ious Trapani Food - Can't Miss!…read more I walked past this restaurant a few times, but Trip Advisor reviews brought me to the doorstep for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious - simple, fresh - I wish I'd eaten here sooner as I was tired of busy and touristy restaurants. An English menu is available and I chose a recommendation from host/owner: homemade busiate (pasta) with tomato, garlic and eggplant. (If you don't like eggplant, this is the place to try it - it was an eggplant 'puff' that melts in your mouth.) House white wine, fresh bread with olive oil for dipping, and a pistachio-ricotta dessert made for a very happy evening! The casual atmosphere is great for families, solo travelers, or folks who want the feel of a local environment. Although kind of hidden yet centrally located, I agree with fellow reviewers that this spot is worth your time. Excellent service, food, and value

In May of 2011 when we ate at Crik & Crok in San Vito, my wife had a pasta pesto, not the kind of pesto we know here in the states but more like a blended garlic basil, and tomato. We were staying nearby at a B&B before flying out of Trapani airport the following day and wanted to dine alfresco on our patio with friends. I stopped by Live Pizza at around 1730 but the weren't open yet but the crew was busily prepping ingredients for the evening. I came back at 1930 when they opened and my friend and I ordered two massive rectangular pizzas, a veggie and a Rianata. The veg had onions, eggplant, fresh tomatoes, fresh mushrooms, peppers and mozzarella. The Rianata had fresh oregano, anchovies, garlic, fresh tomato, olive oil and pecorino. The Veg was amazing cooked in 10 minutes in their massive wood burning oven, the crust was blistered and the veggies perfectly cooked. The Rianata was the only anchovy pizza I have ever liked. The fish was chopped up and distributed over the whole pizza giving it an even saltiness and umami blending with the tomato oil and pecorino for a mindblowing experience. All this deliciousness for eight people was only a little over 25 euro. I wonder if they deliver to Baltimore?

Other than not being "open" until 1pm, this was great. Trapani is a seafood town so we stuck to seafood. My friend chose the roasted octopus and it was definitely a different presentation than either of us have seen before. Big portion, very tasty and nicely done. House red wine was great and the salads were huge. The restaurant is decorated nicely and could be quite the romantic spot if that's your mood. Regardless, it was a great place for lunch and would be for dinner here in Trapani. There is no street parking as it is in the middle of the pedestrian neighborhood. We found out this restaurant thanks to a Groupon voucher we purchased months ago while planning our…read moretrip to Sicily. At that time we weren't sure about the place to visit, the itinerary and anything else. So we used the Groupon excuse to define at least some particulars of our daily routine at which unlikely we would have given up. Well, trust me if I say this was the best place my family and I have eaten during our 2015 spring break. Not only the menu and the portion were not Groupon-like - they were just enormous - but the service and presentation of the dishes were astonishing and comparable to a five-stars hotel. At the time we entered the restaurant - which later resulted to be also a small hotel - our skepticism was quite high. This place is far away from any town centre, in the inland. Thus without considering they didn't receive our booking made via that site that Groupon Italy obstinately want customers to use. However, something I learnt over time is to not trust the appearances and follow my gastro-sixth-sense. And I was right! Our expectations suddenly changed direction at the time we were told about the menu. An interesting list of typical Sicilian dishes that surprised us at every bite, accompanied by a chalice of Grillo. I took several pictures, but none of them will ever tell you how good those dishes were. Anyway, if you want to look at them, just look for my profile on Instagram. We left the place two hours after, fully satisfied. The chef freshly cooked our meal (it couldn't be pre-ready as our reservation was not there), and we had been given the right amount of time to eat. Every time something reached our table, the dishes were fully illustrated. And every time an empty dish was leaving the table we was asked about our appreciation. What else can I say? I think it's worth mentioning the proximity of this place to the Bingi airport (Trapani). Considering we would like to come back again to both Sicily and Rocche Draele, I will check for their availability when I will plan my next visit to Sicily.
