The first impression is a warm and friendly; the service is pleasantly attentive. The feel is comfortable and relaxed. The fit out is clean white and crisp....
We liked this restaurant so much we came back for a second dinner. The options are either a fixed price menu for 25 Euros or a degustation for 31 Euros. These both include wine options of a red, rose or white. There is also an excellent wine list which if chosen from adds to 'the bill'.
The food is wonderful. On the first occasion we had the Traditional San Sebastian fish soup, while for mains we had the Squid served in black ink and the Fish of the day, with a tomato confiture and sprayed with a sweet chilli vinaigrette dressing. For desert we had the cheese plate comprising 'brie', 'manchego' & 'idiazabal', and the Apple Tart with caramelised cider and lemon cream.... overall, simply stunning food, elegantly presented and with a delightful array of tastes.
The second visit was as good perhaps even better.... this time one of us ordered from the fixed price menu and the other the degustation. The later offer five courses with some choices. The first dish was the Salmon salad with tomato, mozzarella and green apple vinaigrette....with three prawns on top, then came the Ravioli with mushrooms and fungi with foie gras, then the Cod 'ajoarriera', then the Boneless rib eye and for desert the apple Tart. The fixed price menu selection comprised the Ravioli as the starter and for main, a stunning Duck Breast with various purees and a sweet wine sauce. The desert was caramelised honey bread .... again a superb dinner.
This is a great restaurant and the food is outstanding....and most of all no dish was over engineered.
We will come back even though it is a long way from home just because it is a great experience. read more
