Our son is no longer attending, and we never enrolled our younger son. Recently relocated, we did not want to further disturb our son's schooling by moving again. We tried to make the best of the situation, however, we were met with constant frustration, lack of concern, and hostility. There was constant frustration due to the admin's inability to provide accurate information, and having difficulty remembering important conversations. For example, we were told class cameras would be set up during our tour to watch our son on occasion. After 4 months of asking I finally PRESSED and was told "we never said we'd fix the camera." My husband goes in, and miraculously the cameras are fixed the next day. I was told lunch was healthy, at the very least no canned food, and like any Montessori school, no candy/sweets (they give as a snack many days). I asked for a picture of the food to ensure all was well, after asking for a very long time, pictures clearly show canned food. I asked the admin to highlight meals that will have canned food to pack those days (she said no canned food at first, then said some...). She hands back every meal highlighted. Just seems like more care could be given. The lack of care was further shown when our son was hit/scratched by another student (other student's fault). First, they verbally told me an inaccurate account of what happened (my son explained). The teacher did not even know what day it happened. Because of that, I had to ask for an incident report (you should always have one when your child is injured). I got back a few words in the report, so I asked for a more detailed report (to handle any future issues). The request was met with almost physical hostility when I simply asked to review the final report one last time. Needless to say, it was the final straw. In the least, I certainly recommend asking very detailed questions and documenting all communications.

There is constant moving kids from class to class to adhere to state ratio requirements. Naps in the gym implemented occasionally because of lack of staff (again inconsistent y). 5 teachers quit in June and 2 in July that we heard of , resulted in 3 classrooms shut down at one point. It's really sad that this school spiraled downward so fast. We stayed longer than we should have hoping it would turn around. The facility itself is old and needs a major upgrade, the A/C wasn't working properly in June and July, just miserable in there for the kiddos and teachers. After moving to a new daycare, I realize how complacent I was for putting up with mediocrity and sometimes insufficient care. I do hope they can turn it around with the new director.

I did follow up by email and spoke with management, who addressed the situation and told me they would speak directly with the staff member involved. At the time, I considered the matter resolved. However, after returning and interacting with the same employee again, I was disappointed to experience the same dismissive, unwelcoming attitude. Whatever conversation may have taken place clearly did not result in any noticeable change in the way I was treated. We only returned once after that and then stopped going for quite some time. This week, I decided to give the location another chance because I was in a bind. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, my daughter immediately said, "Oh no, not this place. I don't want to be here. They're mean." I went inside with her and asked if I could stay for a few minutes to help her feel comfortable. They allowed me to do so, and eventually she began playing and warming up. What really stood out to me, however, was that the staff could clearly see that she was hesitant and having a difficult time staying, yet not one person approached her, tried to engage her, reassured her, or made any effort to help her feel welcome. After observing that, I decided I was not comfortable leaving her there. When I said we were going to leave, the interaction I received from staff only reinforced my decision. I'm actually thankful I went inside this time because I was also able to see the condition of the facility for myself. It appeared dirty and very run down. The toys and play areas did not look well maintained or clean, which was especially disappointing for a childcare facility. The same staff member I had dealt with during our previous incident was also there, and unfortunately, I experienced the same dismissive and unwelcoming demeanor. What makes this even more frustrating is that I had already prepaid for one of their highest-tier packages, which was several hundred dollars. Since my daughter clearly does not feel comfortable returning, I asked whether the unused portion could be refunded and was told no. At this point, I would rather lose the several hundred dollars I already paid than leave my daughter somewhere she is telling me she does not feel comfortable or safe. That should say everything. I was in enough of a bind that day that this type of drop-in childcare should have been incredibly helpful. Instead, I chose to take my daughter to work with me rather than leave her there. I will not be returning to this location with my daughter, and based on our experiences, I cannot recommend it to other parents.
