    Churros and malindros
    Shanelle S.

Old-school spot for xurros or malendros with chocolate. Stopped by here for a breakfast at opening and there were already a fair amount of people. There's only indoor seating but you can takeaway as well. The chocolate can come with homemade nata (cream) which isn't too sweet, but is also good as a standalone. The chocolate is rich and the churros are perfectly fried. The malendros were very soft in texture and soak up the chocolate well. The food came out very quickly. There is a restroom on the left hand side. Credit cards accepted.

i'm so disappointed in this place. I found it on tiktok and was so excited to try it but the waiter the second we said down "do you know what you want" and we didn't know they didn't have a menu they give you and we said "oh what's everything you got?" explained to us what they had ordered what we wanted the beginning was fine. But once he brought our food we wanted to order one more side. He gave us the nastiness side eye ever as he was walking away, he came back with an attitude "are u sure that's all u want like that's it?" we were like yea..... came back and just tossed it on the table. Couple mins go by we ask for 2 cups of water key thing 2 cups. Walks away after we tell him and comes back with 1 horrible ass service and the food wasn't even worth the hype

So I heard about Barcelona's chocolate street, Carrer Petritxol, and figured it would be a Willy Wonka wonderland of delights. It wasn't that ostentatious, more a pedestrian alley lined with chocolatiers and art galleries. It was in one of those art galleries that Picasso displayed his first painting, a three-eyed chocolate maker with an arm sticking out of his mouth. OK, I made that up, but hey, he could've painted that. Jamie W. and I patronized the most popular of the chocolate shops on the street and ordered what everybody else ordered. We went with the 2.40€ plate of Churros (photo: https://yelp.to/IOoMLfV0pf). Five of them, fresh from the fryer. Delicious. We also ordered the 2.40€ plate of Melindros (photo: https://yelp.to/C7ObIU4hV4). Four thick ladyfingers ready for dipping. As for our dipping source, we both had the 3.70€ Swiss Chocolate with Whipped Cream, and it was delightful decadence as the tower of whipped cream overpowered the cup of chocolate which was thick and sweet, ideal for dipping once you get through all the cream (photo: https://yelp.to/w6ULeRb3jf). The staff was completely male, mostly middle-aged and presumably longtime employees. A cool atmospheric spot. FOOD / DRINK - 4 stars...the Swiss chocolate was the main draw with the churros and melindros mere vehicles for dipping AMBIANCE - 4.5 stars...simple cafe set-up but charming SERVICE - 4 stars...they don't mess around here TOTAL - 4 stars...gee, what can't you dip in chocolate? This place is crazy busy at night with lines over an hour long. Tip: we went around 10 am and there was no wait at all. Their churros and chocolate is a MUST. The churros do not come with chocolate, you have to order it separately. Perfectly paired items. The chocolate is not over sweet and the churros were fried to perfection, they make an excellent Americano as well.

Visiting Barcelona for 3 days and we really wanted to try churros and chocolate. We popped in and got a seat right away, ordered a bikini sandwich, chocolate and churros. The food came super quick and it was all so delicious. The chocolate was hot and thick and tasted amazing filled with churros! Definitely recommend this spot for a quick bite!

People said it's not as good as before but since I had nothing to compare it to, I thought the desserts/snacks were wondering. Churros and chocolate were freshly made and hot. Catalana creme was really tasty. Service was good. It is small inside so seating can be limited depending on the time you go. Prices were cheap.

churros, melindros and a swiss chocoate with whipped cream

Great place for a snack on the way home. The space is deceptively large from the doors, as all the action is in the front by the bar but there is seating all the way to the back. Grab a seat and a server dressed in white will bring a menu. Deciding what to get is probably the delay as the moment you place your order, it will appear in 2 minutes because they work so quickly. We got an order of churros, melindros and a swiss chocoate with whipped cream. You get around 5 churros to dunk through the ball of whipped cream to get to the chocolate underneath. The melindros are like less-sweet lady fingers that almost melt when dipped. Both are excellent accompaniment to the chocolate. Will try the ensaimada next time as that seemed popular also.

Friend of mine highly recommended this place. This place open at nine and we came here around 9:10am, but they are already fully booked. We saw they had two groups of tourists inside. We only waited a little over fifteen minutes. We tried their popular churros and chocolate, lady fingers, croissant and two coffee (I think.) Surprisingly, they don't make their churros in here. We saw the guy brought five big brown bags of churros and they poured it in front of us while we are waiting in line. Lol!!! Overall, the churros is kinda hard and oily, the chocolate is not smooth and tastes like they added water in there. I will highly recommend to go to Cerveseria Catalana to try their fresh churros and chocolate. :)

    Swiss xocolat, churros.
    MJ R.

Churros were delicious! The xocolat was not too sweet. I got the swiss xocolat that comes with a very generous serving of whipped cream on top. The service was so incredibly fast. What amazed us was that the street itself was quiet but inside this shop only it was so packed! That was our sign that it was a good local spot!

Yes, their goodies are good, but I recommend dining in vs take-away. This cafe is cute and I think it's best to enjoy the vibe inside, not just for social media pics, but to enjoy little gems like this in the heart of Barcelona. Or, fine, just get something to-go and it'll still be awesome. Don't wear white!

Excellent churros and chocolate with an insanely huge dollop of cream! Lots of tourists but with good reason. Freshly made churros with a light crunch that you can dip in a thick cup of cocoa. Spent around 10wauros for 2 cups of hot cocoa, one with a big topping of whipped cream and 2 servings of fresh-made churros. Must say, I loved their churros and hot chocolate more than the St Ginés in Madrid

Yummy churros! They were not as sugary as I have had them in the States but this was much better!

Lightly fried tasty churros with some decadent chocolate, what's not to like? In a convenient location and the owners were really nice.

The young ladies handing out the samples were friendly and so generous with the samples; they kept urging me to try different ones and, believe me, I didn't need much encouragement! I love nougat! I love the softer nougats with almonds best, but I also had some with pistachios and fruits. The best was the one with almonds and chocolate! The bars come in different sizes, so if you want quick and easy-to-handle souvenirs to take home, this might be it. I think the smaller bars were 3.95 Euros while the larger bars were 9.95 Euros. My friend purchased a large box of the round ones before she realized they had smaller boxes and they graciously allowed her to exchange her purchase. Service was very quick and friendly. Wish there was a shop like this near my home; I'd be there quite often!!

Originally founded in 1775 and still family owned, years of fame and intelligent investing allowing the company to expand into several International markets and styles of Nougat and Chocolate including a Sugar-Free line said to be indistinguishable from the real thing, it was just after 15h00 that the lengthy store on Carrer Provença was entered, a greeter at the door quickly leading patrons to a serving dish of four chopped treats, both the White Chocolate and Pistachio Block as well as Dark Chocolate and Hazelnut sort of like American Holiday "Bark" and pleasant enough while the hard and moist Torron were both very sweet, actually quite a bit moreso than Ramos or La Turronería Iváñez in Bilbao. Quite the operation, the company now with nearly three dozen stores including a Turron Museum outside of Lleida that many have said to be worth the drive, it was walking deeper into the space that guests found themselves tempted by Bars, Tablets and Chocolate Bon-Bons, a trio of samples from the ElBarri collection all delightful with the Gin & Tonic particularly well crafted and the Olive Oil filled version simple and clean while exaggerating the fruity flavors of the Cocoa. Picking up some gifts for others plus a few small bars for later it was finally en route to the register that eyes fell upon a package titled Gema Cremada, the Candy that is apparently quite popular around holidays without a doubt the most impressive thing tasted at Vicens with a creamy body made from Marzipan and Sugar beneath a brûléed exterior that helps to mellow the sweetness while also adding a remarkable texture that compelled the purchase of a weighty €7 package for the road.

There were a few loaves of bread but mostly there were those sweets and it seems they have those all the time. We got a regular cinnamon roll because the flavored ones didn't have as much of the frosting on it which is the best part, and a pistachio cream rookie... no im not sure what a rookie is but it looked like a Levain cookie (the famous one from NY) as it was a mountain of a dessert. We had both treats heated up... although they weren't actually hot lol. The cinnamon roll was on par with others I've had, maybe even slightly drier but the frosting was amazing and I still enjoyed it a lot. The rookie was quite decadent and the inside was an almost cake texture? Still quite tasty but I think both would've knocked it out of the park if they were actually hot and ooey gooey. Five stars because it wasn't bad but I can't say I'm super impressed. I will be going to other gf bakeries over this one

There are definitely plenty of places for churros with chocolate around the city, but stumbling upon this one totally changed my perspective on dark chocolate. I used to be a white chocolate gal, but now I've come to realize that dark chocolate can be so decadent -- slightly bitter with the perfect amount of sweetness. Honestly, it was rich, smooth, and totally drinkable. The churros were nicely fried -- crispy on the outside, soft on the inside -- and paired perfectly with that delicious dark chocolate. So good that we came back two nights in a row, which rarely happens when we're traveling. Very nice service, cozy vibe, and definitely a must-stop sweet treat while in Barcelona. Happy eats!

It kind of overpowered the churros and made the whole thing feel heavy instead of indulgent. The churros themselves were okay, but not the best I had in Barcelona. If you're a serious chocolate lover, you might enjoy it more -- but for churros, I'd recommend checking out other spots in the city first. Barcelona has better.
