Great race!!! I've always wanted to run the LA marathon. I have a big family who live in SoCal. A week before the race I was worried that it would be cancelled due to the Covid-19, but they decided to go ahead with the race. I could have gone either way, I've trained hard so I wanted to do the race but understand that a large marathon attracts not only runners but spectators, families, friends and so on. The LA marathon made sure that we were safe and they would do everything to keep us safe. Which I believe they did. All volunteers wore gloves, while passing out water to the runners. The start line was good, plenty of porta portty, typical start line food and water The Expo was great, lively, had plenty of hand sanitizer stations. Overall, I was glad I was able to run it.

Good marathon overall and one of those classic races you should do. Bonus points: TONS of bathrooms at the start - not only a ton of port-a-potties, but they also let runners into the stadium to use the bathrooms (and take on-field photos). All the classic LA landmarks (almost) are on the route Shuttles from a variety of locations to race start and back. Meh: The point-to-point makes it very difficult for spectators, particularly if you've traveled here for the race and didn't rent a card. You might as well do something else and track via the app. The text alerts were dreadful. Husband finished at 11:30. Text alert came at 9:30 p.m. to tell me he'd finished. Shuttle service from the finish line was pretty hinky. The drivers weren't clearly given instructions so there was a lot of waiting and not a lot of wayfinding to get brain-dead runners to the shuttle pickup location. There's not an associated half on the same day. That would really be nice.

First marathon in the books (4:35) and it was crazy! This year, more than 27,000 people came to run the LA Marathon. It was a scenic course starting from Dodger Stadium, going through landmarks in LA and ending at the Santa Monica Pier. Those 26.2 miles were not easy but there were plenty of water stations, free snacks, bathrooms and supporters the entire way. More than halfway through the race, there was even a company spraying CBD on all the runners' tired legs! Definitely a fun marathon that I would want to do again.

What an amazing event! Well organized. Staff was educated and friendly. I was not a runner but part of the awesome cheer station at the half mile point. Loved watching the elites, bikers, handicapable, and even first timers conquering such a continuous quest! The city services, passing enforcement and police were prompt in directing, cleaning up and reopening the streets as well as keeping all of the crowds contained and safe! If 26 miles intimates you, (because it sure as hell does me!), no worries... stand along any part of the route and cheer on those that decided to run from the city to the sea! They'll appreciate your encouragement!

That was all part of the Amazing Santa Monica Race...that took just about a grueling 5 hours to compete....during the process you don't know what to expect... Bob was a great host, comedian, commentator, etc.... The only downside is the Santa Monica version is pretty new so we didn't have a ton of groups competing...positive side our team wins a medal cuz not enough groups are competing!! A MUST DO activity for anyone in the area or visiting! I'll definitely be signing up for the LA race soon.

If I can give this six stars out of five, I would. If you are a fan of the TV show Amazing Race,…read morethis will be right up your alley. While this is a 6-7 hour experience and it doesn't involve flying places, or dealing with obtrusive camera crews following you, and there aren't prizes for coming in first at every leg (there is a prize if you win the whole day), it's a nonstop experience with different elements of the amazing race. Solving puzzles. Memorizing facts. Some competitive play. Some cultural learning. My advice if you sign up is READ THE CLUES carefully. It was a joy teaming up with my wife as we zoomed through Orange County on a fun adventure. Bottom line, would I do this again? Absolutely.

This review is for Race LA 2023…read more If you are an amazing race fan, this day was one of the most entertaining, most dynamic, most creative adventures I got to have that fulfilled my Amazing Race fantasy. It was just like a leg of the amazing race and more. What is it: A day long adventure of competition with other people, you open a clue and complete a challenge or race to the next location! Pros: - The Challenges were like the amazing race (Memorization, Puzzles, Acting, Building, Counting, Search and Finds, Escape Room Puzzles, and Math). - The organization was really well done. Each of the locations had clear parking and it we didn't have to pay for any of the parking - The locations were so neat and embraced different cultures similar to watching on the amazing race - The after party and hanging out with people was so much fun! - The staff and volunteers were awesome and did such a good job! Cons: Be prepared that there are equalizers. Just like on the amazing race there will be locations where you get stopped and other teams are able to catch up. At first I was frustrated because I was like we are losing time. This is a reality of the actual show! If you haven't seen the show before, just be prepared! Also know that if you are running in the back of the pack, they need to keep the pack connected so some people may get to skip a challenge. If someone passes you doing this you may feel frustrated, but know that you are there to experience cool things! Count it as a cool opportunity to get to do a challenge instead of skipping one! Tips for doing well and preparing 1) Read the whole clue (You will feel rushed and see people leaving and feel you need to leave. DON'T DO IT, READ THE CLUE) 2) Use Waze over Google Maps 3) The first half of the race is preparing you for the last half. There will be at least one equalizer! The last half of the race is what matters so learn from your mistakes early 4) Bring a ziplock bag to keep track of your clues 5) Go in and have fun. Connect with other teams! While winning is nice, the win is the fun you had along the way I would 10 out of 10 recommend this to any reality tv fans or people who love scavenger hunt races

Yet the experience was nothing more than displeasing... The Bingo event itself was a 10 game 3 card set, and it cost $20 for charity, awesome! But, little did we know that playing Bingo here would come with ridicule, hostility, and a vibe of just "getting this over with". The even was slated to start at 7:00 so we arrived at 6:30 to eat, but they didn't start till 7:30 without even telling anyone waiting, which began to annoy many customers. The intermission was also supposed to be 15 minutes but when from 8:05 to 8:40... As the game went on, they would call the balls so rapidly that it was very difficult to process and keep up. In addition, they don't display them. When they were asked to slow down, he gave a stern "No.", which honestly came off as a racially charged response to the woman just trying to keep up. They just do this for your money, it most likely doesn't go to charity, and they don't have a sense of actually just having a good time playing bingo. Hamburger Mary's needs to reassess this event and their continuation of the "Bingo Boy" ...who is essentially just that. Acting like a child, trying to get what he wants. Which is just money.

My wife and I won several man on man porn DVDs in a bag full of condoms and lube. Even if we have absolutely no use for any of this, it was still hilarious to win it! It was especially hilarious when another girl won and our Bingo announcer made a joke about how all the lesbians are winning the porn...umm, yeah....she wasn't a lesbian! Oh, we laughed so hard! So now we have a buttload of condoms and lube (bun pun intended) and know a cool place to spend Wednesday nights! We were lucky enough to find street parking on a rainy night, and the rain was nice enough to stop for us when it was time to leave. Bingo is $20 (wifey and I shared). Alcohol and food are available and the servers keep coming around, even amid the Bingo card throwing. If you are drinking a lot, you might want to have a friend play with you so you don't miss an important box on your stripper pole or rim job! I just feel sorry for whoever has to clean this place up when the night is over. The floor is *covered* in crumpled up Bingo cards and anything else people could think of throwing!
