Just wanted to add in addition to the great service Theresa has provided she is also an amazing asset to the community. She has dedicated her life to helping animals (not just cats) without hesitation. She works tirelessly every single day to provide care for animals that would otherwise be left for dead. I've asked her multiple times if she would go back to her previous career (that seemingly had many perks without the same demand) and her response is always no..because she's dedicated to helping these animals in need and whose going to do it and dedicate their life to it if she stops... there's so many innocent animals suffering and not enough people like her to care for them... and so she provides compassion, love, a clean safe place for them, health care (which is incredibly expensive ) and food and she gives up her nights and weekends and has sacrificed things like a set 8 hr schedule, a consistent paycheck, paid time off and paid sick time to name a few things...I don't know how she does it but I'm incredibly grateful for her!!! read more

I adopted my kitten Luna from the rescues Theresa fosters. She is the sweetest cat ever. Very clean. Every time I have a question about shots or feeding etc... regarding my Luna, Theresa is available and gets back to me very promptly. I swear, sometimes I think my 14 year old Katie kitty would be perfectly happy if Theresa was her mommy instead of me! Last time I went out of town, when I got back, she had those lovey eyes on, and was clearly feeling sooooo good! I worry about nothing when Theresa is in charge of my angel. And now she gets 1/4 of a pill for her overactive thyroid twice a day, and of course this is no problem for a pro like Theresa. She laughs and says she just waits for Katie to start complaining (frequent occurance :) and throws it right into the back of her mouth! LOL!!! I first met Theresa, the owner, as my neighbor several years ago. I actually never thought I would meet someone who loves animals more than me, but she does. She has fostered animals in need for years, paying their bills, foregoing her beloved triathelons many times. Her particular favorite pastime is bringing home mommy cats and helping them heal during their birthing and the aftermath, then finding everyone homes. Over and over she does it, I don't know how. If you have ever looked into having a reliable pet sitter look after your baby, you know how pricey it gets. I have found Westside Whiskers to be extremely reasonable. For example, for her to visit my cat twice a day, which I need due to her meds, it is $30/day. That is a steal in the world of pet sitting! We lost a lot of trust and respect for Theresa after our pet-sit. We had been using Theresa to watch our 2 cats for about 3 years and had always thought she was providing good service. We lived on the west side for about 2.5 years and moved about 12 miles away about 6 months ago. We were concerned about the distance, but Theresa volunteered to keep pet sitting for us and assured us that it shouldn't be a problem. We have one cat that is very dependent on attention, so we asked her to come for 30 minutes, once a day to ensure enough attention was given. We were gone for about 2 1/2 weeks. I am able to monitor who comes into and out of our home via our alarm system app. On at least 13 of the days we were gone, she was only in the home between 5 to 7 minutes. This is barely long enough to feed the cats and clean the litter box. It leaves no time at all to pay any personal attention to the cats. When we returned home, we told Theresa that we were disappointed that she did not provide us the service that we had paid her for. She gave us no apology, only to say that she did not take into account how long it would take to get to our house due to traffic. It was also frustrating that had we not brought this up, she would have never volunteered to us that she was not spending the amount of time that she was paid for. Furthermore, a friend came by our house a couple times while we were gone and reported to us that there were piles of vomit all over the floor that had not been cleaned up, empty cat food containers, used paper towels strewn about the kitchen and a huge pile of spilled dry cat food on the floor of the room where it is stored. We also had to ask for a refund of half of the fee we paid her for.... she did not offer this voluntarily. It took a week and a half of asking before the refund showed up, and when it did, it was less than half.... by this point we were so frustrated and over it, we decided not to even press the issue any longer, but were just glad that we would not have to deal with her any longer. This makes us question her integrity and now wonder what kind of care our cats were getting over the last three years prior to this incident. We are very disappointed. read more

I have just read the review from "Paul T" and the only thing that comes to mind is that this gentlemen shows a temperamental lack of due diligence. He is reporting on what his visiting friends found as a mess without checking with Theresa first as to what was happening, as she clearly explained in response. When I've come home after Theresa has cared for my animals, my house is cleaner than when I left and my animals show no signs of stress. I've used Theresa's services for almost 15 years and have NEVER had so much as a single problem. She's even bought more medicine on her own dime when my friends who used her services didn't leave enough. Sounds to me that she, with all good intention, over extended herself by offering to drive in heavy L.A traffic to a new destination outside of her service area, thus limiting her stay at the client residence. That's unfortunate, but to say you've "lost a lot of trust and respect" for a woman whose true primary focus in life is animals...that is simply unfair and unwarranted. If you love your babies as much as I do, you know how important a statement like mine is: I will only go on vacations if Theresa is available. No one else. Period. Shannon D. read more

I am really conflicted about writing this review. If i tell everyone how wonderful Theresa is, she might get too busy to take care of Sam. And nothing would be worse than that. But because I truly believe that Theresa loves Sam (because that's what he tells me -- and that's how I'm sure all of her clients feel) I'm going to go ahead and tell you yes yes yes she is wonderful.
