If I can give this six stars out of five, I would. If you are a fan of the TV show Amazing Race,…read morethis will be right up your alley. While this is a 6-7 hour experience and it doesn't involve flying places, or dealing with obtrusive camera crews following you, and there aren't prizes for coming in first at every leg (there is a prize if you win the whole day), it's a nonstop experience with different elements of the amazing race. Solving puzzles. Memorizing facts. Some competitive play. Some cultural learning. My advice if you sign up is READ THE CLUES carefully. It was a joy teaming up with my wife as we zoomed through Orange County on a fun adventure. Bottom line, would I do this again? Absolutely.

This review is for Race LA 2023…read more If you are an amazing race fan, this day was one of the most entertaining, most dynamic, most creative adventures I got to have that fulfilled my Amazing Race fantasy. It was just like a leg of the amazing race and more. What is it: A day long adventure of competition with other people, you open a clue and complete a challenge or race to the next location! Pros: - The Challenges were like the amazing race (Memorization, Puzzles, Acting, Building, Counting, Search and Finds, Escape Room Puzzles, and Math). - The organization was really well done. Each of the locations had clear parking and it we didn't have to pay for any of the parking - The locations were so neat and embraced different cultures similar to watching on the amazing race - The after party and hanging out with people was so much fun! - The staff and volunteers were awesome and did such a good job! Cons: Be prepared that there are equalizers. Just like on the amazing race there will be locations where you get stopped and other teams are able to catch up. At first I was frustrated because I was like we are losing time. This is a reality of the actual show! If you haven't seen the show before, just be prepared! Also know that if you are running in the back of the pack, they need to keep the pack connected so some people may get to skip a challenge. If someone passes you doing this you may feel frustrated, but know that you are there to experience cool things! Count it as a cool opportunity to get to do a challenge instead of skipping one! Tips for doing well and preparing 1) Read the whole clue (You will feel rushed and see people leaving and feel you need to leave. DON'T DO IT, READ THE CLUE) 2) Use Waze over Google Maps 3) The first half of the race is preparing you for the last half. There will be at least one equalizer! The last half of the race is what matters so learn from your mistakes early 4) Bring a ziplock bag to keep track of your clues 5) Go in and have fun. Connect with other teams! While winning is nice, the win is the fun you had along the way I would 10 out of 10 recommend this to any reality tv fans or people who love scavenger hunt races

This place was super nice inside of a plaza in Little Tokyo. It's located on the 3rd floor and there is parking in the structure which can be validated by the staff in X Lanes. I was very pleased with our time there - we made a 9 pm reservation and was able to add more time later. We ordered food - some hits some misses but everything was decent. Our party ordered mocktails and cocktails - the verdict on the drinks was half and half. I thought my mango mule was just okay. It was lacking the mango flavor. The staff were accommodating and the location was clean and fun! We will be back!

When we first sat down, our server greeted us but never came back to take our order for food or drinks the entire time we were there. Around 5:40 PM, I went to the front desk to ask if we could extend for another hour since we were planning to order food and drinks. I explained that our server never returned to take our order, but the staff at the front didn't seem to care and just said they were "full" and couldn't extend our time. There was no attempt to fix the situation or acknowledge the poor service. To make things worse, our lane time was cut off about 15 minutes early even though we paid for a full hour. Another thing that made me uncomfortable was that the server said he needed to hold onto my credit card to keep the tab open. I agreed because we planned to order more food and drinks, but given the lack of service, that felt questionable. I'll definitely be keeping a close eye on my statement to make sure there are no unauthorized charges. Overall, very poor service and a frustrating experience. I wouldn't recommend this place.

After I found out we were going I looked up the yelp reviews and was severely disappointed. We went ahead and downgraded our ticket from vip to GA since we figured it would be a bust and didn't wanna throw away more money. This event was nothing like last years! We had a really great time. There were no lines for anything. The tots were like buffet style? And I never saw people waiting for them. There was a little alley with fun old games and there was usually one open. They had a larger scale Jenga. Not the huge one but much bigger than the standard. There was a main stage on that floor and lots of fun seating around there. Mini golf we did not check out. It looked small and my boyfriend said it wasn't free. There was lots of music and fun seating all around. Nice large pillow fort where the karaoke was. The munchie station there was giving out cereal. They had an inflatable horse race I wanted to try out until I saw someone fall forward on their face (would have been me too!) the guy running that was really fun and nice, thanking us on our way out. They also had this weird room where you draw on everything including men in bodysuits plus another area to play with play-doh. There was a cool old hippie bus to hang in. We didn't take part in the silent disco or the prophet but the prophet always had people in there and we didn't want to interrupt. Cool concepts on both though. There was also a cool smokers lounge. There was lights and visuals everywhere that really make it feel like a kaleidoscope. They have obviously stepped it up significantly from last year and I wish I would have had some good photos to prove it but they also had good bars with strong drinks ( and I did I mention the cool smokers lounge?) I HIGHLY recommend this event and would even go next year if they keep it at this level and maybe add some different experiences. (Keep the mini golf, wanna try that 4/20/20)

Congratulations to Fil Am Arts and FPAC Committee and of course volunteers for 25 years of offering…read morethe Festival of Philippine Arts and Culture to the Southern California Community. For 2016, FPAC was held for the first time at Echo Park Lake, a newly renovated city park and a beautiful venue for the festival. I haven't been to FPAC for a couple of years, and I was a little disappointed at first when I checked online and found out that the festival is down to a single day. When the festival was held in San Pedro, it was a 2-day event filled with two performance stages, food booths, Filipino craft vendors, demonstrations, etc. Even though it's down to a single day, however, FPAC 2016 had the same degree of excitement and pride as in previous years, attended not just by Filipinos and Filipino Americans, but a diverse group of Angelenos representing all races and backgrounds. Throughout the day, the performance stage offered performances by Filipino and Filipino American artists. The emcee was the amazing and talented Giselle Tongi, the host of Channel 18's Kababayan Today. We got the chance to catch the dance troupe Kayamanan ng Lahi (translated "Treasure of our Race") as well as Broadway star Jon Jon Briones (Miss Saigon). Kayamanan ng Lahi is truly an L.A. treasure, offering dance workshops to all ages as young as 5 years old. The youngest dancers of the troupe definitely stole the show. Jon Jon Briones, who starred recently at East West Player's production of La Cage aux Folles and will once again star as the engineer in Miss Saigon on Broadway, is another Filipino treasure who graced the stage at FPAC 2016. Plenty of Filipino food was offered at various food booths at FPAC 2016. Vendors included Neri's Turo Turo, Kapamilya Restaurant, The Park's Finest, Magnolia Ice Cream, Manila Sky, Enseymada Project. Due to the long lines at Neri's, we chose Kapamilya Restaurant, located in Fountain Valley (4 Stars for the Chicken and Pork BBQ sticks). We also finally got to try Enseymada Project (4 Stars for the yummy desserts). There were also various Filipino vendors at FPAC 2016, offering a variety of crafts as well as clothing. Previous reviews stated that there was a lack of vendors when the event was held at Grand Park in 2014 and 2015, and this was definitely not the case in 2016. Why not 5 stars? FPAC 2016 happened to fall on a very hot day in L.A., and Echo Park Lake does not have enough shade. It would have been nice if organizers made more tents and canopies available for attendees. Also, there were not enough seats set up for the audience at the performance stage. Moreover, there was no consistency between the food vendors whether they accepted cash or FPAC bucks/food tickets. We were originally going to get The Park's Finest, but they only accepted FPAC bucks, but there was no clear signage where to get FPAC bucks/food tickets. Finally, I wish that there was more publicity for the event. FPAC 2016 was pretty well attended, but there's room for FPAC to grow. The FilAm Arts website, for example, was not updated with the FPAC schedule and vendors until the week of the festival. I would love to see FPAC grow and get even bigger and better in the future. Don't miss it in 2017!

I highly recommend a visit at FPAC 2014 for the food and cultural performances. There's also a…read moreculinary arts center if you want to learn how to prepare Filipino food and where you can sample free food and drink. A great way to get a taste of the culture and food of the Philippines! The setting this year is different from year's past in San Pedro over looking the sea. More of a central location this time and the new location seems to attract more non-Filipinos (including foreigners) than the more secluded San Pedro park location. Instead of charging an admission fee, the event at Grand Park is free! Set on three different levels (areas) below City Hall, the feeling is a lot different this year because you'll have to walk up and down some steps to reach each area. There's two stages, the main stage (Legacy) and Generations Stage. The big names such as comedian, Rex Navarette, cultural performances, and celebrity MCs usually are at main stage. To taste the food, you'll have to buy non-refundable tickets with cash or credit card. T-shirts are available for $15, water is $2, and malongs are $25 at the FPAC stores/information booths. There's also vendors selling different items at the event such as apparel. I recommend trying the tropical popsicles (calamansi, ube-red bean, azuki red beans), shaved snow or halo-halo. There's also vendors selling Filipino food such as lumpia, pancit, and Filipino-style BBQ. On the upper level, there some Filipino-owned food trucks such as White Rabbit truck. I recommend trying the sisig tacos. Ciclavia runs through Grand Park and FPAC 2014 on Sunday, so expect road closures around the area. I'd recommend taking the Metro (red line, exit Civic Center) or plan ahead to find paid or street parking and arrive knowing which streets will be closed. FPAC 2014 will be another hot day on Sunday, so don't forget to drink lots of water to stay hydrated, bring beach mats or blankets, hats, and sunscreen.

In an industry where it's easy to feel taken advantage of, he was transparent, fair, and genuinely looking out for me--not just trying to make a quick buck. He took the time to explain everything, didn't upsell me on anything unnecessary, and made sure I actually understood what was going on with my bike. That level of integrity is rare. You can tell right away that Marius isn't just great at what he does--he's a great person. The kind of guy you trust immediately and know you're in good hands with. He's earned a customer for life. I couldn't be happier with the experience and I'll be sending everyone I know his way. Highly, highly recommend.

I wanted a communicative, honest and competent mechanic to work with me/my insurance and this was him!! Lemme tell you, Marius has his sh** together. The boy knows bikes and not only did he and his assistant fix all the broken things (including finding another shop's almost fatal mistake) but he also worked with me to customize upgrades that I wanted. He's knowledgeable, experienced, polite and flexible. I was always updated with progress with pictures and was asked thorough questions to be sure he was understanding my goals. Never did I feel rushed or taken advantage of and he was gracefully patient with me the whole time. Although there was no immediate rush as to a deadline, my bike was ready sooner than later. Handed him a bit of loose cash for doing extras I asked for which he almost refused, so he's one of these guys who appreciates a tip but doesn't expect one. But tip him, folks! The shop is tucked away and secure. He's busy with alot of bikes and things around but it's very organized chaos. Everything is clean and they take care not to damage anything. Overall 11/10.
