I'm going to give this supermarket a three because of prices. Now from the moment I walked into the…read morestore, I was overwhelmed because of it being the kind of market it was. I was quite happy to see some items I was familiar with but because I'm not Asian, I would think that that it would be some one around to help answer some questions, maybe guide some one twas the many options of a particular item they have. Example, I went looking for a certain kind of vinegar to have with my soup dumplings, found the section but no one was around to help me figure out which one to choose from all the options they had. I mean they had many customers going in there knowing exactly what they wanted and what to look for, but for someone like me, I just wished they had more staff working or around to help customers as myself. Overall I do like the market because they not only have food for preparation, but they also had hot cooked food, a fresh seafood/fish area, and kitchen appliances along with household items. The prices are also quite high for some basic products, that you could find cheaper elsewhere. Im gonna yes for another visit but I just can't give any thumbs up or down. I can say Happy Yelping!

There is a decent selection of imported snacks here, but it's not worth the overall store…read moreexperience. If you are black or come into the store with somebody black, they will have security follow and question you. Also, I've gambled with buying the hot prepared food around 3 or more times, and it always tastes stale and disgusting. The store is most likely leaving hot food out longer than they should. For better options in the area try Teso, and if you have the time I would recommend going to one of the many Asian groceries in Midtown, K-Town or Chinatown.

Let me preface this by saying my non-Yelp kid had already visited Manahel months before I ever…read morestepped foot in here. She splurged on a few honeys and had nothing but good things to say. So one Saturday afternoon, I finally stopped by with my mom. The space itself is airy, with like floor-to-ceiling windows that let in beautiful natural sunlight. The sun hits these whimsical, almost 18k-gold-looking sculptures on their shelves, giving the shop an elevated feel. The shop is small- but it's the kind of place where you want to slow down and really look around. Manahel offers a nice variety of Yemeni honeys, each with its own benefits. I ended up choosing a ginger honey and another infused with lemon, while my mom went with the ginger for herself too. In addition to honey, they also carry oils for hair and skin, which was a nice bonus and made the shop feel more holistic instead of it being one-note. Let's talk price- it's definitely on the steeper side. The smallest jars I purchased were about $30 each. For me, it felt like it was for the greater good- especially since I teach and my students are always sick. It was quality, intention and something I'm actually using for my health and wellness. There are still a few other items I have my eyes on. Honestly, Manahel feels like a 3-in-1 spot where beauty, their tradition and wellness come together- and that to me, makes it worth to return.

Beautiful store, the owner is so welcoming & friendly. Their honey is phenomenal & healing. I'll…read moredefinitely be going back! Happy Yelping!
