Very nice Italian restaurant in the centre of this historic market town. But we found the food and staff great, and it was good value. Our three courses came to just over £32 a head, including service and drinks: whitebait and a bruschetta (very generously smothered with tomato and garlic) to start; Pizza San Guiseppe (mushrooms, ham, tomato and mozzarella) and Penne Primavera (tomato, garlic, peppers, aubergine, courgette and olives) for mains, and for dessert a Panna Cotta with caramel, and a "Gusto D'Italia" ice cream sundae with cherry ice cream, whipped cream, amaretti and flaked almonds. I highly recommend doing that, as every restaurant in town was booked up, and I think we probably got the last reservation here. It was packed! The chairs were super comfy though, the lighting was perfect for a date night, and I think that the owner (who's Italian) was our server. He really seemed to care. We started with the cheesy bread, which looked like a pizza without the sauce. It was soooo good. I then ordered the pasta bolognese and it was delicious. My husband had what he called the "best carbonara in a long time," so we left happy and so full. Thank you!
