The gentleman ahead of me was from out of town and with his family when he offered to buy me something from off of the menu. I was already chopping it up with his young son while waiting in line and I assume he just felt some good vibes while being in good spirits. It was their first time visiting the shop also. I wanted that Biscoff Taco that I had been seeing on instagram. Unfortunately, they ran out. lol. So I grabbed the Oreo Cookies and Cream ice cream taco. They are currently priced at $10 and in my opinion it was worth it. I enjoyed it. It was frozen and cold like it should be. Creamy and crunchy. I can imagine it being way much better on a hot or humid day. It was really good. I began eating soon as I got back in my whip lol. They have many options on their menu. Some items I would like to go back and try soon. If you haven't already, pull up and check em'. I heard the spot is owned by a young teenage entrepreneur and I find that to be dope and inspiring all in itself. Wishing nothing but tremendous abundance and success to the company and team. I would definitely choose this spot over Baskin Robbin's any day.

The place has this classic ice cream shop feel with pastel aesthetics mixed into a modern clean vibe which mixes practicality with style. I LOVE the glass panel decoration and the front decor which are simple details yet convenient decoration. The options have an interesting range in diversity, from ice cream and drinks. Their combinations are so unique, blending trendy flavors like matcha, honey, and many more delicious flavors. My favorite flavor I have tried so far, was the Dalgona Affogato--which I picked because I was thinking of the squid games. The dessert was so smooth but the honey was slightly overbearing. If that is not to your preference, they have other options that can certainly fit to your taste buds. The ice cream is perfectly sweet and an excellent treat in this summer weather. The honey crisps placed on top of the ice were so little, which I wished they had a bit more since it tasted so good with the smooth ice cream. Another thing I hoped was for the affogato to be a bit bigger portion. But then again, I am unsure about the sizings of affogato since this is my first time trying it. Thank you Honeymee Gardena for the experiance, hoping to try more in the future. (Update: Making this edit because I accidentally spelled the cafe name wrong in my previous review which I apologize for. The typo was made because when I was writing the review, I was also very busy so I wrote everything in a hurry and wasn't able to make changes. And yes, this update took so long to be made because when I write reviews, especially in this case, I often do different reviews all at once.)

After 4 samples and fun conversation with the staff, I ultimately settled on a trio of: - Banana King Cone. It has soy, gluten, and nuts. Stone fruit jam swirled into vanilla ice cream with toasted biscuit chunks. - Saltine Dream. Organic vanilla ice cream loaded with caramelized saltine crackers dipped in chocolate and a rich fudge swirl. The banana ice cream was the best I've had, but my favorite in the flavor trip was the saltine Dream. Excellent flavor with excellent texture. Winner of the night. Recommend this place! But it was too late to make it to my usual Long Beach location which closes at 10pm. So, it was a pleasant surprise when i found out that the Downey Location closes at 11pm. So, this was my First time at this Downey location at the "Downey Landing" Outdoor Mall. Lots of parking available out front. This is one of the parlor style Handel's locations. I arrived at 10:15pm. There was a descent line but it was moving at a reasonable pace. You order at the window, you pay and wait for your order. The Space outside is nice with a limited amount of seating in a common area. The building is well lit and you can listen to some nice background music while you wait for your order or while eating. For those who don't know Handel's. Their ice cream is made in house daily at every location. And the flavors are seasonal. So, you wont always find the same fruit flavors. You'll also find different flavors at different Locations. Today i ordered 5 pints to go. Flavors in order were... Black Raspberry Chunk Peach Peanut butter parfait Key Lime pie Meri's Choice (never seen this one before) When i got home. I had a sample of each, and although they were all delicious. The 2 that stood out the most were the Peach (made with real peaches) and the Peanut butter parfait. The Key Lime Pie could also be a top place contender. In conclusion. The Ice Cream is always excellent at Handel's. The portions are generous. The prices are reasonable and the service is always good. I once again highly recommend trying them out if you have not already.

The line moved efficiently despite the steady stream of customers, and the staff remained friendly throughout our visit. Best of all, the portion sizes are incredibly generous. A small serving is practically three scoops, offering excellent value. **Strawberry Ice Cream (Waffle Bowl): 5/5** Handel's truly elevates a timeless favorite with this exceptional strawberry ice cream. It had an irresistibly creamy texture while allowing the fresh, vibrant flavor of real strawberries to shine through in every bite. The crisp, freshly made waffle bowl added a delicious buttery crunch that perfectly complemented the luscious strawberry ice cream. **S'mores Ice Cream (Chocolate-Dipped Waffle Bowl): 3/5** This rendition of the beloved campfire treat had plenty of potential but ultimately missed the mark. While the ice cream itself was smooth and velvety, the graham cracker flavor overshadowed the toasted marshmallow and chocolate notes. The chocolate-dipped waffle bowl added a crisp textural contrast and a subtle hint of chocolate, but it wasn't enough to make up for the otherwise one-dimensional flavor profile. While our experience was somewhat hit-or-miss, Handel's demonstrated why it has earned such a loyal following. With its extensive selection of flavors and substantial portions, we're excited to return and explore more of the menu.
