This is my favorite taco stand on this side of OKC. I have been coming here for almost 10 years and they have gotten better over the years.

    A burrito from La Piñata

I'm not a burrito lover but I wanted to review something new on my second trip to La Piñata food truck so I picked a Latin American staple. I ordered mine with steak and minus the green onions. It wouldn't be an understatement to say this was the best burrito I have ever eaten. I have eaten a few in my life, mostly fast food. This one taught me that burritos can be good, better than I have been settling for. The wrap was pleasantly browned and not gummy. The steak had flavor and a good texture as burrito filling. The rice added its flavor and texture to the burrito keeping it from the mushiness I have grown used to. Please note I am not a rice lover but found it worked in this offering. The other ingredients cooked onions, sour cream and cilantro added to the mix making it a pleasant lunch. (Truthfully, next time I will skip the cilantro... I am one who thinks it tastes like soap) the cilantro did no detract from the overall enjoyment. The service was fast and the knowledge that Oklahoma City can boast such a fine food truck made me satisfied with our culinary standing. Good Job La piñata.

When I travel to OKC this is the first place I visit. Best, authentic tacos. My favorite are the carnitas! I love the pickled veggies that come with it. When ordering lunch, you might want to call ahead. Thinking of those tacos now...

    Steak tacos minus onions

I'm pleasantly surprised with the food here! I've only tried a side of rice and the steak tacos because the tacos are so good, every time I go, I have to have them. The steak is chopped into small tiny pieces topped with fresh cilantro, chopped onions (I order it without onions though), a couple slices of spicy pickled carrots and radishes and a lime. The steak has a lot of flavor and a really nice texture. It isn't tough of stringy. Next time I go I'm going to see if I can order a lot of extra carrots and radishes. I haven't had any that delicious since my granny pickled them when I was a little girl. There were some other people eating burritos and tortas and they looked just as good as the tacos so I may have to give up my tacos one time to try something new. They don't take debit or credit cards so be sure to bring cash. They're open until 11pm through the week and on Friday and Saturday nights, they're open until 3am.

Torn between 3 and 4 stars. Got 1 pollo taco, 1 al pastor taco, and 1 asada mulita. Authentic style tacos with delicious meat, but I couldn't get over the grease spilling everywhere and ruining the tortilla... worth trying and decent price, I just couldn't believe the level of grease and oil getting everywhere.

Wow!!! I'm from California and been to ALOT of taco trucks in the Central Valley and LA, his place made me feel like I was at home by the great tacos and Jaritos. I will DEFINITELY go back before I go home.

Really great tacos! Very authentic, fresh, and hot. I suggest eating them there so that they stay nice and hot. The Asada and lengua tacos are my favorite. I tell them to add cheese. They have a 5 taco special.

Super authentic Mexican food right down to their salsa, pickled carrots and jalapeño. I definitely would recommend this food truck.

It arrived as this dramatic, beautifully constructed tower of mixed seafood topped with avocado and a whole shrimp--definitely a dish that makes an entrance. The seafood seemed fresh, but I discovered that this particular style of mixed mariscos just isn't for me. Some of the seafood had a gray, translucent appearance and texture that I personally didn't enjoy. That may simply be characteristic of the preparation rather than any problem with the dish. I only tried this one item, so I don't think it would be fair to judge the kitchen more broadly based on my personal preference. What I can comment on much more definitively is the noise. It was extraordinarily loud. I eventually pulled out my phone and measured the sound level because I genuinely wanted to know whether it was as loud as it felt. I recorded levels exceeding 100 dB, with peaks around 103 dB. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. Unfortunately, I could barely hear them. I enjoy energetic restaurants and certainly don't expect dinner to take place in a library. But there's a point where "lively atmosphere" becomes something prospective customers deserve to know about before deciding where to spend an evening. This crossed that line for me. If a very high-energy, extremely loud environment is your thing, you may have a completely different experience. If you're hoping to have a conversation over dinner without shouting across the table, I'd choose accordingly. Friendly staff, impressively presented food, and a seafood dish that simply wasn't my jam. But the volume overwhelmed everything else about the experience--and at 103 dB, that's not background music. That's the main course.
