Came to La Mirada GC on a Sunday afternoon for a round with my wife. Things went downhill quickly (even before my first shot). Walking into the pro shop, we overheard one of the staff members (I'll call her "MAD" - cuz well: 1) she's insta mad. 2) her name starts with a "M" (same name as Rachel's roommate on the TV show Friends). 3) As we'll see later on, MAD gave me her name, and taunted me to use it, so feels like we're ok here.), laughing along as a coworker mocked a golfer on the first tee for hitting a bad shot. Not a great first impression, but apparently on-brand for how staff here looks down on customers based on other reviews. After checking in, we learned my wife would need to share a cart with another single player unless we paid extra for her own, she's had poor experiences with this. The outside attendant said it would cost about $15 for a solo cart, and another golfer in our group confirmed he'd paid roughly $16-ish to ride solo. My wife asked if I'd just share her cart instead, so I went back to the pro shop to switch from walking to riding. That's when MAD rang me up for $17.50 and I made the mistake of being a lowly peon and asking the Elite status staff a simple clarifying question: The attendant outside said it was $15 to ride solo, so it it cheaper to do that? MAD looked at me like I was an idiot, snapped that the outside attendant "doesn't know anything," and got visibly annoyed that I'd dare question her pricing. When I pressed for clarity, she slammed the rate sheet on the counter, sighed dramatically, and stormed off to a stool at the other end of the counter, telling her coworker she "can't deal with this" and to handle me instead. When I asked why she was so upset, she shouted that I'd given her attitude for asking about pricing and not believing her. I asked the other employee for a supervisor's name; he gave it but said they weren't in. She then loudly announced her name, M***** and taunted me to use it... I guess she didn't care because she's perfect and can do no wrong. The outside attendant later came over and apologized for the whole ordeal so she get's credit for that. For the Pro shop, it would be nice for Ai to take this job... one of the most unpleasant customer service experiences I've had at a golf course. Booked a 3-some at La Mirada Golf Course and had a really frustrating experience. Pro shop forced one of our female players share a cart with a total male stranger. That is not standard practice at all, and she completely felt uncomfortable. On top of that, this creates a real privacy and security concern. Personal belongings like wallet, phone, and other valuables are typically kept in the cart, and being required to share that space with someone you don't know raises the risk of loss or theft. When we raised concerns, guy at the proshop said I'd have to pay $16 extra for her to ride alone with a theory we paid for a seat and not the cart! How ridiculous! I have never heard anything like this before because we all paid for the cart. Next day, we played at Skylinks in Long Beach, which is also a Los Angeles municipal course, and they gave our 3rd player her own cart. And 4th individual player got his own cart. So this is certainly not a norm. Dear management, your cart sharing policy could discourage players from returning and may ultimately impact customer retention more than it helps operational savings. I kindly ask that you reconsider or provide more flexible options for guests. read more

Came here for a wedding and the venue was a little hard to navigate but the wedding pulled off! Views from the outside venue were very nice but there was barely any shade. We had to move some chairs around before the ceremony started so that my family could be comfortable. You also have to walk to the venue building to use the restroom which is a pretty hefty walk in heels and a long dress. They do have golf carts available but where were they? Don't know. Only saw them after the ceremony. The building where the reception was held was okay. It needed some renovation but the decorations for the wedding made it nice. Very frustrating experience. What started as a pleasant morning round ended after only nine holes because of a poorly handled situation. I was paired with someone I had never met before. From the beginning there was not even a simple greeting, and he said he preferred to walk. I respected that decision and tried to be considerate. However, he later complained that I was not waiting for him on the front nine, which simply is not true. Instead of properly understanding the situation or asking the other players in the group, the pro shop staff immediately told me that I had to pay an additional cart fee because I was riding alone on the back nine. That makes absolutely no sense. If someone chooses to walk, the person who decides to ride alone should pay the additional cart fee. The person who made a normal 18-hole reservation should not be held responsible. I have worked in the golf industry for decades and also hold a professional certification, so I understand golf etiquette and course manners very well. Situations like this should be handled carefully and fairly, especially at a public course where many different players are involved. Unfortunately, the staff handled this situation very poorly. What was supposed to be a simple practice round while preparing for an exam ended up being ruined over something that could have been easily resolved with better judgment. I came here to enjoy my day of golf, not to accommodate a stranger or act like their servant on the course. The manager's clever solution helped ease my bad mood a little." read more

Key Points: - Great Food - Good Greens - Bad Tee Boxes, Fairways, Bunkers, and Pace of Play Maria was very friendly, quick service, and made me an amazing breakfast burrito. I would recommend the burrito, it is a great price for the amount you get and it tastes great. Definitely one of the better foods I've had from a golf course. The best part about the golf course are the greens, they aren't amazing but everything else is below average. The Teeboxes are pretty rough, fairways arent in the best shape, and bunkers are straight mud. The Pace of play is pretty slow, and there isn't much shade on the course so if it's hot bring an umbrella and a fan. Overall if you're looking for a tee time for somewhere that is local then I would recommend it, but other than that there's courses better for the price. read more

I have played at countless golf courses over the years, but I have never encountered staff as unfriendly, unpleasant, and rude as those at La Mirada Golf Course. In particular, a young man working the afternoon shift on Saturday, August 22, and Sunday, August 23, was not only rude but also appeared to be dishonest. Despite my membership exempting me from cart fees during twilight hours, he charged me for a cart. When I questioned the charge and explained that my membership covered it, he corrected the charge--but did not offer even a simple apology. On another occasion, he attempted to charge me $10 that I had already paid online. Again, when I pointed this out, he simply corrected the charge without offering any apology or explanation. I can't help but wonder how many customers who were unaware of the rules or did not notice the extra charges may have ended up paying money they did not owe. Furthermore, although my membership includes a complimentary beverage, no one on the staff ever informed me of this benefit. Unfortunately, the unfriendly attitude seems to extend throughout La Mirada Golf Club, from the management to the younger employees. The level of customer service is extremely disappointing. To make matters worse, the greens were covered with divot marks, and there was so much duck droppings on the course that it made playing extremely unpleasant and, at times, nearly impossible. People go to a golf course to relax, enjoy the game, and have a pleasant experience--not to leave feeling frustrated, upset, and annoyed. Based on my experience, La Mirada Golf Course has a serious problem with both customer service and course maintenance, and I sincerely hope management takes these issues seriously. read more

It was my second time playing this course - grew fee on a Friday was $63 or so. Not too high but course was not in the best shape - greens were a little slow - overall not great but not too bad. The golf cart however was on its last legs - I was very happy it made it through 18 holes. Seemed tee times were difficult to manage as they had a few groups of 12 players come through so we got started on #10. This hole tee shot is over a lake and received many golf balls went in since it was the first shot. read more

This golf course is just okay. They have an okay course it's not the best to play however it's okay on a whim. The staff here is not as friendly and seem to just want to get through their work hour. We had a tournament here and the food was awful. I'm surprised that we have it on our list to go back if we can't find someone. I go to this place on the weekends.It was so magnificent just until today around 4 P.M on a Saturday, May 30th.There was two kids , i am not sure about their ethnicity but i think they were Mexican.They ran to a wedding , and i was having a normal day , until one of the kids laughed at me because i was asian and proceeded to say "Ni Hao!"When i heard this , my heart shattered.I have a toleration of no racism.It made me mad and sad somehow at the same time.Also , some of the staffs here are biased to Koreans , one of the staffs literally said "Fuck Koreans!"Although the courses here are excellent and amazing , truthfully i wouldn't want to go to a place where they have racism in it. read more

If you can get an early tee time it's a great place to play. However my experience has not been so great if you play anytime after 8:30. Looking at a minimum 5 hour round. Course is usually in great condition. I love the greens. read more

Place is a joke, bunkers have no sand on more than half the holes even after they just put new sand. Tee boxes always overgrown and always takes 3 hours to just play 9 holes. Don't get fooled at the 8 pm closing at the pro shop, got there at 7:45 and they were already closed. Just trying to get some balls for crying out loud. read more

BEYOND backed up, everyone was so aggressive and rude, we waited 40+ minutes for some holes, and when we tried to skip some holes and play through some people CALLED THE OFFICE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT. Mostly older people in groups of 4/5 and hitting multiple balls each, and walking to add to the time being at almost a crawl. I paid for 18 holes and finished 9 before going to the office and talk to them about how bad this place is and how upset we are by it and everyone out there. Monica was beyond kind and apologetic for what happened, so she doesn't deserve any hate. But one kind person in a sea of monsters doesn't redeem this place. Never come here. Ever. The young Korean manager who works on Wednesday and Saturday is the most arrogant and rude person in the manager position at any golf course. He speaks Korean but refuses to say it to most Korean players who come to the course. I don't know whether he is so rude to Koreans, but I play at the Lamirada golf course at least 4 times a week, and I don't think I will come to the course as long as the Korean manager is working there. read more

Spent time on this course this weekend with a group of friends, have to say I was very impressed with the overall golfing experience. Course: Fairways and roughs were in mostly in great condition and the greens were without a doubt excellent and challenging pin positions throughout. Love the overall flow in and out of the small hilly holes. Staff: Truly amazing, you can tell they love what they do on a daily basis. Helpful at all times, clean facilities, and truly a joy to be around. Cost: Green fees range $38 to $47 depending on times, there are options for 9 holes at $20 to $20, there are huge Senior discounts and Junior rates as well. First time visiting the course as I've just moved into the area. Was interested in the players club, but quickly realized the service was absolutely terrible. They were out of ball buckets and I didn't see any laying around so I asked the person up front. He told me to wait for a few minutes as he proceeded to holler at his friends at the first hole and watched them all tee off. Once they were done, he sighed and went to look for a bucket. Came back 3 minutes later and tossed the bucket to me. I was extremely confused to the point where I wondered if I did something to offend the guy. Every golf course I've been to has staff that are polite and professional, but this seems to be the exception. I'm pretty sure that they don't want your business- certainly not mine. I've since purchased a membership at another golf course and played rounds at five other golf courses in the area and all seem great. This course is the exception. Horrible service and the most poorly managed golf course in this area. We booked a weekday twilight tee time and when we arrived, they were super backed up with two large high school teams in a match up right in front of us. No starter in sight so we went back to the clubhouse to complain. They had us squeeze in between groups on the back 9. It wasn't any better with 3 teams in front and 3 teams behind, and they were upset that the clubhouse had us cut in. We waited at least 15-20 minutes per hole and we barely played 8 holes in a span of 3 hours. No marshal to speed up pace of play. The next day, I called the manager to recommend a starter and/or marshal, and caution not to overbook tee times especially during high school match days. Manager was not helpful in the least, pompous if anything, and stated that they're a popular golf course with 200+ tee times and players should expect it to be backed up. Extremely poor customer service with no apology or explanation. There are so many courses nearby that are properly managed and maintained such as Dad Miller, Brea Creek, Birch Hills, Fullerton, Coyote Hills, Black Gold. Never playing La Mirada again. Do NOT recommend. read more

This is quite possibly the most congested, unorganized golf course I have ever been to. We were told that the county booked tee times every 5 minutes, which was changed earlier this year to every 8 minutes, which was then turned into every 4 minutes as of today. We checked-in and the starter tells my threesome, does not ask, but tells us, that we are going to join a twosome. That was not happening. Our tee time was 8:15, we did not tee off until after 9:00am. The Marshal was a cool guy, he apologized profusely. We had to tee off on the back rather than the front because they had to clear the back for a firework show. Because of this they had to shut down half of hole 12; a par 5. So now not only am I annoyed that we teed off over a half an hour late and had to tee off on the 10th, but they could not tell us that? Obviously they have known about a firework show ahead of time and could not put something online saying that there will be some type of construction or event happening? I golf maybe two times a week, and I have never been this unhappy, I have even played The Links at Victoria and did not complain. For the first time ever, I called the pro shop and complained, on the 15th hole (our 6th hole). They said they would send someone out to talk to us and I quote, "We can go from there". Marshal never came, in fact, nobody came. We finished the back 9 in 3hrs, and 20 minutes. I have never seen so many fivesomes on one golf course. February 2022 Wedding We had our wedding ceremony and celebration at the same location. We used house chairs and linens. We were provided a stage for the head table (optional). Other tables are available if requested (some fees do apply). There was a golf cart to assist guests and bride to ceremony location. It was also available for photos. We couldn't have asked for better weather. One Tip: have your significant other stand to the left of the gazebo since the aisle curves. My husband was hidden behind all the guests standing so I couldn't see him when I entered the ceremony area. read more

There was this one man who had a blonde buzzcut and wore glasses however he was very rude not only was he yelling at our first interaction but he also threw my golf basket at me when they indicated they were closed. So I obviously was curious on when it closed and he replied angrily. I then questioned what was the reason for membership markup if the ball machine was closed then he angrily stormed off cursing under his mouth. It was hard deciding whether this is a 5 or 4 star course....mostly because they allow for 5somes and you can feel a bit rushed playing twilight on weekends. But all in all my heart belongs to this course. Before you judge this place you MUST put it in context that it is a LA County Public course, and when you do so you start to realize why it's been awarded public golf course of the year honors over half a dozen times in the last 1 1/2 decades. That's straight dynasty status son!!! Anyways, is this place crawling with (annoying) Koreans? Yes. Is this place waaaaay over crowded on weekends? Yes But is this place well maintained for the amount of foot traffic that comes through, and is just challenging enough for your average scratch golfer? Yes. Do I love this place? Yes read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this course, which turned out to be in pretty good condition. However, a lot of the comments these reviewers make are true. 99.99% of the clientele are older korean men, and they stack the tee times with 5-somes. So more often than not, you're looking at a 5+ hour round. But I played in a threesome last friday morning, and they let us go out by ourselves, which made the experience 100x better. The group in front of us were fairly good, allowing us to finish in about 4 1/2. The course itself is pretty easy and it seems a lot shorter than most others I have played. There's no need to hit from the whites here. Also, don't even think about getting waved up on a par 3. Koreans don't even know what that means. The greens might be a little small but they run extremely slow, which is probably why this course is so popular. It can really be a big benefit if your short game is not that tight. The staff here are surprisingly friendly as well, which is something I rarely notice at a golf course. So if you are looking for an easy course that is very reasonably priced, this is a good course for you. Just hope you don't get stuck in a big line of 5-somes, or you'll be here all day. read more
