I was nervous to see dogs on walks due to his reactivity and even though he was an angel at home, sweet as pie, gentle and obedient - taking him out anywhere was not fun for him nor for me. Zoom Room changed all that. Now we use a handsfree leash. No more 'no pull harness', just a flat collar. I take him anywhere and he's improved so much in terms of reactivity. we are not perfect in terms of dog neutrality yet but WOW we have come so far. I take him to Runyon and Fryman, which I would have never done before due to all the dogs. I'm excited now when I see dogs, to help him practice making good decisions. I couldn't have done this without Alex and Justin. We've done a combo of Agility, Obedience, Loose Leash Hiking and Calm Down classes. We continue to work everyday and put into practice what we learn in class. Thank you Zoom Room for helping us so much and making life so much more enjoyable.

Upon parking I did note that there is very little parking in the back, I think I just got lucky to get the spot directly in front of the door in the back of the building, and I did find myself wondering what would parking be like during class time, I read in other reviews that some people have to walk from farther away because of the parking situation. I entered and thought it would be quite a small building, but actually the facility is quite spacious. They have one large room (with no windows) that they use for Private training sessions, and then they have the main large space where all their training classes take place and large windows. The facility is very clean and impressive and I saw the trainer playing ball with one of the dogs who was so well behaved which was nice to see as an example of what my puppy could be like when she grows up. The way it seems to work is you have to buy packages to be able to get credits to sign up for classes. Then you can use the website or you can call to ask to book the classes. One qualm I have is since they don't have a structured program where you show up weekly for classes, it means anyone can just jump in at any time. I think the concept of not being forced to do a weekly class makes sense, but at the same time for a puppy who needs structure and direction in addition to socialization, I do want something structured. If the classes fill up fast and get waitlisted, that must mean that some people don't get to train their dog that week? I wouldn't want to miss learning something with her and be forced to wait for another class or forced to take private classes to make up for it. I wish that I can purchase just one credit and try one class to see how it is before committing to a whole package. I do love that zoom room has so many classes to choose from though, including play time, socialization, agility, and sometimes they do nose work classes. I would love to do all of those. I am still researching training facilities and if I decide to use Zoom Room which is on my top three list of options, then I will update in the future how my experience goes.

I cannot say enough good things about the kindness and character of Daryl Young…read more Don't be fooled by those imposing America's Best Trainers videos of Daryl wrestling with ferocious looking, killer guard dogs, he is a gentle and caring human with ability to foster instantaneous trust and obedience. My 11-lb., 6-year old YorkyTerrier mix, out of state rescue pup, had a rap sheet on both coasts! I knew all about his previous antics before adopting him. He had been given up again, third time returned to yhe no kill shelter in Maryland. Because it was a family member who sadly returned him the last time, I decided to bring him to California.big have reduced numerous cats and dogs over the years. Never have I encountered a situation like this. From the very first day, Skipper held my household in fear. His snarling, attacking and biting were terrifying. My two resident rescues had to be boarded while I acclimated Skipper to his new "forever" home. Little did I know... Quickly, we were banned by my regular vet after he viciously attacked the vet and two techs. He would run up, bite legs or feet, clamp down and rip! Really a scary dog. I was advised to consider putting him down, giving him back or risk being sued. I just couldn't accept giving up. I called several highly recommended trainers, but upon disclosure of Skipper's behavior, no one wanted the job. Even a big name pet store "animal psychologist" refused to work with him. Vets, groomers, no one would help me. Finally, a friend's son gave me Daryl's number. I checked him out on the internet. He was highly rated on all websites. However, while watching action videos of Daryl wrestling with huge, nasty, killer- looking attack dogs, I wondered how or if he would even relate to my tiny 11- lb Kujo. Desperate, I called Daryl, America's Best Trainer, described the problem, fully expecting rejection. Without hesitation or any questions, Daryl said, "bring him over." I was euphoric! Someone clearly not frightened by the rap sheet. We drove up and jumped out of the car. With veiled amusement, Daryl watched as my terrified daughter and I cautiously struggled to cajole Skipper out of the car, obviously terrified of being attacked. Daryl smiled, and took hold of the the leash. True to form, Skipper went for Daryl's steel toed shoes, but this arrogant doggie that respected no one, stopped short at the sound of Daryl's firm but soft command. Skipper looked up at Big Daryl and his entire body language immediately slumped into submission and exbibited no signs of fear or anxt. Pure R E S P E C T. It was almost like a spiritual connection had taken place before our shocked eyes. In less than 5 minutes, we saw a different animal. Daryl recognized and brought forth Skipper's well concealed (from us ) prior training and had him obediently responding to commands. We were stunned. With incredulity, we watched as this vicious little reprobate stood with his tail between his legs, reverantly looking up at Big Daryl. And Daryl never once used the word, "NO." It was awesome! None the less, because we were still intimidated by this little Kujo, and so impressed with Daryl, we decided to leave Skipper in Daryl's capable hands for training. Skipper returned home the little gentleman Daryl saw him to be. He was a more relaxed, better behaved pet. The biting, snarling and attacks were over and done. Having been abandonef by his family of origen, adopted and returned to the No-Kill shelter 3 times before I adopted him -- knowing he was troubled, I now truly believe 6-year old Skipper was suffering from PTSD. Daryl was able to get him to trust and behave. This was not going to happen without professional help, and Daryl was the only one willing to take him on. Skipper is today a loving trusted pet and I credit the gentle giant, Daryl Young and his crew for saving our sweet Skipper and all of my family from a very sad fate. Additionally, Daryl provided the best professional resources for vet, grooming and boarding. There are not enough stars for the rating deserved by Daryl Young and America's Best Trainers.

Top-Tier Master Trainer! Brett transforms crazy dogs by training the owners. My German Shepherd,…read moreLucy, was in a shelter for over four months before I got her at around eight months old, so you can imagine how completely chaotic, spastic, and misbehaved she was. I was entirely overwhelmed and at my wit's end trying to manage her behaviors. When I hired Brett, I'll admit I fought him along the way on some of the training protocols--but in the end, he was correct about EVERYTHING. The most vital thing for difficult or frustrated dog owners to understand is that Brett's training isn't just about fixing the dog; it is primarily about training YOU, the owner. He provides an exceptional structure and leadership framework, but it only works if you are willing to check your own habits, get on board, and consistently follow through as a pack leader. His methods are incredibly kind, humane, and highly effective at correcting severe behavioral issues. Today, I am so incredibly happy with how my once-crazy dog has turned out. Thanks to Brett, Lucy is a wonderful companion who listens perfectly, handles major environment changes like moving to Downtown LA beautifully, and doesn't react to other people or animals anymore. Having her in my life has truly become the amazing journey I always hoped it would be. If you are willing to put in the work on your end, Brett is absolutely the best master trainer you can find!

Brett is fantastic. We have worked with many different trainers to help with our rescue pup Teddy…read more(3.5, labradoodle) with little to no lasting success and we were starting to worry. Teddy a sweet pup but struggled with anxiety, reactivity, resource guarding and was VERY sensitive to being touched and would often lash out or try to bite. We were really worried about how to help him and how to curb some of these bad habits we'd no doubt reinforced with our own behavior. When I called Brett for the initial consult, he was patient, understanding but also honest and direct about the time and effort it would take and the changes we would have to make to have a real impact. We were open to the feedback and committed to making a change in and out of our home. WOW. We've been working with Brett consistently for 3 months and Teddy is like a new dog. He is calmer, happier, more obedient, and much more confident and tolerate of being touched (especially on sensitive areas like his paws!). Our friends and family have all been shocked at the noticeable difference in Teddy's overall demeanor (happier and calmer!) and behavior. Our groomer asked us what had changed as he was so much calmer and happier to deal with. I want to be clear this is no "magic pill" we put in the work but with Brett's guidance and structure, we cannot believe the results. Teddy is of course still a work in progress and we have more work to do, but seeing the progress he's made in such a short amount of time with Brett's thoughtful approach has been so exciting. Brett truly understands dogs and their psychology and this makes him a true expert. Just know that part of the training process is training your pup but also training yourself to adjust your own behaviors to create a positive outcome long term for everyone. We cannot recommend Brett enough!!!

Not only is he my dog trainer, he's been there for me over the years as a safe person to leave my dog with when I'm traveling. When I got my mini golden doodle puppy recently, Anthony was the first call I made to set up a private training session for him. It's great to start them off with excellent habits young and I was so happy to hear he's taking on new clients. In just ONE session, Anthony trained my goldendoodle puppy so well and taught me the parent interaction skills to get my goldendoodle to sit on command. Only 2 days after the first session, my puppy knew how to sit on command and I received so many compliments about how well behaved he is! Anthony uses positive conditioning and expert non-pain inflicting training practices to teach the pups, through good behavior, to become so well behaved while still maintaining the vibrancy of their unique personalities. Several sessions later and not only is my pup trained to stay quiet during my work Zoom calls, but I'm also geared with the parent skills and dog psychology knowledge (which Anthony has a PhD in animal psych in) taught to me by Anthony to maintain the sweet and tame nature of my puppy! I'm SO glad I got my puppy started on training with Anthony. My puppy is just as funny and sweet as ever, but my home is way calmer and the overall energy is far more peaceful and happy now since we've had our lessons with Anthony. Highly recommend K9 Pup Academy for all dog training at any age. So many trainers use questionable, very forceful tactic while Anthony is the complete, kind opposite. He is expertly geared with the excellent techniques to train pups and their parents with care, effectiveness, and most importantly - compassion. No better dog trainer out there. Call Anthony now for all of your pup's training needs!
