Service was impeccable If you want, bouillabaisse you must order in advance If they have the spider crab pasta, I recommend ordering that - a neighboring table enjoyed and it lookedphenomenal. We loved our appetizers as well main course and desserts were fabulous! There is no parking near the restaurant so park as you enter the fishing village and walk over. It's a great little village to take a stroll. Also accessible by public transportation.

The tureen of bouillabaisse which we had reserved two days ahead and cost 65 euro per person, was dumped on the table without any explanation, let alone ceremony. Was it supposed to be lukewarm? No idea--the red-haired waiter served us wordlessly, with a contempt that left us baffled. If we hadn't asked another server for the rouille, it might never have come. We also had to ask him for the fish we knew was the second course. When we complained to the manager as we were paying the bill, he nodded and smiled, and as we were leaving we saw him patting the rude red-haired waiter on the back. Indifferent service is one thing, but the lack of respect here, both for diners (who spoke French, btw) and the restaurant's own food, was overwhelming.

Being American, I made us a 7:15pm reservation. When we arrived the restaurant was empty, with only two tables occupied... my wife started to get a bit nervous. But we then remembered that any reservation before 8 is a very American thing to do! Around 8pm the restaurant began filling up with locals; we were at the right spot! Being out of the Old Port area, we didn't pay tourist pricing and probably had the best lobster we've had in a long time. The service staff is very friendly and interacted with us in English. They were having fun and were very attentive to us in explaining the menu. If you're in Marseille, this spot is a "Can't Miss"!

This restaurant seems to specialize in raw and cold (crab and lobster) seafood, and it is excellent. We ordered oysters, uni, and clams and all were amazingly fresh, clean, and flavorful. There was no mignonette or any sauce and everything was served with butter and bread. The combination was surprisingly good. The oysters and clams were briny and bright, while the uni was pure umami and not oceany like Santa Barbara or Hokkaido varieties often are. They have an English menu, and the wait staff were attentive and spoke English as well. Worth a special detour if you're ever in Marseille. Update since being in Nice: We have yet to find a place in Nice that even compares. We were hopeful that Peixes, with its incredible number for 5 star reviews, would be comparable. While decent, they were not even in the same class.

If you don't know what you want, I'd highly recommend the parillada so you can try a bit of everything (and it's also a great value). I probably would've skipped the fried cuttlefish since I knew I was gonna order cuttlefish plancha but my parents really wanted to order it as an appetizer. It was delicious, I've got no regrets, but I was super full lol I also loved the white wine I got since it was more on the sweeter side. As for the cons: Service was slow - even though there were two servers, we had a wait quite a while between dishes. And at the end, the male server asked if we wanted dessert. We said yes, but he never came back with the dessert menu -_- After 15 mins, we were finally able to flag the female server. Oh and btw, you pay at the entrance. We were waiting for the check at our table and when we noticed it was taking a while, we asked them for the check and that's when they said we had to pay at the front. Lastly, the space between tables is very tight and narrow. Kinda hard getting to our seats when you can't pull the chair out without hitting other guests. The view to the water and sun is beautiful but the windows are so dirty so that ruined the view a bit. Lastly, parking is difficult to find - restaurant is hard to find as well. It might be easier for us since we're from here but I'm sure tourists struggle. Definitely some areas for improvement but overall, it was a great meal.

We had an octopus salad, deep fried smelts and... a spiny lobster of the aquarium! but everything on the menu is appealing: bouillabaise, rougets, bars...so I need to go back ;-) Food is very fresh, cuisine is simple but efficient, wine selection very appropriate, quantity decent, friendly but professional service. I may not be able to afford this place very often but I recommend to experience it at least once; it's worth it! It is busy too so reservation is needed.
