Their Grande Burrito Wet ($15.29) is HUGE and is my husband's "favorite that he's found" here (and we've tried many), and they are my go to when I'm hankering for Chile Relleno. Decided to try this place after seeing a local influencer do a food review on social media. Trying to join in on helping out a local business that is struggling we decided to order lunch. I had never been even though I have lived here my entire life. We ordered the Carnitas BIG wet burrito and a 2 crunchy taco lunch special. The food was not bad it satisfied the craving of this style of Mexican food. The issue is the over charging that happened. We had to do an over the phone order and pick it up as door dash was having issues which was not a problem at all. The issue is...On door dash our total was $31.08 with tax. When we picked the total was $37 we paid and didn't say a word but that is a big difference and we assume door dash up's the price anyway so that is a big discrepancy. We couldn't even reference receipt as it wasn't itemized just the total. Sucks when you are trying to support locals to just see this happen not sure if its on purpose or if door dash is the one with cheaper prices then the restaurant but big enough reason for me not to go back. read more

We got seated and was served a good sized bowl of tortilla chips and salsa, the tortilla chips were thick, I wasn't liking the chips because at a restaurant I have eaten thinner chips, but I loved the salsa. I ordered Huevos Rancheros, and it was pretty good tasting eggs, rice and beans, I know that there were 2 corn tortillas on the bottom of the eggs, but I wished they would have offered 2 corn or flour tortillas with this order, but I give the restaurant 5 stars because of the customer service on our waitress taking care of the whole restaurant. read more

As we wander through the rows of shops here along the avenues; each one so colorful. The salty air invades our senses as we trekked. After making a few laps around this block and that block one builds and appetite up. Tacos are always something that fulfills the hunger call. As we walked in the restaurant the smells from the kitchen hit us. It's that feeling from the smells coming from the kitchen, "yeah this place will do just fine." Let's eat tacos. We were seated immediately at a great table overlooking boulevard with a huge picture window to enjoy the show outside while we dine in. The menu very simple to order. The authenticity of the restaurant was perfect indeed. The language barrier was a little difficult, luckily I can speak taco in all languages. As the waitress walked away she left complimentary chips and salsa. The mmmm now don't fill up too much on that chips and salsa, tacos are a coming. The chips and salsa are authentic . I can remember every dip too. We added with an up charge of five dollars fresh avocado. The avocado was fresh and made to order. Yum yum! Tacos loaded with extra extra cheese, fresh jalapeños, lettuce and guacamole. We have lunch here. All we wanted was tacos, so that is all we had in abundance. In no time that dozen tacos were at our table screaming for us to eat them. The tacos come simple with lots of shredded steak, lettuce, and cheese. The cheese is always the best part of Mexican food. Then you add some jalapeños and salsa. Now that we have been fed it's time to continue on our journey. Stop and pick the peppers once in awhile. Where ever the road takes you, take that left and explore where your are. We found this Mexican food joint out and about the journey of life. We are filling those pages with our spicy delicious eats that made our days even better. The road of life can end when and where you make it; but always remember tacos. read more

The service was friendly and although we were the only ones there it was comfortable and they have it nice and clean with nice plants and decor. I feel like people are missing out. This family business is run by a pleasant couple. The husband is the chef learned to cook in Zacatecas, Mexico. He charges for a second basket because the chips are the best hand-made chips I have ever had! the salsa is a delicious hand made mixture of hand chopped onions, garlic, tomato and cilantro. They were so good I bought some to go. I ordered the enchiladas suisas. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and moist., with homemade tomatillo green sauce. All the flavorful salsas tickled your tongue but didn't make your nose run. Classically delicious beans and rice. Cold lettuce on the side. For wine margaritas, they were good and the Corona in a chilled glass really hit the spot. I have not found better mexican food in Cambria, Cayucos or Morro Bay. The food here is decent, food temperature came out hot, but it lacked flavor. I've never add salt to my food when I'm at a restaurant, but I sure did need it for this place. Im from SoCal and the Mexican food there is much better then this area. It's really difficult finding the hidden Mexican food joint in this part of town. The food is always really phenomenal and the service hasn't changed since before they relocated from their previous location; which is STILL AMAZING! I remember when they opened here and it was only the small side! Then they were able to purchase the larger area now and it's just gorgeous! We have been coming and loving Jalapeños for over 12 years, and everytime my Beautiful Mom comes to town this is our favorite place to come and have lunch or dinner! We love the family that owns and runs this outstanding restaurant and I give you all great praise for the jobs that you ALL DO!! My favorite is the #4 Two cheese enchiladas with beans & rice, with a side of sour cream. My Beautiful Mom's favorite is (can't remember the #lol) the Chili Relleno, Chicken Taco with beans & rice. My Bestfriend Brian, his favorite is the Wet Cardne Asada Burrito, with no beans & no onions in the burrito. Yeah, they've gone downhill quite a bit. You have to pay for your second bowl of chips, which is fine, but "beef chimichanga" is an example of false advertising. Such a disappointment - perhaps one tablespoon of shredded beef was swimming in a sea of watered-down beans in the chimichanga. At least be honest and rename it "Refried Bean Chimichanga with a Hint of Beef." For a Saturday night, it was empty except for another couple, so I guess word has gotten out. Pretty sad, since this place used to rock! When will restaurant owners quit trying to skimp on everything - do they think the customers are too dumb to notice? Those watered-down beans and misrepresented main dishes are going to cost you more than you are saving in the long run. read more

We've been eating here every year since 2017 during our week at Jubilee by the Sea. Have always enjoyed the food and service. Just arrived today (no Jazz Festival) but came for the week anyway and stopped here for lunch. Both ordered the Lunch Special #10, two tacos, rice and beans $10.99. I liked mine, the wife thought hers lacked flavor. The bill came and it was for $13.49 each. I asked why we didn't get the Special price. The owner (wife) said you asked for #10 and showed me the menu, sure enough that is two tacos, beef or chicken for $13.49. The only problem was that I had the lunch menu in my hand when I ordered and pointed at #10 on it. I paid the bill as presented, gave a tip, and told her and her husband that little trick made them an extra $5 today but cost them at least $150 this week(in the past we've eaten with them 3-4 times in a week). It has also cost them in the future as she got mad and said in the future I should pay attention. There won't be any 'future' meals for us there. read more

After walking into this restaurant, my husband and I was waiting to be seated. There was only one other couple already seated and eating which was strange at this time of the day. Finally a woman comes out and seats us. My husband and I decided to share the 2 shredded beef tacos plate. When the food came out (literally in under 3 minutes) I took at bite and had to call the server over to ask if the meat was chicken or beef. She confirmed that it was beef. I told her that it was tasteless. She walked up to the register, and brought me the check (maybe she was thinking I wasn't going to pay???) . Lol Long story short, we paid the bill which was just over $14 for 2 bland tacos topped with 4 sheds of cheese and mostly lettuce. I honestly don't know how restaurants can proudly sell food like this. Imagine taking a chicken breast and boiling it in plain water until very dry. That's what this so-called "beef" tasted like.
