I've ordered flowers here twice and both times the flowers exceeded my expectations. There is a big wow factor that will undoubtedly impress anyone receiving. You can order easily and fastest online or by calling. This is the only florist I have been to that creates arrangements even more beautiful than their website shows, he is extremely talented. If you want to make a strong impression, this is the place to go. Their prices are about par for what I have paid before but the flower arrangements are bigger and more impressive. read more

A flower arrangement was delivered to me on February 3rd ... it is now February 20th and the arrangement is still as beautiful!!! All of the flowers are still looking fresh ... usually the Gerber's have weak necks, and the hydrangeas turn brown, and the roses fade, but not these!!! I've never seen such a long lasting and beautiful selection of flowers! I only added fresh water 2 times ... AMAZING! KUDOS, AND THANK YOU!!! I WILL RECOMMEND YOU TO OTHERS! read more

Dreamy! The most enchanting wedding flower sets EVER! As a wedding photographer, I've worked with countless florists, but La Jolla Florist truly left me in awe. Not only were the flowers absolutely stunning and perfectly matched to the beach scenery at La Jolla Wedding Bowl, but their communication and management skills were also top-notch. Despite a delay and the intense summer sun, they managed to keep the flowers fresh while giving me plenty of time to capture every detail. The photos are breathtaking--I couldn't be happier! Great, creative, best customer service ever! Owner (?) she is lovely, so customer focused from the color and style of the bride's gown, color of the bridesmaids and best men wear, to the color and types of flower arrangements and price. They are not after selling you the most expensive pieces but what sensory and visual experiences you want the bride/groom and guests to walk away with. Such a great experience that ended with the owner telling us her life story from struggles to success. Such a great shop, service, talent and flower knowledge, the entire experience is 10 stars!!!!!! read more

I volunteer at the Jw.org cart in the cove. I make sure to visit La Valencia Hotel for a cappuccino. My favorite part is walking in and welcomed by this magnificent spray of colorful flowers. They are not only regal but they are so fragrant. Something that is sadly missing at most florist. Today As I was smelling the roses I met Craig. He humbly mentioned who the creative genius who is behind the creations... Dorthy. His warm kind smiled out shines the arrangement. This shop has such a thorough happy worker. Craig is genuinely good and kind. The owners sure do have an eye for quality flowers and people on their team. read more

When's the last time you were blown away by a flower arrangement you sent someone? La Jolla Florist gave that to me. They clearly love making beautiful things. I got an orchid for a friend. It came in the perfect pot surrounded by small succulents that set it off perfectly. I was clearly not a local -- but felt treated like a regular. Can't recommend them highly enough. read more

Stunning flowers delivered with whimsical sea shells in the vase. Really helpful guy taking the order and giving me suggestions. I contacted Dorthy to do flowers for my last-minute wedding. I emailed her some photos of what I liked for my bouquet and my husband's boutonniere and we had a phonecall to go over which elements of each I wanted to incorporate. To say she nailed it would be an understatement. Everything came out absolutely beautiful, better than I had imagined! Delivery to the hotel was right on time as well. I received a gorgeous Mother's Day arrangement from La Jolla Florist, one of the nicest I've ever gotten (and much prettier and longer lasting than one from another local florist which cost way more). I had walked by this shop a number of times and seen some of their arrangements, so I was delighted to get one. It's now 6 days and it still looks fabulous; the roses are huge and still opening. My best friend ordered flowers here for my birthday. Ardi created the most beautiful arrangement and had them delivered well after they were closed to my hotel in Mission Valley. I felt terrible cause I was unable to tip them, so I felt the least I could do was write a review for them to show my gratitude for not just creating a beautiful arrangement but for sacrificing their evening and making a late delivery. Absolutely 5 stars! Dorthy is amazing!! I got married in La Jolla on 6/15. I am originally from northern Ca so planning a wedding down south was a challenge. But I first met Dorthy and her business partner Glen about a year ago when I began planning and we absolutely clicked. They are amazing, so genuine and kind, and creative. I knew absolutely nothing about flowers I put a lot of faith in them and they helped bring my vision alive! Again planning a wedding from far is hard and there where hiccups in the road but Dorthy was so accommodating. She made sure I was going to have the perfect flowers on my big day I also "needed" to have a circle arch, which is not easy to find or make. But again Dorthy went above and beyond. Best florist around !!! Will add more photos once I get them in from the photographers read more

I am new to the area due to a new job. Found this gem of a place. Purchased orchids for the new office and they were gorgeous!!

I highly recommend La Jolla florist!!! They are super responsive, and easy to call and talk to on the phone, especially important during this covid time when I cannot go to the business, and they make absolutely beautiful arrangements! I wanted flowers and a soft stuffed animal to be delivered to Scripps Hospital, and I also wanted them to text me a photo of what was delivered so I could picture it with my loved one, since the hospital doesn't allow visitors at this time. They very kindly texted me a photo of it, which I loved! I was very impressed and happy, I totally love the stuff animal that they chose! The flowers and stuffed animal were better than I had imagined and it had been delivered in less than 24 hours! Thank you La Jolla Florist!! read more

EXCEPTIONAL customer service. I had ordered a bouquet and requested it be delivered same day. I called and spoke to Darcy (I hope I caught her name correctly). When I picked out my bouquet (from the website) she respectfully asked what the occasion was for. I explained how my friend was airlifted from Cancun to La Jolla Memorial Hospital and will most likely have her foot amputated. She was very empathetic and explained how one of the flowers from the bouquet was not available bc her flowers are fresh on a daily basis. I asked for peonies and said I can have peonies if I was ok with next day delivery to guarantee fresh ones since they die very quickly. I appreciate the options she gave me instead of creating a bouquet that wasn't identical to the picture on the website. It made me feel great about the purchase bc I knew the flowers would be fresh, she understood the situation so was able to recommend appropriate colors of flowers. The BEST part of this interaction was when I called a couple of hours later to explain my friend will be transferred to another hospital in a few hours and I had no idea where she would be. I even offered to pay another delivery fee if they had to send the flowers back to the shop and wait for tomorrow once she settled into her new room. Darcy made me feel at ease by saying she will call me and keep me in the loop on where and when the flowers would be delivered. To my surprise she contacted me two different times AFTER they closed to let me know (1st call) the drivers next stop will be the hospital but is waiting to be let in to a gated community to drop off a bouquet so it may take a little longer than expected. (2nd call) to inform me the flowers were delivered. When I told her my friend loved the flowers and thought they beautiful, I was able to hear the joy in her voice. She is ABSOLUTELY amazing and can not believe how easy she made this for me since I live in San Francisco and I have no clue how far away the hospital(s) are from the shop. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE BEAUTIFUL AND BRIGHT BOUQUET! read more

Let me start with just saying book Dorthy! Before my wedding it took a few months to get us both on the phone to get the ball rolling because our schedules are both so crazy.. she never forgot about me and never gave up!! Moving to my wedding day.. I was running a little late.. like most brides.. hehe and she was already there waiting for me...let me tell you my arrangement was absolutely beautiful. My package was basic so I asked for a few changes to stay in my package but she went above and beyond for my arrangement. She added flowers I didn't even know existed. I absolutely loved it and dried it and still have it !! My bridesmaids I asked for long stems so it wasn't a ball and they were gorgeous and she even added extra roses to make it fuller. I had orders my arch arrangement at another shop and yess I regret it... but dorthy seen them and went to her work got more flowers and added to them and her husband helped .y family hang them up!!! she's AMAZING!!!!!! AND SUCH A SWEET HEART!! Shes extremely passionate about her work and it Definitely shows big time. Thank you so much for making my wedding extra special !! amazing work!!!!!! read more

How do I even begin to express what a wonderful experience it has been to work with Dorth & Ardi from La Jolla Florist. After all the time we spent planning the flowers for our wedding they feel like family now. The thoughtful attention to detail and open communication make working with this team an absolute dream. Despite the many challenges we had to face with multiple date changes and of course all the flower shortages and surge in weddings this past Summer Dorth and Ardi were nothing short of a team of miracle workers. They made it feel effortless to create such a gorgeous wedding day for us even though I know how hard they had to work behind the scenes. The bouquets, the flower crowns for the flower girls, flowers for our cake, center pieces and the flowers for our arch were all simply breathtaking. No shortage of compliments and it made for gorgeous pictures on our wedding day. Thank you! read more

I was hospitalized recently and my brother sent me flowers. They sat at the reception desk while was hospitalized and when asked about the flowers I told my brother I did not get any. He called LaJolla florist and they located the flowers and delivered them to me by 8:30 pm.the day of my discharge. I was thrilled with the bouquet and I think was the most beautiful arrangement I have ever received - and none the worse for trying to find me. I appreciate the extra effort to deliver it to me. We had an executive retreat and required some specific style floral arrangements to go with our events. One specifically, was an arrangement we needed for a beach party which consisted of hydrangeas with sailboats. They came thru beautifully. We received so many compliments on our flowers. People stopped by our event and took pictures of the stunning arrangement. The flowers were so fresh that I was able to repurpose the flowers for a dinner the following day. Typically hydrangeas don't survive long but mine continued to look beautiful a week later. The staff was patient and helpful. I enjoyed working with this team. read more

Dorothy is the BEST her arrangements go above and beyond. I wish I wrote a review sooner. This is my third arrangement from La Jolla florist. First was an orchid I received in December with the proper care as instructed by Dorothy a ice cube once a week mine was in bloom till April!!! I have never had an orchid last that long!!! Second arrangement was peonies my all time FAVORITE beautiful flowers. I wanted them sooner but she told me to wait till they are in season. So glad I listened to her advice they lasted much longer. I'm assuming they had been freshly cut and not been transported from who knows where. They lasted over a week with frequent water changes. My latest arrangement was designers choice. And I could not have been more excited a mix of such beauties white roses, Gerber daisy, eucalyptus, succulents, vernaculas, and more. Oh oh and her Dutch tulips!!!!! I had never heard of those beauties before and now I don't think I'll ever be able to just have plain tulips again unless there are some Dutch tulips sprinkled in. If your looking to wow someone or just want to treat yourself i highly recommend La Jolla florist I can't say enough about Dorothy and her work. read more
