The Island! This shopping mall is super classy. It's got all the brands that luxury people look for- Fendi, Gucci, Prada, Channel, Tiffany's. This place feels super safe- when I went, I was pretty much shadowed by security forces wearing armored vests with walkie-talkies. This is actually kinda the entrance to even fancier places, a ferris wheel, and high-end residences. The mall doesn't seem to have any public restrooms. There is no food court, just a smattering of high end places that are kinda tucked here and there throughout the mall. Parking looks challenging. I'd rather take the bus here. When I went, it appeared that they were expanding the footprint of this shopping mall. read more

This is a very upscale shopping center with all high-end stores and a few basic stores. Great place for shopping for designer stuff. You get back tax-free on your credit card at the airport or other offices that provide tax-free services. Great selection and reasonable prices. Prices for designer items are a few hundred dollars less than in the States. The service was incredible. Everyone was so helpful and kind. I felt comfortable in the area and they had plenty of military police around. They had a Fat Tuesday also. read more

This is my favorite mall in Cancun. There is so much here! If you like high end, the fashion show part has Gucci, LV, Golden Goose (my new fave), Prada, Etc. You can fill out forms online to get 9% tax refunded when you exit Mexico. There are the normal shops like Crocs, Zara, H&M, Abercrombie, Lululemon (expensive in Mexico), Adidas, DJI. There are lots of places to eat, be it high end Ryoshi (think $100 pp) or Hooters or Johnny Rockets. There is also a Senor Frogsshop here with loads of t shirts and hats. The lagoon runs thru the mall and their are almost crocodiles to be seen! It's a little difficult to get an Uber here, so walk to the Hilton Canopy and there is almost always one waiting nearby. read more

Great shopping mall huge with lots to see and do! There is 3 parts to this place. One is the super high end $$$ stores which is separate from the main complex and then two smaller mall complexes with lots of stores and restaurants to try. They also have an aquarium which was a cute little place with lots of interactivity. I appreciate that I was in close proximity to the mall from my hotel. However, it's an open-air mall, so when the weather is bad, you're still experiencing the elements for the most part. It is pretty massive with many options of shopping. However, I decided to choose one of the rainy days to check out the place so I didn't spend too much time here. I must profess, though - I'm not much of a shoper on a regular sunny day, so I probably would not have stayed too long anyway. What may have been my turnoff to stay too long was when one of the booths was trying to get me to stop. I'm not going to just ignore people, but I'm very good at saying No Thank you after I've said hello. They continued to ask me to stop , and I didn't just keep walking and saying no thank you. I'm used to that, but it was when they guy asked where my husband was that I became agitated but played it cool and said, "I dont know you tell me." Just way out of line and unnecessary. Yes, I was traveling solo, and my solo money could buy anything I wanted, but the comment made it seem like I need a man to make a purchase. That's what we were doing over here, and with confidence, I kept my money in my pocket despite experiencing another 4 vendor who was way kore couretesous in another part of La Isla. Very unfortunate, and yeah, it was one person I had an idiotic run-in with, but that's where I dtand until I get another opportunity to visit the place again. read more

We walked here every day from our resort to eat meals and ice cream, shop for souvenirs, bought antibiotics and sunscreen at a pharmacy, and we even rode a large Ferris wheel! There were many food options, and our favorite restaurant was Cambalache Argentinian steak house. Cancún is a very hot place even in the Spring so we greatly appreciated the large umbrella structures that kept the avenues shaded and cooler during the day. The place is very clean and safe. There were so many shops it seemed there was something for everyone. The prices were very reasonable. read more

I came here because I wanted to catch a tour that was meant and thought maybe I could purchase a few items here; however, I was underwhelmed with this mall. The mall is open, which I wasn't aware before I arrived there. The mall seemed liked an outlet mall from the outside, but had upper echelon stores on the ground level,which had armed guards next to each of those luxury stores. I wound up only getting some souvenirs and some ice cream from here, but i don't know if it was necessary worth the trip here. Not to mention, once you get to the food area, it's a lot of people sort of chasing you down to look at their brochures or wanting you to check out their restaurant, but as that wasn't what I was there for, it can be a little on the annoying side. I used to love a mall when I was in HS & college. It was the place to hang out, shop, and eat. Nowadays, I'm more of an online shopper b/c I just can't spend hours roaming a mall anymore. However, I needed to hit this spot up after leaving my trusty hoop earrings home. They have your variety H&M, Zara, & Vicki's. As well as your Louis Vuitton, Gucci, & and Prada, to name a few. I found a pair of hoops, not bug enough for my signature look, but I made dye. The mall is convietely in the hotel zone, so some can walk. It was a 12 min cab ride from my hotel. You can also purchase tours if you would like. They can be a little extra trying to get you to purchase, but just smile with a no, thank you, and walk by. Don't spend hours here. You came for beach and sun. But do come if you forget to pack something. read more

I really enjoyed this outdoor shopping mall with tons of stores and restaurants and deals to be found. If you need a pharmacy there were 2-3 just inside here. You can also find any manner of swimwear or coverup, some crocs, and loads of sunglasses. We also found some keepsakes for friends in some of the themed tourist stores and enjoyed browsing some of the more well-known shops like Swarovski, Pandora, and Sunglass Hut. It was an easy 2-minute bus ride for us for $1 a person and we had no issues getting there and back during the day. Highly recommend if you want to get off the resort for a while and shop - or if you need more sunscreen or something else bc the resorts charge $50 for $10 sunscreen you can get from the pharmacy here. read more

I'm giving LA Isla 5 stars. Thid is a nice outdoor mall.I mean, they go from very high end stores ( that have armed guards in front of them) to low end stores and souvenir stores. Maybe because I'm getting older but some those souvenir stores are expensive! So 99% of the stores are American, which I know because I've been here several times on different visits to have a nice walk. They do not sell items you can't get in America so when I see people walking around with several bags I just laugh to myself but that is certainly their business. They have a lot of food places to eat at. There's no food court. Most places are restaurants and not fast food. They also have a Starbucks and a Hooters. By the way, the armed guards are visible throughout the mall Isla is but they are definitely posted up at the high end stores. I don't know, it was comforting to me given the recent news about the cartel feuding near the Hotel Zone or tourist spots. I'll definitely be back to walk around and people watch and window shop. read more

Besides the numerous areas around Cancun for tourists to visit, we always make a point at visiting a few shopping malls in the vicinity. La Isla is one of the better places that I have been to! Yes, it is a typical mall, but they have so much to see, do and spend money on! We arrived here by taking the bus, which is absolutely one of the best ways to get there. Bus R1 or R2 come and go practically every 5-10 minutes, so you have freedom to spend as much time at the mall as you want without worry. Also, there are plenty of taxi and other transportation drivers available at your leisure. This huge mall of malls offer lots of unique shops, famous and name brand stores to more exclusive, high end stores. A variety of restaurants, bars, and other specialty eateries are located throughout the shopping centers. A marina is at one edge of the mall complete with water access for boating and other water sports. A nice canal goes through the shopping center with bridge crossings, man made waterfalls and fountains to add to the luxury of your experience. Other tourist attractions include an interactive aquarium, movie complex and Ferris wheel. Many hotels and private homes in gated communities are located nearby. With this in mind, I felt safe and secure wandering about. I really enjoyed my day here, even though I had to refrain from over spending. After all, I only had so much room in my suit case! Otherwise, I could have easily become a shop-a-holic! read more

This is not closed shopping mall, in fact it has themed like Venice canals, not sure boat is there or not. It was rainy day (Memorial Day weekend 2018) and we were here to dine out in THAI. But after seeing this, decided to roam around. They have Cinemax (?) movie theater, all typical American big shopping high end outlets, big aquarium, best in town restaurants, big souvenir shops. They have everything. They are working out one big giant wheel right outside the mall. In the night, the Mall looks very beautiful with its lighting, ambience and water canal. This mall is right in the hotel zone, any R1-R2 or any bus passing through you, ll get you to this mall. If you are in Cancun, come here for a night. You would like it. read more

This is an outside mall located along the hotel strip and pretty easy to access riding the bus. Its better to ride the bus than the taxis because the taxis charge like 10 bucks whrn its only 5 mins away while the bus is like 12 pesos ( less than 1 dollar like 75 cents) and you can ride anywhere. Just tell the bus driver where you are going and they drop u to the nearest bus stop of where you are going. Thid mall isn't too busy but it does have pretty much everything you can find at a typical mall plus some souvenir items and lots of places to take pictures. The only downfall is thst mexico is pretty humid and hot and an outside shopping mall is kind of hard to do in the humid heat. You just feel pretty gross and there isnt enough AC to keep cool. read more

Located across the street from the Westin along the Kukulcan boulevard ( zona hotelera) this is a great place to get some shopping done. They have an endless variety of mid to high end stores, souvenir shops, and touristy restaurants. If you're looking to eat Johnny Rockets or Hooters, you're in luck! There's also a Starbucks here for those of us that need their daily fix. Very convenient! We came here on our first excursion out of the resort. It was a 10-minute bus ride away. The shopping village is an alright place. It has many shops that sell tons of souvenirs and locally-made handicrafts. It also has a wing where higher-end stores sit. You can find quite a number of merchandise here that you can find in a typical mall in Los Angeles. Their facilities are well kept, including their restrooms. The staff is very friendly, and willing to direct you. There are several dining options here, but we did not go to them. Maybe next time. This is a great stop for some shopping in Cancun. This lovely shopping mall has expanded since we were here last year to nearly double the size. They've added a second zone. Shops include Zara (fashion), Liverpool (department store), La Parrilla (one of many restaurants), iShop, Millennium Jewelry (specializing in silver jewelry and ornaments), El Sol de Cancun (the giant Ferris wheel), parking, Innovasport (2 stores specializing in sporting goods), Canopy by Hilton La Isla (a wonderful new hotel, only about a year old) an aquarium and many, many other shops and kiosks--more than 160 in all. We didn't plan it, but it seemed like we ended up visiting the Mall almost every day that we were in Cancun: we spent our first night at the Canopy by Hilton; my wife came here to buy clothes, another day, we bought her a silver necklace, another time we came to dinner and to see the Ferris wheel; another time it was to buy a cell phone. While it turned out to be a focus of my trip, I recommend at least one visit to La Isla: either for shopping, dining or entertainment. read more

This place is an outside mall super close to the strip of the tourist hotels. I took the bus to get here within 10 min. It's bougie and has fancy places to shop and even has a LV store (ooh La La). The most annoying part of this place is how aggressive outside vendors and restaurant servers are as you walk by. I get it, they're trying to get business but no means no. My gf and I literally got followed like a quarter mile by an attractions vendor after we told him we were not interested and wanted to eat first. I was ready to punch him if he continued following me but instead we walked into a few stores and he got the hint. There's many restaurants to choose from. We ate at a taco spot right by the ocean and it was beautiful. We sat inside because it was hot and humid as hell. The margaritas we had were delicious. Fun place to walk around and kill time. We ended up booking a boat trip to XCARET and Isla Mujeres here and it was worth the monies. read more

This is a great shopping center in the Zona Hotelera. I would have given it five stars if it weren't for the timeshare salesmen harassing people at the main entrance but if give them a firm no and keep walking then you'll be fine. However, they will call out to you when you pass by. Every. Single. Time. We stayed across the street and came here every morning to go to Starbucks. We didn't do much shopping but they have lots of clothing stores, jewelry stores, watch stores, etc. There is also a souvenir shop with pretty good prices as well as some restaurants on the water inside the shopping center. It's a great place to stroll around if you have some time and the hidden gem is the breakfast restaurant next to the aquatic center where you can dine overlooking the dolphin pools. read more

Our hotel was the Westin Lagunamar across the street from La Isla - so this outdoor shopping mall couldn't have been more convenient. With familiar shops and restaurants as well as some more local ones, we felt pretty at home at La Isla, but also got the chance to experience some different stores, too. Super touristy, with workers calling to you from their outdoor kiosks. It was a little bothersome and while I felt bad not responding to their sales tactics, they were pretty rude back when I didn't respond. We mostly came here for the Starbucks and their free WiFi. It was too bad La Isla itself didn't have their own free WiFi, which would have been mighty convenient! We enjoyed shopping a little, but we mostly came here to eat at the restaurants. We tried Cambalache, an Argentinian steakhouse, which was so good! Service was on point and food quality was delicious. La Madonna Italian Restaurant wasn't that impressive to me - we wanted something a little different from all the Mexican food we had been eating but this was not it for us. We also grabbed some Amorino gelato and Krispy Kreme donuts. I know... when in Mexico... what the heck are we doing?! There's a huge Ferris wheel outside the shopping plaza which you can try out - not sure of the pricing since we decided not to ride it. If you need some time to kill and just want to walk around and shop, La Isla is a great place to do just that. read more

We ended up here twice during our stay in Cancun. La Isla is an open air shopping center located in the north end of the hotel zone. (+) You will find plenty of shops, ranging from the high end to cheesy little souvenir stores and everything in between! You will also find plenty of food options, an aquarium, a movie theater, and a canal..among many other things! We enjoyed the CineMex Theater, Thai Restaurant, Interactive Aquarium, and a couple of the souvenir stores during our two visits here. (+) The view from the harbor is serene and beautiful! Just great for a peaceful stroll.. (-) Too many aggressive touts/barkers trying to sell their stuff....or other guys trying to sell tours to other landmarks in the area.. (-) Prices can be quite inflated, but this was expected to a certain degree considering where you are at.. I will say that there is a lot more to like about La Isla than not. It's more or less across from the Westin on Blvd. Kukulcan. This outdoor mall is a gorgeous property, with lots of flowers and scultures and fountains and winding waterways throughout. It has a zillion restaurants, an aquarium and a movie theater, and reminds me a lot of Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach SC. We stopped at the Chocolate Shop to buy some gifts and enjoy an amazing cold chocolate drink. We stopped at Plaza La Fiesta, the ridiculously large souvenir store and spent an hour just grazing around. The only annoyance was the CONSTANT hawking of store and restaurant owners who stand in front of the stores shilling. I mean constant.. read more

This specious, outdoor-ish, open air mall is the perfect way to spend time when you're feeling homesick for the USA, need to pick up a few things or even kill some time window shopping. They feature very high end like Bottega Venetta, Chloe and Rolex and more affordable like Guess, Sunglasses Hut and MAC. It's really fun to look at the high end stuff, it's worth the trip for those who don't typically live near these kinds of places. Pro Tip - there are stores, like Forever 21, across the street from this mall that also offer fun, cheaper shopping. This mall is open so some parts will shade you from the sun or rain but some parts will not. There are security guards with machine guns that stand outside the jewelry stores.
