salsa? Awful. Very thin and runny, with absolutely no flavor. We had to have waited a good ten minutes or so before our drink order was taken. Upon taking our drink order, I also placed an order for chips & guacamole. Our waitress was friendly, but curt. After tasting the salsa I chose to play it safe and went with the chile verde enchiladas, and my wife went with the combo plate with a chicken taco and enchilada. By the time we placed our second drink order it was blatantly obvious that our waitress had completely forgotten about our order of chips and guacamole, which was confirmed when our meal arrived. I will say that the margaritas were outstanding, maybe one of the best I've had. To my surprise, the chile verde enchiladas were actually really good. Nice texture, good flavor. The rice was bland and flavorless, and I'm convinced that the black beans were straight from a can. Lacking both flavor and/or seasoning (They weren't even hot) and equally plain. My wife's meal wasn't any better. The chicken was super dry served on a sad and raw tortilla. The beans...disgusting slop. If I had any doubts about whether MY beans were canned, I had absolutely no doubt about hers. These beans were so undoubtedly canned I'm surprised they didn't still have the impression of the tin can on them. No seasoning, no flavor, and lukewarm at best. Enough is enough. I couldn't wait to pay my tab and make a swift exit.
