Not your grandma's bingo for sure! This is fast-paced, randy, boozy drag queen bingo~ They aren't kidding when they say they'll spank you with a paddle for calling a false bingo. Crowd and host(ess) are equally LOUD and rowdy, so I would come back with some earplugs. Witnessed a chick at a neighboring table fall from her stool because she was piss drunk...and she had to be carried out~ Yes, it really is THAT nuts! I actually thought I smelled vomit but it turned out to be asiago from someone's spinach dip. Food is typical bar fare. I stuck to finger foods (half orders of fried mac and cheese balls & fried pickles were approx $5 each) that would not get in the way of my game. $20 bingo is available Wednesdays and Sundays. Giant drinks...don't order a double. Just don't! A double (more like, quadruple) goose and soda cost $15. The valet charged me $4 to self park in the side lot.

    Katrina got to host!

Never fails to not entertain me. This is the 3rd no 4th no 5th? 7th? AH well point taken, I've been here many times and truly enjoy bringing new people to experience this AWESOME place. Jefferey is an incredible host here. He brings out the best of bingo as well his guests do. The servers at Mary's are such sweethearts! Makes me feel like family almost. I do have to say I'm a bit bitter for never ever winning, but don't you worry I got my little mischievous plans for next time ;) Newcomers: Like I've said before ; Don't expect this to be a boring ole bingo, get ready to get your panties wet, throw some trash, and get your yelling on b-e-c-a-u-s-e... Who thought Bingo was only for your grandmas & grandpas??? Come to Hamburger Mary's and you'd be surprised that Bingo is so damn fun for everyone, well, not all ages are permitted, as long as you're 21, you're good to enter!!! First and foremost, thank you Katrina M for arranging this UYE and made a deal with Hamburger Mary's just for us, crazy Yelpers, we totally had a fun night and it wouldn't be as great without your help in making reservation and such!!! Now onto the real review! =) For $20 donation, you got to enjoy BINGO and having fun with your friends. Food was definitely a let-down, but last night we weren't here for that. About 25 of us were there for hell-of-a-fun night of BINGO and how do we play it??? LOUDLY!!! One person from our group won the big prize that included Ray-Ban sunglasses, $100 Apple Gift Cert, one bottle of Grey Goose Vodka and many more stuff inside the basket. It's so good to pelt people when they won each game, while they were running around the restaurant!!! I definitely can't wait to come back and do this once in awhile, it's so much fun and brings up old memories when I was playing Bingo at home with friends!!! In this place, once you do DRAG, you could NEVER go back!!!

Oh man, Wednesday nights at Hamburger Mary's is a MUST! Where else can will you find hot drag queens spanking people's bottoms with a bingo paddle, the opportunity to pelt someone with losing bingo cards, an actor from The L Word teaching you the sign for "rim job" and "lesbian", sexy prize baskets, and delicious food? I can't think of ANYWHERE else! It was such a fun experience and best of all my friends and I had to best seats in the house! We were lucky enough to not have to wait in line, got free appetizers (calamari, wings, etc.), and extra bingo cards b/c one of my friends had won their "FREE BINGO NIGHT" package from another Bingo night (it also came with tons of sex toys, lubes, etc). I heard that it usually costs $20 for about 6-8 rounds, but if you give them your email addie, then it will only cost you $10. I didn't have to pay for my Bingo sheets since my friend had an extra set. YAY!!!!!! I suggest you get there early because my friends said there was a lonnnng line when they got there. I arrived just after they let everyone in AND snagged an awesome parking spot right outside HM so I completely missed the line and wait. YAY! Too bad I wasn't as lucky with my Bingo gaming. I was almost always 1 spot away from BINGO and then someone else would win! Just FYI, if you and another person calls BINGO at the same time, there will be a tie breaker. The drag queen will grab a bunch of balls and you and your competition will have to choose one from his/her hand and whomever gets the bigger # is the winner. The loser then chooses a random prize from their American Idol Bag of Crap. It usually consists of stickers or markers from the 99 cent store or something to that effect. It was such a great night. I want to go again!!

Geez. Where the hell do I start. I've been invited to this bingo event before by various friends. I've always turned it down. Hand it to some yelpers who finally got me to go to this friggin' place. Coming from a strictly heterosexual male, I can honestly say this about Legendary Bingo @ Hamburger Mary's: FAB - YOO - LUSS Considering the price, time and money you can spend elsewhere... HM seems like a bargain compared to the entertainment you receive there. For a suggested donation of $20 bucks you get a set of bingo cards that will last you a couple of hours. Add to that some $5 margarita and martini specials? Can't knock that. Even if the drinks are more mixer than alcohol. Just pound em and get tipsy on the volume of liquid. (They will upsell you to a double shot for $2 more) The food prices are expected and nothing you haven't seen before. The food is standard bar food. Greasy and hot. But you're not coming to Hamburger Mary's for food. Bitch please. You're not coming to HM for a hamburger. You're coming here for Marys. Drag Queens galore. They make an old folks game into something fun. You can't help but have fun. You can resist but soon you'll find yourself screaming and cheering for the next number. Cheering LOUDLY!!! In a short while you'll either want to get pelted... or get bent over for a spank. I came in a little hesitant. That resistance went away quickly once you feel the energy of the room. Jefferey, Bingo Boy, is a fantastic Master of Ceremony. He keeps the pace going with interesting twists on the games, some cheeky remarks and enough cheeseballs jokes. He makes it quick and easy for newcomers. He's quite gentle on the virgins. Its made and easier and fun process because of all the lube available. The gift bags they offer as prizes are worth winning. Lots of cool schwag. The movies alone are worth winning. All first run movies, most in Blu Ray... not crap DVD from the Target bin. I'd venture to say, if I were culminating one of those 'must do in LA' lists, I would put Legendary Bingo @ Hamburger Mary's on that list! p.s. if you stay for bingo... you gotta stay for the burlesque show afterwards. http://www.yelp.com/biz/follies-burgere-hamburger-marys-west-hollywood#hrid:YmWEyqUnUgnIIxQ6YAtEvw Props to Katrina M. and her booty for organizing the UYE that popped my drag queen - bingo cherry.

It's not Bingo until you get smacked on your ass by a gorgeous drag queen named Belle Aire! Well at least that's how it worked for me when I thought I had won the current round of Bingo and was in fact very, very mistaken. Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary's has got to be one of the BEST ways to do a good deed. You pay 20 dollars to play the funnest 10 rounds of bingo you have EVER played and all the money goes to the group or charity that they are sponsoring that night. But Beware! There are some very competitive people that come to this event (aka: our table) and if you win, you will run around the restaurant all while being "pelted" by the losers with their crushed up (losing) Bingo cards. The pelting however, is totally worth it! You get awesome gifts! I can attest to this as I actually did end up winning last night and went home with a bag full of beauty products, soaps, t-shirts, condoms and a In-Home Makeover! Sadly though, there was no porn in my bag (many of the other prizes included porn)... Other perks include the celebrity announcers that sometimes show up. Last night Louis from Dancing with the Stars was there. And man is he ever so yummy! I am definitely looking forward to going back to Bingo soon! Did someone say G-54? "Ooo! Oooo! "

Recipe for Legendary WeHo Bingo -- * 6 parts Yelpers * 20 dollars * 2 parts Drag Queen * 1 part Bingo Boy * Generous helping of celebs calling the balls * Dash of callbacks that are raunchy-goodness ("Legs to Heaven" B-11!) * Sprinkle of names of special Bingo-named games like Rim Job, to taste ;-)~ Mix all parts equally and keep cocktails flowing throughout the night. (Charity is sexy.)

A gorgeous venue, a historic landmark with the architecture design. The space is huge almost feels like a maze if it's your first time there. The outside area holds a spacious space for a crowd to socialize. I've been here twice now and both were for music industry events that were curated on behalf of Grammy week. Many industry professionals were gathered and live music was performed with some vendors present, catering to the guests with what they offered. The night was beautifully crowded and I felt safe in this lovely space.

Despite being an older theater, the seats were still pretty comfortable. It was a free show and it was a dance company primarily performing hip hop and Latin dance. The quality of the show was superb and the sound quality was also fantastic as the music really took over the space. It was easy to see everything going on. Afterwards, they had a chance to interact with the dancers in their gorgeous lobby and outdoor space. I would highly recommend attending their Sunday programming!

We are so lucky to have such a gorgeous open amphitheater overlooking the Hollywood Hills that have wonderful acoustics wherever you sit and world class talent you wouldn't see anywhere else. It's a wonderful place to gather with friends or family and enjoy a variety of shows and events that you won't see anywhere else in the world. It's also been host recently to a variety of musical features, symphonies with movies, and even comedy shows. If you sit in the garden boxes you can order food in advance (make sure you do it at least before 6pm the day before your performance online if you want it delivered). Or you can bring food and beverages (no cans allowed and also you have to bring empty bottles to fill your water and depending on the event you should look at policies to bring alcohol like wine. Parking can get a little tricky. I like Lot D but that is currently $55 online (also recommend buying in advance). The closer lots are more expensive and/or reserved for VIP or season ticket holders. Another option are the park and ride/ shuttles that will get you to the base of the Bowl and it's a short uphill walk to the entrance. Typically doors will open 1.5-2 hours before the show. There are picnic benches and tables outside and inside the bowl area if you aren't in the garden boxes and people also often bring food to the benches. Seat cushions available to rent as well. Escalators/people movers available for some of the higher seats to help with the hike up.

I've seen the likes of Gustavo Dudamel, Joshua Bell, Mariah Carey, Deadmau5, Harry Connick Jr., and the LA Philharmonic here, and every concert felt completely different from the next, some more peaceful and elegant, others far more chaotic. The classical music concerts were definitely my favorite experiences overall. They were less crowded, more relaxed, and honestly just felt more immersive. Parking also seemed cheaper during those events. Concerts like Mariah Carey's Christmas special, however, were packed. The atmosphere was louder, more hectic, parking was significantly more expensive, and unfortunately there were quite a few people who seemed more interested in filming themselves for social media than actually enjoying the performance. As for parking: LISTEN UP! Plan ahead. I usually park farther away near the Dolby Theatre area because it was cheaper ($10-$15), though it does require a lot more walking and cheap parking isn't always guaranteed. Other times, if I simply wasn't in the mood to suffer the walk uphill and feel my thighs burning, I paid the extra $40 for closer parking. Worth it some nights tbh. The walk up to the Bowl can be rough because of the incline, especially if your seats are toward the back, but thankfully there are escalators throughout the venue. Comfortable shoes are a must!! Bring an extra pair in case you want to wear your dressy shoes. I'd also recommend bringing extra money for food and drinks because prices are definitely steep. Personally, I usually either eat beforehand or just a budget for snacks there. During the classical concerts, I'd get charcuterie-style snacks and sparkling rosé from the marketplace near the restrooms, which made the evenings feel even more magical. One very important warning: if you're attending a massive concert like Mariah Carey's Christmas special, prepare yourself mentally for the traffic afterward because it is absolutely brutal. My husband and I actually left 2-3 songs early just to avoid sitting in traffic for eternity, and I don't regret it (i simply regret not seeing Mariah sing the legendary All I Want For Christmas song Live) Despite the crowds and occasional chaos, the Hollywood Bowl is still one of the most iconic experiences in Southern California and somewhere I look forward to revisiting for years to come especially once my son is older enough to experience it with us. Do go at least once in your lifetime!

I have never been shot nor hardly ever told to leave. I have wandered into Courtyards, sacred sites in Old Jerusalem and all kinds of buildings that I'm not supposed to go into. Tonight I was invited to my old twin friends birthday party at the Lemon Grove at the Astor Hotel rooftop and I was a tad early. As I crossed the street there was a metal stanchion blocking most of the entrance to the Avalon Club with one door open. I wandered in and people were milling about setting up for an Emo night with the band called Waiting For April. I had seen this club change over the years but I had no idea it was still operating and it's a beauty with tremendous history and cavernous rooms with bars and side rooms. I wandered around and upstairs I found a merch table and a drum kit with guitars and some guys warming up. I started talking to them and it turns out that is the headlining band. We talked music and the struggles of a young band, I gave them some insight from my experience, they gave me their CD which is quite nice and I proceeded to check out the historic place. I wandered through every part of the club while the band was doing sound check including the Bardot room and unlike many clubs, you really feel the history here in the design and architecture of this historic venue. Here is the fascinating history: The Avalon Hollywood (also known simply as Avalon) at 1735 N. Vine Street in Hollywood, California, near the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street (across from the Capitol Records Building) was built in the Spanish Baroque (Churrigueresque) style by architects Henry L. Gogerty and Carl Jules Weyl, with decoration by Steffan Horbaczek, it has operated continuously as a live performance space since opening--never as a movie theater. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 as part of the Hollywood Boulevard Commercial and Entertainment Historic District. It started as the Hollywood Playhouse (1927-1930s). In 1942, the theater was purchased (reportedly for around $105,000) and renamed the El Capitan Theatre (distinct from the more famous one on Hollywood Boulevard). NBC acquired or leased the building in the early 1950s and converted it into a television studio. In 1963, ABC invested heavily (around $400,000) in renovations--including extending the stage, adding camera equipment, control booths, and other TV infrastructure--and briefly renamed it the Jerry Lewis Theatre for Jerry Lewis's short-lived (13-week) ABC variety series. From 1964-1970: it was The Hollywood Palace. From 1970s-1990s: The Palace Music Venue. ABC sold the theater in 1978 to businessman Dennis Lidtke, who restored it and reopened it in 1982 (or around 1987 per some accounts) as The Palace (sometimes called the Hollywood Palace). Seating was reconfigured for concerts (raked floor leveled, bands on stage), and it became a music club and event space. It hosted rock concerts, HBO specials (e.g., Sheena Easton, Bruce Willis), the Ramones' final show (1996), the American Music Awards, and film appearances. It operated as a live music venue through the 1980s and 1990s. 2002-Present: Avalon Hollywood Nightclub with a major renovation that transformed it into a modern nightclub, concert hall, and event space with standing-room/dance floor capacity (around 1,250-1,500), state-of-the-art sound, lighting, and visuals. It emphasizes electronic dance music (EDM), DJ sets, and live performances, with upstairs space later becoming Bardot, an intimate lounge/restaurant/club opened around 2008. Notable modern acts have included Tiësto, Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Skrillex, Swedish House Mafia, Eric Prydz, Armin van Buuren, Kaskade, and many others in the EDM scene. It has also hosted award shows, benefits, screenings, political fundraisers, and private events. In recent years (2024-2025), Insomniac Events (founded by Pasquale Rotella) partnered with and then acquired the joint marking the first ownership change in about 50 years and ensuring its continued role in dance music culture. The Avalon has adapted remarkably over nearly a century--from legitimate theater and WPA productions to burlesque, TV studio, variety show epicenter, rock club, and EDM nightclub--while retaining its core as a live entertainment landmark in the heart of Hollywood. Its architecture and location have contributed to its enduring appeal. I definitely will return.

At the time I didn't know what Gay was, but I stood up for my childhood friends who were bullied because they were "different." I've held hands in support as they've come out to loved ones, said good-bye at hospital bedsides because they lost their battle with HIV, celebrated when it became legal for them to marry. I've formed a tight bond with my "brothers" from another mother. We've become a close-knit family. My niece is gay. My uncle is too. I don't judge. I love and accept them for who they are. My "brothers" and I have attended WeHo Pride together for over 20 years. It's one of our traditions and now our nephews have become a part of that tradition too. Since the Official LA Pride Festival moved to Hollywood, the WeHo Pride Parade seems smaller than years past. It's still fun and we enjoy it. Then we head out to the street fair and check out the cool vendors. The festival always has big name acts that perform. The highlights for me this year were Big Freedia (Queen of New Orleans Bounce) and Kylie Minogue. All people should be treated equally regardless of who they are or who they love. "Do not allow people to dim your shine because they are blinded. Tell them to put on some sunglasses because we were born this way." Lady Gaga. #ProudAlly

It's almost that time of year agaAaAaAaaAaaAaAin~!!! The time when members, advocates and allies of…read morethe LGBTQIA+ Community gather to celebrate no longer having to hide in shame. My Dad was gay, actually dying of AIDs ten years ago, after contracting in the wild 80s of the disease. He had to pretend, hide and lie about who he was (i mean, he got married & had 3 kids) which is truly a sad thing of the times back then. He was fired from his high level position when his company found out in the 90s - that's how crazy shit was back then. Because of my personal connection to the LGBTQIA+ community (aside from tons of other friends and family members being members) and seeing someone have to truly hide for most of their life, I will always be an ally & staunch advocate for the community. Being open & honest is something we should all be able to delight in. Okay, getting off my soap box now to actually review the event...I LOVE WEHO PRIDE!!!! LOL~~~ I went to Chicago Pride many times while living there, but WeHo Pride hits differently. It actually was a bit more family friendly simply because everyone wasn't wasted out of their minds & chugging shots while watching the parade - that's chi pride. But in WeHo, people may be blasted, but everyone is so kind, supportive, happy, chill - no fights or asshole-ery - just good vibes all around with a little puff of smoke going in the air here and there, respectfully. WeHo Pride is a free festival happens the first or second week of June and hosts 200k people. It includes an art festival, street fair, a huge concert called OUTloud and the highlight for me - the WeHo Pride Parade!~ The WeHo Pride Parade is happening on Sunday, June 2, 2024 this year at Noon! It runs on Santa Monica Blvd from Crescent Heights Blvd. and San Vicente Blvd. with vendors, celebrities, music, colors and fun. I just love it! The street is ALIVE during the parade. And this year Cyndi Lauper is the Grand Marshal --- okay true colors! OUTloud (the concert series) always has great artists but this year's headliners include Kylie Minogue, Janelle Monāe, and Diplo. You need to prebuy tickets in advance and it happens at the West Hollywood Park. I have not yet been to the LA Pride Fest so I can't compare the two. But I am so in love with the WeHo fest which is ran so smoothly, with texts leading up to the event keeping you informed. It's incredibly organized and I love that. Text "Pride" or send a rainbow emoji to (323) 848-5000 to get all the WeHo Pride 2024 deets 〰 straight 〰 to your phone! I highly recommend attending the event for some fun, craziness and good vibes!!!!

My wife and I enjoyed the Think X show on December 30 and had a wonderful time. This is the type of…read moresmaller venue that makes everyone feel at home. Yes, we all bumped up against each other, but there were never any hard feelings about it. Instead, everyone always had a smile. Despite the fact that the bar was PACKED for the show, our server was almost unbelievably attentive. Even closing out our tab only took 2ish minutes, with a couple hundred people present. the drinks were good and STRONG, too. This is what I like - if we're going to pay L.A. prices for drinks, make them good...and they did! As for the show, it was incredible and the sound was remarkable (and important note, as good sound is sometimes lacking in smaller venues). Plus, the tickets were only like 35 bucks! WE DID NOT get to eat, as all of the tables were booked, but I could see and smell other people's food and it looked INCREDIBLE. This was our first trip to The Mint, but it definitely isn't going to be our last. Thank you for giving us an amazing night!

The venue is great if you like small-ish intimate music…read more -Musicians are great, no problems there. -Ambience is great, however not enough seats/tables. You must get there early if you'd like to find a spot to sit and enjoy. -Wait staff is MEH. Additionally, they should really tell customers that the water bottles they bring out cost $4.00 each. They didn't tell us until we asked for a "full breakdown" of the bill. -Also, keep an eye out for "included tip" followed up by additional tip line. I thought was sneaky.
