They offer a variety of pasta and pizza, but I decided to go in a different direction. I absolutely love the new addition to the Pasteria group. The restaurant is located in one of my favorite parts of Guadalajara; only a block away from the Glorieta Chapalita on a tree lined street that feel like old school Mexico. The interior of the restaurant is larger that you would expect with a large bar and comfortable bar stools. I have eaten dinner a few times at the bar with Gustavo, the head bartender, and watched the Chivas play. The big addition to the Pasteria Chapalita is the pizza. This is not the same pizza that you see at their sister restaurants, but a fluffier Neapolitan style crust (I assume the pizza is Neapolitan style because the oven says Napoli in really big letters). The wine cellar is ample and has some nice choices at a reasonable price point. One of the best things about the wine program is the wine keeper. When you only want to get a glass, and it is hot out, the wines they are serving by the glass are kept in a little fridge that gets the temperature just right: not room temperature and not too cold. The rest has already been talked about. The service is quick and friendly. The food is consistently good at all of their locations. Try the burrata and the salmon. I can't get enough of that white wine and butter sauce. Great option that we always love! read more

I would definitely come again. The food was delicious. We had a prosciutto board which was sliced so thin, it was like a putting fluffy prosciutto cloud in your mouth. Then we had a pizza that was served on a round wood board that was quite delicious. It was a very nice presentation instead of getting it on a metal tray. It had grated parmesan top. The bottom crust was crunchy while it was a pillowy middle, yet sturdy enough to hold the perfect balance of toppings. We rounded our meal off with a capellini pomodoro with a little basil...muah! It wasn't on the menu, but the chef was gracious enough to accommodate us. Finally, desssssssert! The tiramisu was fluffy, light, & delicious and the lemon pay "pie" was amazing. It was refreshing & light with a cookie crust and light lemon jam in between. The service was very good with multiple people coming to our table to check on us and to promptly whisk our dishes away. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice. It was a little dark, but I could see why. It was intimate and it put you at ease. We had to use our cell phones to be able to appreciate and read the menu more easily, but other than that, we were able to appreciate our experience. Give it a try. You'll thank me later. read more

Excellent service. Waiters were attentive and friendly. A few of them spoke fluent English which made ordering easy. Had the sausage pizza and it was delicious. Very reasonably priced as well. I'd definitely go back if I'm in Guadalajara again! read more

We had a lovely dinner at the pasteria during out trip to Guadalajara. We were staying nearby and loved walking around Chapalita during the Sunday art Fair. Very happy to have found the Pasteria on our walk. The owner spoke English and gave us a great recommendation to try some Mexican wine and the squash blossom appetizer. I loved the salmon with capers (the butter sauce is not low calorie). You have to try the chocolate hazelnut cake, it is fantastic. The service was very nice and everything came out quickly even though the restaurant was packed. I really enjoyed our experience. read more

Without a doubt, this is the best Italian food restaurant we have found so far in all of Guadalajara. We shared the Caprese salad as an appetizer and also ordered tagliatelle ai funghi and The beef rib with porcini reduction. The reduction was out of this world good! Everything was excellent and the service matched the food quality. We came on Wednesday night and it was not very crowded only about half full. But the place seemed to be well staffed and well-trained. I would come back in a minute. Right across the street from la Moresca which is also a very good place to eat, however I would choose La Pasteria. The menu had many choices and should satisfy everyone. Excellent choice for dinner. read more
