I booked a mani pedi for my mom, sister and myself for 3pm on a Friday. It was the day before my sister's wedding so I had booked it well in advance. We arrived at 3 and the place was packed. One of the women giving a manicure told us we could pick our colours so we did. We then stood around for a bit in the waiting area being ignored. Eventually I was able to flag someone down and told her we had an appointment. She said they were running behind and would be ready for us at 330. Around 320 we were seated in the pedicure chairs. At 340 someone came and started working on my sister. My mom and I we're still sitting there with our feet in the water. What's the point of us having a pedicure together if only one of us gets done at a time? At 350 someone came to my chair, eating a granola bar. Then for some reason she decided to start on my mom. At 4 (1 hour after my scheduled appointment time!) the woman who had been working on my sister started to work on my feet. After a couple of minutes another woman became free so she started working on me and the other woman went back to my sister. The staff kept getting up in the middle of our pedicures and doing other things. It was very distracting. Somehow when she was trimming my toes she ripped some skin around my big toe and it hurt a lot. She tried to say it was because of how my nails were growing but it didn't make sense. I get pedicures all the time and no one has ever had a problem trimming my nails. I thought at this point most salons had stopped using those razor blade things so I was surprised to see this place was using what looked like a metal cheese grater. I opted out of that. The staff themselves were very nice, but awkward and very disorganized. This is probably not their fault, it's the fault of management. On the plus side they did let us bring our own wine in and drink it. We left the salon at 530. It shouldn't take this long for a basic mani pedi. I got a French manicure and it was very crooked. Overall the experience was not at all relaxing or comfortable. It was supposed to be fun and relaxing for us before the wedding and instead it just added stress to our day bc it took so long and got us off schedule. I will definitely not return here and do not recommend this place. It's now been two days since I got the pedicure and my feet are cracked and sore, much worse than before I got the pedicure. read more

I went here to get my acrylic overlay removed and a shellac manicure. When the lady was cutting my nails, she asked me if I wanted them shorter, so I said yes. She proceeded to cut them super short, to the point where it hurt. While she was cutting my nails, she ripped a few nails onto the bed. When it came to removing the acrylic, the nail drill was used with a very heavy hand. Even after the acrylic was all gone, she went back in with the nail drill two more times, in order to try and remove the part of the nail that was damaged while the nails were being cut. By the time she was done with the nail drill, my nails were bright red, and it hurt to the point that I thought that she had filed down to the nail bed. When she was filing the tips of my nails, she pointed out that my nails were very weak, I guess in a way to justify why she was having difficulty shaping my nails evenly. The final product visually came out okay, even if the shape is a bit uneven... but my nails are destroyed I naturally have thick and healthy nails. I am aware that acrylic can damage the nail, but I have NEVER had this kind of damage done to my nails during removal before. My nails are currently so thin and brittle that doing simple tasks like doing up buttons or taking cards out of my wallet are challenging. I couldn't even tuck my shirt in this morning because it hurt my nails to the point where I was afraid that they might crack. I am genuinely concerned about losing some nails while I wait for my nails to grow back in. If you do go to this salon, make sure they cut your nails appropriately and don't go crazy with the nail drill. I don't want anyone else to experience this level of discomfort read more

I stumbled upon LA Luxe Nail Bar when I was perusing Instagram. I noticed the beautiful nail art and was instantly drawn in. This isn't your moms palm tree or funky swirl, this is the stuff you see on the runways. Cool french designs, cool shapes, plus feathers, marble, geometrics, dreamcatchers, you name it. I made an appointment and I'm glad I did. Everyone who came in after me without one didn't get in. They were booked solid! The salon is bright and beautiful. It was also really clean. You are asked to put on slippers upon entering which I was okay with. There was a little basket of them by the door. The woman that did my nails was so cute. She always made sure I was feeling okay and comfortable. She also gave me a bottle of water which was a nice touch. I got a shellac manicure, normal pedicure, and 2 beautiful designs on my nails and it came to about $62. It is a bit on the pricier side but definitely less than other salons in the city. You definitely get what you pay for! Keep in mind, they take debit or cash only. I'll be back and I cant wait to get more fun designs! The girl there is SO talented! I definitely suggest going if you want some beautiful nails. read more

Everything about this nail appointment was bad. First, I didn't get my nails started until 20 minutes after my appointment was booked for. I was then given the WRONG type of nails.. I asked for gel and got acrylics, and was CHARGED for the amount of gel. I was also put between 2 different people without being told, my stuff being moved without asking in between when I went to wash my hands. I was also cut with the buffer on 2 fingers, both bleeding and nothing being done about it. I was also pressured into getting shellac as well, which I didn't intend on getting. After seeing a few posts on Instagram of friends getting their nails done here.m my sister suggested we go. This was the best nail experience I have ever had, hands down. The atmosphere was so much more relaxing that other nail bars I'd been to and the decorating is beautiful. I went for the pedicure and shellac manicure (which is still flawless 6 days later and it held up to all my cashier job activities) and my nails look amazing. The pedicure was so relaxing and the message chairs are phenomenal, I'd never had the message experience at other places. We were also given a bottle of water which was amazing. The lady who did my nails was lovely, I didn't catch her name but she was so nice and recommended a colour for my toes after the one I picked was too light. The staff here are so friendly and polite. They definitely treat their customers well because there was a steady stream of clients the entire time we were there. The only downside is it's so far away for me since I live in the east end. I am planning to go back and will likely book an appointment for my wedding and engagement shoot nails. read more

So I'm on vacation this week and I have a few things coming up, such as concerts and family visiting, etc. I wanted to pamper myself, because honestly, I never do. I love treating myself to a mani/pedi for this week. So I went to the search bar on Yelp to find a place, and this place was the first on the list with 5 stars, so I said why not? I had called the same day to get an appointment and they had me in at 1:00pm. I walked in and was brought to the wall of nail polishes to pick out my toe colour, which I chose purple, because come on, it's the best colour. I was then taken to the pedicure chairs, and my feet soaked in a massage tub of blue water. It was delightful. The aesthetician was very good at her job, from the filing, to the actual toenail painting. The massage on my feet and lower legs was very relaxing. They also give you a bottle of water for your time there as well. I had my fingernails shellacked as well, same process of dipping my fingers in the warm water, filing, and massaging of my hands. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this. The aesthetician made small conversation with me, but mostly talked to her coworkers, which was fine, I didn't mind at all. I had a beautiful cobalt blue done on my hands, no design this time. The price of the shellac manicure and regular pedicure came to about $62 after tax, and of course tip, a little on the expensive side, but worth it for the quality and time that was put into my hands and feet and will last a long time. For payment though, they only take cash or debit, no credit card. read more

Was in London for a couple days and stumbled upon this nail place to try out. My nail technician went through different nail colors with me and put up with all my requests. Often times technicians do apply polish and paint over lines, so my fingers sting a bit when they go through the gel light but she was really careful and didn't cause any irritation. The jewels were placed on precisely and on centre. Overall for my first time, I'd recommend this nail bar. read more

I booked mine and my friends appt for 1. They took us at 1:40 didn't even start our nails till 2. I had 3 different ladies doing my nails all yelling at each other in different language. My friend was left for over half hour one her nails had started.. they were all fixing each other's mistakes and yet my nails still look like shit. They only painted and did not tidy up my nails around. Also when I went to pay they tried to charge me an extra 10$ and charged my friend an extra 17$ (lady claimed she heard my friend say she wanted gel nails but I made two spots for acrylic ?? La Lux is my go to nail salon. I've been a client off and on the last couple years and these girls do not disappoint! My usual acrylic fill with shellac lasts up to two-three weeks. Loved my nails here more than I ever have! I got a gel overlay with shellac and shellac on my toes for a wedding shower girls day and it was so good! Some of the nail techs seemed rough and lacked communication but the girl I got was great! She chatted intermittently enough so I could relax but also communicated well! My nails were even and well manicured and the polish lasted over 2 weeks! Highly recommend- the atmosphere is awesome as well! A little far, but worth it! read more

Bad service. Came all the way to the salon only to be told the nail technician called in sick. Nobody called me to inform me my appointment needed to be cancelled or re-scheduled.
