Definitely a must if you like smoke BBQ…read more They have pretty much every meat, chicken, brisket, pork, ribs, they also have mac and cheese and different sides They also have a sharable option on there's menu which is great if you wanna share food and also try different things of the menu Staff is very friendly, they have a small seating area but I suggest to do take out. We got the chicken and rib for 2 ppl , it came with chicken, ribs, brisket, 1 mac and cheese and 2 sides. This is enough for almost 4 ppl I can say the portions are very big which is nice. The meat was falling off the bone and it was very tasty and flavourful. I definitely recommend, you see them make the food in front of you because it's an small open kitchen Will definitely go again for sure

What a joyful surprise to stumble on this most awesome BBQ joint... in the West Island! Well I was…read moreactually highly encouraged by my friend at @shutupandeatmtl to give it a try and boy was I not disappointed -- yee-haw! Who can refuse low-and-slow smoked ribs? The ribs had similar bite and mouth feel as a tender and juicy steak and actually tastes like pork - not just the sauce. The meat tugs off the bone (not pre-boiled) rather than fall off the bone (pre-boiled). And then there was the smoked chicken - coated in homemade spice rub, then slow smoked to tender juicy perfection with skin thin as paper as the fat all melted off. This is some of the best chicken I've ever eaten! The "coup de grace" was the brisket - the holy grail of all meats. I had a small slice of the center part of the brisket, the most tender, juicy, meat full beefy flavours - especially the burnt edges where caramelization is most prominent. Words alone cannot describe it. Then dipped in the chimichurri-like sauce which simply enhanced the experience even more! Look forward to return to this epic joint and meet with owners: Laurie, Gregory, and Miguel. Oh must not forget the attentionate Kate! Dang that BBQ was guuud.

Where to begin. This establishment is all around AMAZING!!! All the staff are friendly, outgoing,…read moreattentive, and really know their craft. I thought I had pre-booked a reservation, and we were running late. Parking in this area can be a trick. I dropped my wife off and continued to locate parking. She contacted me and said there was no reservation. I panicked as I parked my truck and sifted through my emails for a confirmation. I hustled the 0.4 miles back to her. When I went in the hostess said it wouldn't be a problem and brought us to a table. My wife later told me she was offered tea while she waited. The waiter was on spot. He knew their menu and provided us with his insights. All the food was Devine. Beautifully laid out and brought out each course in the perfect time. My wife loved the hibachi, she doesn't eat much in general and I do most of the cooking at home. She couldn't get enough of putting items in the hibachi and moving them around. Guess I need a hibachi at home lol. Also my wife is 86 pounds, so she gets cold easy. The hibachi was the perfect personal heater too!! We had a great time together. The ambiance had that perfect Japanese appeal, while still modern. I used to live in Japan so I can be skeptical when it comes to Japanese flair & food. This establishment did not disappoint. So if you are in Montreal, I highly recommend giving this place a go. Side note, pricing is very reasonable considering what is included in packages. And the Saki I had was delicious and looking it up for the going rate they make around $5 per bottle based on what they sell it for and market retail price (place around the corner up charges 110%). So you are more than getting what you pay for in my opinion. And sometimes you just cannot put a price on excellent service! We will definitely be returning when we venture. To Montreal again.

The quality is definitely there! Cuts are rarely chewy and the marinades are flavourful. The…read moreappetizers are of much lower quality though. The spring rolls taste like the frozen veggie ones from Asian supermarkets. The salad and rice were also nothing special. However, the for value it's not bad. We got the premium set for 2, which was $120 (tax & tip included). For anyone that's not a big eater, it's a good alternative to gyubee. Service was very attentive although the kitchen was quite slow. Our appetizers came 1 hour after our meats arrived, which was a bit strange. Ambiance is a bit cold since the tables are so close to the doors, so we constantly felt a gust of cold air during our visit.

Playground Poker Club is one of the best card rooms in North America for more than the action or…read moreplayer experience, it's also about the food. The Rail is their casual eatery and it does a great job serving up Stateside comfort foods. We're talking burgers, salads, pastas and pizzas that are definitely a step up from most card room faire. Easy fan of their "crunchy jack burger" piled high with crispy fried onions, chipotle mayo and maple BBQ sauce. Also the simple chili. Looks like it came from a can but definitely doesn't taste like it. Pizzas are all wood fired. Chewy, puffy crust. Order by the menu or customize as much as you like. Ingredients might not be the highest quality but it's still hand crafted and better than any premade processed pie. Create your own pasta, OK. Satisfying since its made for your mood. Tortellini with spicy arabiatta, mushrooms and spicy Italian sausage somehow matches the energy at the tables. All beat the quality of a certain Olive chain. Friendly and efficient service befitting the property. A great spot for a quick refueling before returning to the frenetic energy of the tables.

This is the best AYCE Korean BBQ joint in west Island and I believe the only one!…read more It has a beautiful rustic charm it looks like a beautiful chalet and as soon as you walk in it feels very cosy and homey! We came in without a reservation and they made us feel welcome! We got checked in and vetted with all the covid rules (vax pass and sanitizer first) and got seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive and very sweet. She showed us how to order online with our phones. Very interesting system ! I loved how the food is brought to us by a baby elevator .. I guess the kitchen is in a different level! Food: They brought out some starters that tasted delicious I was so impressed with the cucumber starter dish so yummy with a kick to it. We got kimchi , marinated onions and then the Chop suey was delish too ! Every dish had awesome flavours. We went ahead and ordered different meats and shrimp. My all time favourite was the ox tongue soo good The grill was getting dirty as we were cooking so much on it she changed it for us that was nice as well. There's a lot of variety to choose from and it is all you can eat so you may order as much as you want but if you leave anything on the plate they charge you 1$ extra so be careful when you order too much hihi. Overall service ambiance and food was AMAZING and worth every penny! Definitely recommend this place if you've never tried an ayce Korean bbq resto! Cheers!

Was in the mood for some Korean bbq. I always drove by their…read moreplace and decided tonight to give them a try. There is ample parking as they have there own parking lot and there is also a bus stop a few meters down the street. The restaurant is a small quite place and has about 15 tables insides. The menu is down all online as well as the ordering process. The staff was friendly and was able to explain everything properly. We stated off with some vegetable that we grilled. The vegetables were raw and unseasoned. We had the following vegetables. Onions and zucchini and mushrooms. We grilled them and we had to dip them in the sauces to add flavor. For the meats. Short ribs were extremely fatty and chewy and the seasoning was bland. Short ribs on no bone Was very fatty and chewy and the way it was cut was like it was cut by hand not even made it hard to grill. Ox tongue Had same seasoning as the short ribs. Not much flavor in the sauce. It was ok nothing special. Pork belly Was cut so small made it hard to grill properly. No seasoning on the pork belly. Pineapple Was fresh and not canned and we grilled it as well. It's a nice place but with a few improvements it can be a winner.

A friend of a friend recommended this place as a must try when we were in Montreal. Trendy? No…read more Loud? No. Tasty food in an old school setting? Yes! This restaurant reminds me of the types of places I used to go to with my parents and grandparents. It just brought back a sense of nostalgia. We got here right when they opened on a Sunday morning and were one of the first tables there. When we told the servers that we were visiting from the US and that Chalet came highly recommended, they took pity on us (rightfully so) and then gave us a 5 star experience. We got the chicken special that came with fries, baked potato, Cole slaw and chicken soup and you cannot forget about the gravy! I'm not a Cole slaw conossieur but it was some of the Cole slaw I've ever had. Very finely shredded and the perfect combo of tangy and sweet. The chicken was perfectly roasted and I was so sad that I was getting full off of all the homestyle sides that I couldn't eat all the chicken. But the gravy? Good god that gravy, it's been weeks and I'm still thinking about it. I'm not even a big gravy person but this was savory heavy with a kick at the end. They gave us multiple cups, one for dipping and one for slipping! Come for the food and service, this place is full of regulars and appreciate the hospitality from our servers (I believe Janet or Janice and another friendly lady!)

It seemed busier today than usual with other diners so it was very lively but it was still easy to hear each other talk (and the service was still fast). Cozy, warm, delicious chicken and fries... it's also the only place I at least take bites of my coleslaw... overall, it was great.
