La Cucaracha is the reason why, I grew up in Leuven and frequented this restaurant regularly. As a result I compare all Mexican I eat with this joint and often I am disappointed. The food is really good, the menu has been unchanged for a long time but like they say: never change a winning team. By the way, if you do long for some variation, you can go for their daily special. I have tried most dishes on the menu, but I typically go for Antojitos Mixos which means mixed appetizer but I eat it as a main and I can guarantee, you won't regret it: it is a flour tortilla with 10+ dishes on it. You will be filled with Mexican goodness! The service is also on great: you can feel the warmth of the people serving you, they are helpful, friendly and polite. The only minor downside is that it is always packed so they are often super busy and it is sometimes difficult to grab their attention (also make sure you get a reservation!). After leaving Leuven, I still long for the great food and service. It is more than a nostalgic feeling, every time I go back the food manages to convince me that La Cucaracha is a great eat. A Fantastic First Visit to Holy Guacamoly in Leuven…read more We ate at Holy Guacamoly in Leuven with my partner and were greeted by this wonderful individual who deserves a standing ovation for being such a fantastic employee. Neither of us had ever been to a Holy Guacamoly, so we really didn't know where to begin. Nina walked us through everything and was awesome about making suggestions. She made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. We ended up with the Super Nachos and the High Protein Bowl. Both were fantastic, and we actually ate the whole thing in one sitting. That is quite an accomplishment for two people who notoriously eat half of our meals and take the rest home for a late night snack or even breakfast the next morning. The cherry on top was when we asked her for a recommendation for a good place to get chocolate. She gave us a great recommendation, and we actually went there that same evening. Another great suggestion! We are only in Leuven for a few days, otherwise we would absolutely revisit this wonderful find. If you've ever been to a Chipotle the shop here is the same style. They make the burrito in front of you and you pick what you want out in the burrito. The veggies and the salsa are good. The rice is not as flavorful as it could be. Its definitely a bit more bland and spiced differently than what one would find in California. It would be good if they followed the style of many other burrito shops where guacamole is free if you don't get meat.

You can see they're refining the process with each new Bell - the ordering and delivery was faster than the original Eindhoven outlet, and since it's smaller and has fewer seats, there are more people doing take out. It was BUSY, but reasonably fast (I mean, once you get past the people who don't know what a burrito is "..is it like pannekoeken?" NO.) The food was served fast and was nicely stuffed. My wife's nachos were perhaps fuller and more satisfying than at Eindhoven, and I had one of the specials (yay! Specials!) - the Triple Double Crunchwrap with lots of jalepenos...wonderful!
