Also the enfrijoladas (like enchiladas covered in a black bean purée sauce). Everything was amazing! We also tried many bakery items from the beautiful display and our favorite was the guava and cheese croissant. Have you ever had the refugiado (guava and cheese strudel) from Porto's in Los Angeles? Yeah, it's like that but next level. Great coffee drinks and lattes too. Truly a fantastic spot!

The place has mainly outside seating, and we were fortunately able to get a table without waiting. I ordered a cafe americano and water, while the girlfriend ordered some juice. After perusing the menu, I opted for enchiladas in red sauce. The girlfriend got scrambled eggs. The enchiladas came in a small bowl, dipped in red sauce, with avocado, bacon, and topped with salsa and sour cream. The enchiladas were not as tasty as I hoped, they were rather bland. The coffee was ok, but not too potent. The ambiance is relaxed. Mainly Polanco locals come here, no bad vibes. The customer service was ok. They just need to add more taste to their food, and they will do better.

In the past few years, they've expanded to the US in two locations in Southern California. I wanted to see if it was any different in Mexico. The answer is a resounding yes. They're hot and crispy, while maintaining a fluffy center that you just can't find easily in the US. Their dips are pre packaged here. I like cajeta and condensed milk, but chocolate is also a top seller. My wife got an ice cream churro sandwich with mango ice cream. She loved it. The ice cream was creamy and the churros hot. We don't remember ordering this at home, but she really liked it. Most likely I'll be coming back before I go home.

Chocolate dip ($30 Mxn = $1.67 USD ) While the chocolate dip was on the pricier side, I did enjoy dipping my churros in the rich and smooth tasting chocolate. Overall, El Moro is a must visit! Fortunately for me, they have a location in southern California, so I can get my churro fix! This location only had 2 tables, but most people were getting their orders to go, and eat on the run.

The line was long, but was worth the wait. There are 3 sizes and you have the option for cone or cup. It's not the best gelato I've ever had, but it's definitely the best and freshest option we found in the city. The service wasn't the friendliest we encountered, but still helpful and quick. Bonus points for the open floor concept which has large windows facing the street, brining the nightlife inside as you enjoy a sweet treat. Plus, the flower they make is incredibly cute!! Definitely give them a try to satisfy your ice cream cravings!!

There is always a line outside, but it moves relatively quickly if you pickup. If you'd like to sit inside or outside, I'd definitely be prepared for a wait. The pastries themselves were expensive, but were filling. Overall, everything wasn't sweet enough and the flavors were very average. The guava roll had a tangy cream and there wasn't enough filling to pastry. The cacao roll also was tangy and had a waxy texture due to the nibs. I wished both were a little sweeter. The dulce de leche bun was also dry and very messy to eat. It did taste the best out of the three pastries though. My favorite from the trip was the beetroot juice, it was so refreshing.
