Stayed at The Henry for 2 nights last month and this is the restaurant inside the hotel…read more Absolutely 5 stars all the way! But just a little background, I am into art and architecture so this review is largely influenced by that. Decor - Just like the hotel, the restaurant is downright artsy and eclectic, but yet not overwhelming. There is a perfect balance of whimsy and structure. Ambience - Ate very late dinner (think 11:30 pm), and two days of breakfast buffets that came with my reservations. Place was only 15% filled, so not crowded at all. I actually enjoyed the somewhat empty and silent feel. Menu - They have a good mix of appetizers, soup, sandwiches, pizza, pasta, main course, and dessert. I personally felt the pricing was adequate, with most items in the 300+ peso range, with the exception of some main courses. Food - Tried the adobo flakes, calamari, and surprise, surprise - the seafood pasta... (hint - Almost everywhere I've traveled to, seafood pasta is my go-to). ALL WERE DELICIOUS!!! For the breakfast, the selection consisted of typical Filipino full breakfast items, which honestly, I wanted and craved for: Fried garlic rice, corned beef, eggs, somekind of pasta, sausage (my kids ate and didn't like it), and my favorite - fried bangus. They had the typical breads and a waffle maker, fruit, and so on. Still enjoyed it. Service - They are friendly, and they checked to see how we were doing - something not normal in most restaurants in the PI. If I wasn't pressed for time, I wouldn't have mind eating here over and over again, but I was. However, I would love to come back to The Henry and definitely eat at Rica's again! It's probably one of the most enjoyable places I've ever been to!

Staying at The Henry and this being the restaurant downstairs meant that I ate here a few times…read moreduring my stay. That and the fact that we are greedy folk who order more than what 2 people ordinarily would eat in a single seating means that I've had a good range of the menu. They start every meal with these long crackers and an addictive salsa. Not sure how chopped tomato, capsicum (peppers) and onion with olive oil can taste so good. Notable mentions must go to their forty chicken - very small but delicious chicken cooked with 40 cloves of garlic and butter. Oreo crepe and their frozen layered dessert were also very nice. All pastas ordered were al dente and very garlicky. You just like garlic if you go to Philippines! Attentive service, coffees were not bad, wines were cheap at 150 peso per glass. And of course, their interesting decor.
