No issues underneath my nails like before I came in. My dipping powder was $50. Though that seems steep to me, that is Hobbs's rates. My tech was gentle and didn't grind my nails down unnecessarily like that last salon. The only things I view as pitfalls: - parking kind of sucks in their plaza - limited colors (I wanted a rich, more glittery red) - the salon could use some deep cleaning (like most Hobbs salons) Aside from the traffic, it's in a great location across from Albertson's Market. Close to other great businesses. Cash accepted.

Her partner, Luca, is so talented! He will help with my super crafty nail art. The employees there really work with me on my schedule. Gel and shellac are very similar in regards to how they are applied. Exposure to UV light in both methods occurs. However, I read that shellac is a bit more gentle and easier to remove and not as damaging as gel. The biggest pitfall seems to be that shellac manis don't last as long as gels. Moving onto the actual place... They didn't have a black shimmer polish available, only plain black. This nail salon is in a plaza adjacent to the nearby Walmart. Ample, free parking. I'm not sure I will be returning because it wasn't relaxing hearing multiple children screaming & crying at dentist office next door. Also, twice during my approximately 45-minute walk-in session, a male employee came up to my nail tech and conversed with her for several minutes, disengaging her attention with the sharp cuticle trimmers she was using on me. Tip may be added to card transactions. My total on 9/13/2022 was just under $33.

Time 4 Nails…read more.. *sigh* Still time 4 me to find a nail salon I really love in Hobbs, America. Back on November 4, 2022, I was accepted as a walk-in at around 9:30AM. I was out 50 minutes later. My nail technician was engrossed in her phone at the very beginning. I suppose she thought I was going to take longer to choose my polish color. She did a good job trimming, filing, and the rest... she just really had an interest in her phone that morning. Numerous times during my session. One thing that was super funny... she was nice about it, but she had me wash my hands twice. Once after she finished sanding off my polish and filing, then after she massaged my hands with lotion. Lol. I've never had that happen before, but I appreciated it. It cost me $40 for gel removal and a new gel mani. Plastic was accepted. They use Square so if you're signed up for mobile texts there, you'll get your receipt texted to you. That's a bit steep. I didn't pay nearly that much when I lived in the Los Angeles area a few months ago nor did I get them reshaped. The huge stepback for me is their grimy facility. It's almost like an oilfield shop when you walk in - it's that dirty! Also, the parking lot is a bit crammed as there are other businesses in this small plaza.

It was by far the cleanest nail salon I have been to in Hobbs, NM. A lady next to me told us that they recently got new chairs at the foot spa area, I presumed. That being said, while my manicurist (a guy) did a decent job, I was a bit disappointed with some of the shaping after a closer look. Plus, I should have gotten two coats of color instead of just one, but lesson learned. My price was $50. It's also not the most relaxing environment with all of the employees chattering so much, but I have been in worse places. At least they were friendly. The manager, maybe owner, complimented me on my shapely physique. "You looked 18 from behind." Ah ha! It was a bit flirtatious for my liking, but I appreciate the honesty as I have been working on toning my body. I'll be back in a couple of weeks.

Brickman: "Yeah, it's great." After all these years, Yelp is still great for all those insider tips and info I crave about businesses. Enter Darling Nails and Spa in Hobbs, NM. This place has so much potential, but it fell drastically into a swampy goo pit of mediocre customer service. I went here because my aunt has gone here on occasion. My first encounter I was a walk-in and waited an hour just to walk out because no one followed up with me or told me how long it would be. Never had that problem anywhere I went when I lived in the Greater Los Angeles area for the last ten years. The next day (10/7/2022) I decided to go early. It was a few minutes after 9AM - their opening time - when I tried the door which was locked. Two other customers who I later learned had actual appointments drove off shortly thereafter. The lady who did my nails was nice, but she hurried the job, neglecting dead skin around some of my nails and not filing them quite as nicely as I later realized I wanted. I sat down at 9:10 and paid with my credit card at 9:45. I opted for a "cat eye" effect with gel color #97 which went over black. It turned out really cool for October/Halloween vibes. My total for shellac removal and a gel mani was $42.72. That's on the high end for Hobbs, America. Not sure if I'll return.
