The French experience we wanted! I originally made a reservation for 1530 but we arrived about an hour early. While most were turned away, we actually got seated at the bar which was fantastic as we were both famished. I am not a French cuisine expert but prior to making reservations, it checked the boxes with wines, escargot, etc plus it fantastic reviews. Be advised-you'll wait but the food is worth it. We started with escargot which, if you've had, are squishy things in garlic butter! We all want the garlic butter! Then we had some foie gras, really just to say I had it. I won't have it again for ethical reasons but it was delicious! My wife had a cheese plate and was in heaven and I had a beef bourguinon, that was hearty and filling. As our first time dipping our toes in France, this place definitely delivered!

The service was incredible. The drinks were fantastic. They dehydrate fruit there behind the bar too to place as garnish on some of their drinks. The ambiance is clean with axes on the wallpaper around. It is darker in the bar area and lighter in the dining area. The eggplant that comes with the pork belly plate was very good. I also enjoyed the steak and mashed potatoes that I ordered.

So happy we found this restaurant around the corner from one of the Christmas markets. It was a great place to stop and relax for a little while a restaurant has tables and bar seating the hostess seated us pretty much as soon as we walked in. We were there for a late lunch so we all opted for the plate du jour which included an appetizer entrée and dessert for 29 euro There was about five things to choose from. The celery soup was delicious. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was really good . The steak was cooked perfectly and was very good. It came with veggies. The salmon was also perfectly cooked. It came on a bed of sauerkraut which was different but it all came together really well. The risotto was creamy and had a lot of mushrooms. The desserts were all delicious. The apple crumble had a good crust with a lot of apples. The tiramisu was creamy and have a hint of peanut butter. The ice cream sandwich was really good, It had raspberry ice cream, a chocolate cookie and pistachios. We also shared a bottle of Cremant champagne from the Alsace region. It was crisp and bubbly, and paired well with all three of the dishes.

Came here right at opening with no reservations and was able to get seated, 10 min later it was packed out . Food was pretty decent and very modern compared to the other restaurants in the area. Tartare was cut a little too thick but frog legs were real nice and flavorful. Ordered a bunch of starters but the espuma which was the cheapest thing on the menu was easily the best tasting

Make the stroll off the touristy streets in Strasbourg and find this jewel. Reservations highly recommended, but maybe you are lucky like us and they give u a table w/o one. Try off peak hours and give them a call. Service is friendly, they speak multiple languages, are speedy but not pushy, and attentive. Food was fantastic. The best I tried was the veal liver (pictured) with an extremely well prepared dijon based creme. The texture of the liver was as perfect. This dish sent me back memory lane to my mom's liver based dishes. Beef Bourguignon was very tender, soft, melting in your mouth with a very well prepared sauce. Least favorite was the risotto (reco to skip) as it was non al dente and seemed overlly heavy. Creme brule was also very tasty, not too sweet or creamy. They offer a wide selection of cocktails, alc and non alcoholic, local beer and wine.

Nice bistro with a modern touch. Atmosphere buzzing with pan-Europeans. No outdoor seating which is a slight minus in this old part of town. Menu ranging from snails and frog leg to fish n chips. True European style. I went for the steak frites which was good but not the best. All in all, a really nice bistro with a European touch

A well thought out menu with something for everyone; Salads, fish, meat, chicken, pork and vegetarian. The chefs know what they are doing! All of our dishes were flavorful. The steak was cooked to perfection and ohhh so juicy. The chicken with thyme was moist. The bowl of potatoes on the side were scrumptious. The bone marrow and snails appetizers are not to be missed. The ice cream is not overly sweet and very satisfying. The chocolate raspberry tarte got rave reviews. The Amaretto cocktail was too sweet. The virgin mojito was heavy on the mint. Portions were large and some leftovers were taken home. Waiters were extremely helpful, fun, energetic and spoke English. Reservations recommended. Pay parking on street. Markets and shopping nearby.

    Great ambiance...

The Schwarzwald region is sort of the gourmet capital of Germany. There are more three Michelin…read morestar restaurants in this region than, all the major cities in Germany combined. This restaurant however, is a two Michelin starred place and, we had booked here for dinner tonight, as part of staying at the hotel. Jörg Sackmann is the owner / chef at this restaurant and, it's located in the ground floor of the hotel. The decor is very classic and elegant however, feels like it is stuck in the 70's. It's he type of restaurant that would attract an older crowd. It's small and seats about 25 people, at the most. There is not enough isolation between the various restaurants at this hotel to make it that extra special. You could hear the noises from the other restaurants, from where we were sitting. They have a small 5 course tasting menu, or a 7-8 course tasting menu. They also have a fully vegetarian tasting menu which is very nice. We have eaten in three of the two Michelin restaurants in Germany and this place would rank number 3 on our list. The start of this menu was superb as was the end, however, the middle (main courses) were too sweet for my liking and of course the feeling was mutual also for my dinner guest. The service here is good but missing the finer touches of a restaurant of this caliber. The staff were not great with recommendations and to their credit were extremely helpful when asked. Some nice special touches were our names on the table and our names on the butter dish. I have never experienced that in any top end restaurant to date. I would give the service 4 stars. I was a bit mixed on the flavours and hence the four stars. The intensity of flavours in some of the courses was amazing however, some of them were not so great. When I compare it to other places that have two stars, the wow factor was lacking a bit. The chef was generous but, not as generous as other places, we have been to. The sweet tray at the end looked fabulous but, failed to wow me. The coffee was also ordinary. I would give the food 4 stars. The wine list is extensive and I loved it. They also have an excellent selection of local wine, which is great. We had a fantastic red from the Wûrttemburg area and I absolutely loved it. The Reisling Spätlese for dessert from Mosel region was also fabulous. I would happily give the wine list a 5 stars. This restaurant can be way more than it is right now. I would not give it two Michelin stars but, would more than happily give it one. Maybe even 1.5. Since Michelin have no halves this place has two ;-)) overall experience here for me would be 3.5-4 Yelp stars ;-)) Would I come back here again ? Probably not. It's not edgy enough for me and, given the choice available across the country, I would go back to other places before I came here again. Having said that I enjoyed my meal enough to give it 4 stars.

On a last minute dinner adventure, we found Bratschall Manala on our evening walk in Kayserberg,…read moreand it was not a disappointment as it was a quick discovery along the cobblestone road! Small inside, it seated mostly French tourists from other parts of France, but I was happy there was a table two by the wall for us. Apparently, the restaurant also had some German influences as we noticed some German dishes listed on the menu. What we had: 1/2 F O I E G R A S S A L A D E : I really wanted foie gras so we split a salad that is now one of the best salads that I ever had. So simple and adorned with raw mushrooms, picked radish, squash, beets, apples, seeds, olives, fried bread, and of course, foie gras! It was so good for two and I linger for it to this day. Q U I C H E L O R R A I N E & S A L A D E : Cheesy, eggy, thick bacon, and too big for me, I just love real french quiche lorraine and I was happy I decided on it. Although I would have liked pomme frites, I wasn't sure if it was okay that I ask for it, but I noticed someone else had a quiche and had pomme frites. LA C H È V R E T A R T E : A big tarte nearly a size of a pizza, with cheese, thick bacon, and baby goat cheese on top. It was yummy too, but it tasted very similar to my quiche. So we made a mistake in ordering similar items but in different forms, but nonetheless, we both liked the restaurant for a quick last minute find in Kayserberg x

It turns out that everyone enjoyed eating here more than anyplace else on the visit to Strasbourg, including a couple of Michelin-star stops. The burger (topped with ham and cheese) was juicy, well-seasoned and delicious. It was served with very good fries and a fresh green salad. The steak tartare, served on top of crispy hash-brown potatoes, was met with high praise. In addition to main courses, the restaurant has a showcase of beautiful desserts. Due to time constraints, we did not stay for dessert. Service here is excellent. The food came out quickly, and the servers were extremely attentive. When we were ready to leave, they were quick with the bill. They seemed to understand that you may have limited time, so everything moved at a relatively fast pace.
