This place was on my way home and I had seen the ads on socials so I thought I'd check it out. I'm always down to find good tacos. The place is nicely designed and good feel. Very clean. The employees are also very friendly. I loved that right away you could see them making homemade tortillas which is a must and a big bonus for me if you're a taco shop. These are blue corn tortillas just fyi. I ordered a carne asada, al pastor, and fish taco and tried a couple of the salsas. For the price I was hoping that would be enough so I stopped there. The al pastor is actually from a spit/trompo which is the proper way to cook al pastor. It really bugs me when places claim to serve al pastor when it doesn't come from a trompo but just has the marinade. The tacos came out looking beautiful. You can tell they believe in presentation. You eat with your eyes first after all. As for the taste, they were good but not as good as I was hoping. The fish was cooked perfectly but didn't have much flavor. Maybe missing some salt and no flavor to the batter? The carne asada was ok and the al pastor a little better. I did end up leaving a little hungry but I do want to go back and try the burritos. Maybe those will pack the punch I'm looking for.

La Lola Taco has been on my husband's must try list for a few months now and we finally made it over there. We ended up with a burrito, carne asada fries, baja fish taco, and Al pastor taco. I wasn't in the mood for tacos, but the carne asada fries were amazing!! For the tacos you can tell that the tortillas are made fresh in the restaurant and my husband really enjoyed them. He thought the al pastor taco was a flavor bomb. My son also devoured the burrito and commented on how good it is. I would 100% go back to La Lola Taco and recommend to anyone.

This was my 3 rd visit to La Lola taco and I couldn't understand why such hot & cold reviews on yelp. With this last visit I now understand why- the 1st our food was excellent ( my 1st review) our 2 nd visit we found the shrimp taco over charred! But churros and other tacos very well done. Now for our 3 rd visit : 1st love the introduction of a kids meal - of fries / cheese quesadilla/ churros for $7.15 a perfect meal for the kiddos. Carne Asada burrito - good size & flavor - very good Los Angeles burrito- excellent- love the combo filling and perfect for a dinner Tacos: Shrimp - well grilled - chili crisp oil over done which gave the taco a over charred taste - removed the chili oil made it so much better Brussel Sprouts- loved the idea - but again the chili crisp oil made it seem over charred taste Al Pastor - good Baja Fish - excellent- a favorite We got a side of he beans and rice oh because our favorite. Good flavor and very well done Horchata Freeze - excellent House churros - excellent Next time I'll be asking for the chili crisp oil on the side or request one of their other salsa. I'll also be requesting a light char on my shrimp and Brussel sprouts as they seem to over char these food items! Our 1st 2 visits was at lunch time and the crew seems to take more care with preparation our last was for dinner! Our chips were also better prepared on our earlier visits .

This is to tacos what a steakhouse burger is to a drive-thru burger--same name, entirely different intent. Maybe call them craft tacos? This place is clearly trying to do something different. These aren't fast, overstuffed tacos; they're cooked to order, built on organic ingredients, blue-corn tortillas, and sauces designed for each taco. You can feel the intent to make something thoughtful rather than (USA) familiar. The Brussels sprout taco was my favorite--creative, balanced, and genuinely excellent. I also had a tasty shrimp, carne asada and al pastor taco. There's room to refine the execution. More protein is necessary and slightly thinner tortillas to improve the meat-to-tortilla ratio and let the fillings shine even more. These aren't deal-breakers, just tuning. Different, deliberate, and worth experiencing if you're open to a new way of thinking about tacos ... er ... craft tacos.

They have Fresh food that is made to order. If you want salsa, you need to ask; they have red or green salsa. I ordered the carne asada burrito. The burrito was huge and had a lot of rice and beans. I wish it had more steak and guacamole for the price I paid. There was hardly any steak and guacamole. The chips with pico de gallo and guacamole I liked the best out of my meal. I wouldn't order the burrito again.

We tried almost every taco and enjoyed each one! They each had a unique taste to them and the flavors balanced really well with each other. My personal favorites were the Al pastor and carne asada. I'd love to come back to try their burritos and specials!

La Lola taco has some really cool decor, that feels unique for the area. It's clean, well put together space with decent seating. I was able to try a few tacos, esquite, and a burrito, but I would definitely say that the burrito is the better value. It's a medium sized burrito and the price isn't terrible. The tacos were ok, but priced as a much higher category considering the size. Most people would probably need 3+ tacos. The staff was friendly and answered all my questions, there was a wait, but I think it was because of online orders. Overall, I think that the tacos are ok. I wouldn't mind trying them again in the future, and maybe a few other menu items.

I really like this new taco shop in SLC. What makes La Lola different from other taco places is the blue corn tortillas and the amazing flavors. We tried a bunch of their tacos. Our favorites are the carne asada, Al pastor and the shrimp with the shrimp being the very best! The tacos are a good size too. Much bigger than street tacos. Make sure to get the churros too. The service is top notch. They are so nice. The restaurant is a good size. Probably room for about 50 people. Seating is simple and casual. Food comes out pretty quick. Define would go back again when I want a good shrimp taco

I've been eagerly watching this space be remodeled into a restaurant and was super eager to try it now that it's open. The space looks super chic, with chandeliers and the works. Unfortunately, my experience with the food was underwhelming. The two tacos, burrito, and one cup of rice took a long time to prepare, even though my husband was one of just three people ordering food in the restaurant. When I got home to eat my tacos, I was once again disappointed. The tacos cost a lot, but the charcoal tortillas didn't really add anything taste wise, and there wasn't much meat. The grilled shrimp tasted great but were overwhelmed by the chili oil, and the pork was kinda bland. The rice was amazing though--but we only ordered it because there's no kids' menu, a big pet peeve for me. My husband said his burrito was pretty good, but overall, our experience was just okay.

The tacos were so flavorful and the homemade tortillas were the perfect touch. Can't leave here without trying the churros and flan! Will be coming back here, the staff was lovely.

I went here on a whim after I got a massage. The restaurant is a fun atmosphere with beautiful chandeliers and enjoyable music. The staff were so kind and the service was good. I got my food to go since I was getting food for my family. The carne asada was way too chewy! I wouldn't ever get that again! The other things were ok though.

carne asada and pollo asada tacos

We had such a great experience at La Lola! The employees were very helpful in making sure our large group had a table. The homemade tortillas were delicious! P.S. I would love to see some red pickled onions on the pollo asada for a pop of color :)

    Sandy L.

We got the LA burrito, three tacos (shrimp, chicken, al pastor), and churros to share. Everything tasted great! The meats had a good char on and flavor to them. Churros were amazing. Salsas were good, but none of them were spicy or had that kick we were looking for. We did think it was a bit pricey given the portion sizes... but we had a good experience and thought everything was delicious.

Absolutely delicious!…read more I got a BOGO free burrito coupon from their FB feed, so why not? So glad I did! I had the spicy green chili burrito--delicious! Smothered inside and out with their very fine green chili. The tortillas seem homemade, it was fresh and good. My wife had the carne asada burrito. I got a bite of it and the beef is delicious! Such good flavors. I also had the pinto beans and rice, both are very good. The horchata, made with almond milk, was creamy and just the right amount of cinnamon and sweet. They serve flour and corn tortilla chips with three salsas. The chips were excellent. The flour chips are deep fried, really good. The red salsa was the hottest but not bad for heat. The green was good. Now the crema sauce was my favorite, it is really excellent. Nice restaurant, comfortable chairs, nice decor that goes along with their theme. Looks like a comfortable bar. Service was friendly and accommodating. I would like to eat here again and take advantage of the FB coupon for their tacos. Highly recommended! 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!
