Tamales meal with rice and beans and a burrito dinner with rice and beans.
    David M.

We come here often and its quick and reliable. Looks like they are remodeling a bit and it certainly needed a little TLC. I am always shocked by the prices here. I mean seriously did they not get the memo on inflation? A burrito dinner with rice and beans is $8.99. A enchilada meal with rice and beans is $6.99 and a tamale meal is $6.99 with rice and beans. Seriously?? Taco Bell costs more than that. Friendly staff at the restaurant and we always get fast friendly service. Can see this restaurant is a family owned restaurant because workers bring kids in and they are really well mannered. Its not the best ever tasting but its authentic and a great menu with great prices. We will definitely be back when we get our Mexican cravings.

Fabulous experience as always. Had a delicious el pastor chimichanga dinner. Great portions for the price, meat was seasoned beautifully, didn't skimp on the cheese. They also have the best rice. I'm bummed I don't live by a location anymore

Since my first review I've loved this Mexican Reasturant and have driven the hour drive from my home to come here often sometimes weekly. I'm so bummed that I will not be back after this weeks lunch. I was sitting in the new booths closet to the Cooler . I had just asked for the bill and was putting my food in a take out container when something moving caught my eye crawling up the wall was not one but two cockroaches. They weren't baby's but about the size of a quarter. Had I not moved they could have crawled on my stuff or on the table who knows I was sick to my stomach and shocked to see this. If you are looking for a big free lunch I'd chose somewhere else :(

I love Mexican food. This is a little diner/market. It isn't clean, but the food and service are great. I've stopped here before for lunch. I happened to be driving by today, was hungry, and I poked my head in to see if they serve breakfast. Thrilled to find out they do!! When I looked them up to do this review, I noticed that it says they open at 10. Glad I didn't look at that first, because I walked in at 9. I had huevos and chorizo, which was great. They also gave me chips and salsa (totally unexpected and very happy to see them hit the table). Super cheap, too.

I would call it a 3.5 stars if I could give half stars. The elements are all there, the TLC in the seasoning of the meat is just lacking a little. Looks like a legit Mexican taqueria like I'm used to in more authentic Mexican neighborhoods. Prices are good, $1.89 a taco and they got the usual meat options covered (carne asada, pollo, lengua, chorizo, tripas) I got a carne asada and a pollo taco which were pretty good but could've used more lime and onion/cilantro. They were pretty good - best I've had so far in the greater Detroit area- but still lacking a little on the seasoning category (you can just add some of the great house salsa verde or rojo to compensate though) Also got a chicken burrito to go for dinner later, also a good price at $4.99. It was a pretty good burrito but I wish it had a little Mexican rice and it was again seasoned a bit more. Still a solid place for legit Mexican authentic food at great prices. I was in pretty sold on what I got but it wasn't amazing - I will however go back and investigate the other options next time I'm in the area!

Been looking for some authentic Mexican tacos for a while and I think I just found my new favorite spot!

I wanted this place to be five stats. It definitely had authenticity. The Hot sauce was serious. Not typical gringo crap. Admittedly I got to go food 45 minutes before close so I might not have caught their best. I got a Cubana Torta which was good, it had all the right ingredients. They were just a bit uneven. I would take one bite....magic. next bite all that flavor was missing. Maybe it was tossed together quickly and unevenly. We also had a stuffed pepper which was hot, but not much flavor to offset the heat. I think I need to try again at peak hours sitting down.

Mexican Stew. Delicious broth with a variety of meat and veggies. With 4 fresh soft corn tortillas.

This place is authentic. Amazing tacos truly like In a street side family restaurant in Puebla or Mexico City. Not fine dining. Also a decent market with quality cuts of meat and Mexican baked goods.

Had to start with a Margarita, of course, and it was fine. Could may have a touch more alcohol, but was very tasty. I'm no expert on mole but this was maybe the best I've ever had! The burrito was delish but, OMG, the spicy chicken in the tostada was outstanding! I seldom finish my plate but did today! The coffee was hot and fresh. Place was spotless inside and tables and chairs were hand crafted at great expense. We will definitely be back !

I was curious as I saw some folks talking about the birria ramen and the first thing I thought was that I must've been living under a rock because I've never heard of birria ramen. My wife and I began the meal with chips and salsa, which is served with both red and green salsas. The red salsa had a bit of a kick. After that, we ordered chips and queso, birria ramen, hot Cheetos birria balls, and a walking taco. Of these, the birria balls were by far the best, and were my favorite part of the meal. The birria ramen was very cheesy, but enjoyable nonetheless. The chips and queso and the walking taco were standard. For our entree, we ordered 5 tacos. The ones we got along with my ranking of them are below: 1. Quesabirria (shredded beef) 2. Asada 3. Quesabirria (lamb) 4. Lengua (beef tongue) 5. Al pastor All of these were legitimately worth getting. The lamb had a gamey taste to it, and the lengua had a texture that took a second to get past. Lastly, we got both the caramel and regular churros. Of those, I preferred the caramel. Birrieria El Zacatecano is a place I recommend trying, and plan on returning to in the future.

I was sort of hesitant about dining here, but the place is a okay. There's obviously limited parking and seating here, so FYI it's not good for groups. Maybe a party of 4, tops. I reviewed the menu and kind of scoped the place out when I was inside. There's a wall and door that separate the restaurant portion from the station itself, so that's good. Some of the tables were dirty and looked like they were in need of being cleared, so it made a tight situation even tighter because it meant I had to sit right smack dab in the middle since there was only 2 other places to sit. My server was nice and answered a lot of my questions. The menu's decent but it's mostly dinner entree's here. I went with the 2 tacos that came with rice and beans since I was kind of hungry. Sadly, they don't have barbacoa, just ground beef and steak, in regards to meat selection for tacos. There's also pork and chicken, but since I don't eat pork and didn't feel like chicken, that kind of narrowed down my options to what i was going to get. As for drinks, they also don't have any fountain pop here at all, nor do they serve glasses of water. You have to purchase bottled water or no water at all. I think it's a $1 a bottle. They have can's of coke and some Mexican pop, and that's kind of it. I docked a star for the limited drink options because it was kind of a bummer. Plus, since seating was limited and the place wasn't packed, the tables could have been cleared sooner than later. As for the food, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I mean, it wasn't life changing but definitely good and the beans were awesome. The rice was good, and I mixed it with the beans, so that was tasty. Tacos were very yummy and over all, it was worth visiting here. Regardless of the tables that needed to be cleared, I wish they would at least have glasses (or Styrofoam cups) where you could at least get refillable ice water or something. Maybe they don't have the space, I'm not sure, but that's kind of a thing for me. Overall, a decent quick lunch spot or place to carry out from.
