It looks like a roadside carryout pizza joint that would be of little interest but go inside and one look at the menu will tell the real story. We were staying nearby at a B&B before flying out of Trapani airport the following day and wanted to dine alfresco on our patio with friends. I stopped by Live Pizza at around 1730 but the weren't open yet but the crew was busily prepping ingredients for the evening. I came back at 1930 when they opened and my friend and I ordered two massive rectangular pizzas, a veggie and a Rianata. The veg had onions, eggplant, fresh tomatoes, fresh mushrooms, peppers and mozzarella. The Rianata had fresh oregano, anchovies, garlic, fresh tomato, olive oil and pecorino. The Veg was amazing cooked in 10 minutes in their massive wood burning oven, the crust was blistered and the veggies perfectly cooked. The Rianata was the only anchovy pizza I have ever liked. The fish was chopped up and distributed over the whole pizza giving it an even saltiness and umami blending with the tomato oil and pecorino for a mindblowing experience. All this deliciousness for eight people was only a little over 25 euro. I wonder if they deliver to Baltimore? read more
