Fantastic crepes for lunch. And excellent service. Cool vibe. Not rushed at all. Delightful French music playing.

I would say the prices are higher than average. The store itself is very bright and pretty. The top floor has a cafe with soups, sandwiches, baked goods, coffee, and the like. The sweet potato loaf $11 is delicious. The citrus salad is a generous portion. Can't remember how much it was, but around $18-19. We also had the chickpea daal, lime curd cookie $4, and a latte. They carry sourdough from Landed which are excellent $11.50. I would say their sweet treats are where they excel, and the savory foods are more okay but still good options. Something to watch out for is to ask about ingredients carefully. We spent at least 20 minutes asking about ingredients as the employees did not know, and was still ultimately served something my friend was allergic to. There are some wrinkles to iron out but I'm certain in a few months to a year this place would be great. I would come back again at that time.

I asked the gentlemen if they had that and he said no, I asked him where I could find it in town. He barked rudely "how would I know." OK. The second time I also could not find cows milk (they had seven kinds of nut milk - I am allergic to nuts). This time I asked the woman, she looked at me and literally turned her back on me. Twice is enough.

We were on our own for dinner on this particular Sunday night. We walked around downtown, taking in the sights while deciding where to eat dinner. Some acquaintances from our tour recommended this restaurant, and especially their margaritas. So, we started with some margaritas which, as recommended, were tasty. I got a Devil's Margarita (3.5 oz, CAD$13.00), while my husband chose a classic peach margarita (2.5 oz, CAD$12.50). Both margaritas featured Cazadores Blanco, triple sec, fresh lime juice, agave, and Tajin rim. Mine was topped with Cabernet-Sauvignon. For dinner, we chose to share Nachos (CAD$21), plus CAD$5 for an added protein (chicken). The nachos, which were on the Snack & Share Plates menu, consisted of Cold Snap corn tortilla chips, Monterey Jack cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, green peppers, black beans, onions, and tajin spice. They were served with sour cream and one's choice of salsa. There were seven choices of gluten free and made fresh salsas, ranging on the heat scale from pico de gallo (heat=1) to arbol chili hot sauce (heat= 9.5). We went with the pico de gallo in order to get the fresh tomatoes. While sufficiently large enough for us to share as our dinner, we were a bit disappointed with the Nachos. The main issue was that all of the toppings, except maybe the cheeses, were very scant. Overall, we had a good experience, and recommend La Cara. Our ratings for our experience are as follows. Margarita: 4/5. Nachos: 3/5. Service: 5/5. Our server, Shanshan J, was amazing -- very attentive and friendly. Ambiance: 3.5/5. The restaurant is casual and popular. Most of the tables were full during our visit.
