When driving to Orlando from south Florida 0r to South Florida from Orlando you can save a little on tolls by getting the turnpike via exit 129 , La Granja is conveniently located between 95 and the turnpike in Fort Pierce. Ample free parking along with fast friendly service. They have a large menu with plenty of options. The chicken and beef were both good just ask for the beef sauce on the side as it was a little too salty. The portions were also generous so you may be able to order 1 plate and split it between 2 people. They have a good selection of beverages as well. If looking for a decent bite and want an upgrade from fast food but something fast I recommend this place. Dinner or lunch while traveling to and from Orlando. Chose this restaurant because of its reviews. Ordering is convenient thru Google enabled thru DoorDash. But keep in mind that the prices are hiked up even if you choose to pick up the food. The prices at the restaurant are way lower. Peruvian food is one of my favorites and this restaurant lived up to the expectations. The fried rice was great but ensure to pick up from the selection of salsas they have. I liked the habanero sauce in particular because of the spicy flavor. Flan was a perfect addition as a dessert. Friendly staff assisted with the pick up. Dint get to experience the service. It's a local dive and the ambience was ok. Plenty of parking available and they have a drive thru counter as well. We originally were going to go to Cracker Barrel for dinner before the long drive back home when a friend said "Have you been to La Granja? It's Peruvian and it's delicious." That was enough to dump CB for this place. The building looks like it used to be a Taco Bell. Walking in we were greeted with Peruvian music and an atmosphere of "family". We grabbed some tables for our group and stood in the growing line to order. I decided to get the Seafood Gumbo. Not much of a description but the photo looked amazing. I also got their Purple Corn drink aka Chicha Morada. I've had it before at different places and I love it. In about 10 minutes I heard my number called to pick up my food. I was excited. First, the purple corn drink was good but not as good as I've had before. Other people took a sip and didn't care for it. I dunno what's wrong with them. The Seafood Gumbo was life. It contained fish, shrimp, pieces of squid, peas, rice all swimming in a delicious creamy soup. I ate it all and needed nothing else afterwards. This was the first LeBron you that I head over to ride. It was well over a decade ago. A group of a stumbled across this place on a ride on our motorcycles back up from South Florida. I was ecstatic when I learned there was one in Orlando, now there are two. This particular location is convenient to t I-95 and well worth the stop. I would recommend the chicken. My go to is a half chicken with rice and beans and instead of the plantains, I switch it out for a salad. I also recommend making a trip to the Onion bar and a few of the different kinds of onions. I particularly like the hot and spicy onions, which I add liberally to my rice and beans. The chicken is always moist and juicy and perfectly prepared. La Granja offers more than chicken, but I have always been going navard with their chicken that I have never tried anything else. I would strongly recommend coming here. read more

At first I thought it was white rice but when I compared it to the yellow rice, even raw uncooked rice grains don't curve up to a pointy tip like this. Stopped by here on the way back from Miami. My friend suggested it and when I went in I was a bit taken back by the state of the place. Clean it was not and I got a sudden urge after ordering to wash my hands. The bathroom too is nasty. So the food came. I am so happy to report that they serve Jarritos and Inca cola. So we had chicken fried rice, ribs, sautéed chicken, yellow rice and beans. The chicken fried rice was good, the ribs were just OK, the sautéed chicken was very tasty as was the yellow rice and beans. Washed it all down with Inca. So, for the first time in a gazillion times, I decided I just had to try something new. I chose the seafood gumbo. The bowl was huge and full to the top. OMG! Along with celery, chopped red peppers, and peas, there was a whole cooked (poached) egg, and yellow rice. The seafood included shrimp, calamari rings, lots of tender octopus pieces, and a mussel in its shell. I have no idea what was in the broth but it was flavorful -- no salt needed. This is a restaurant where everyone I knows gets takeout. The food is decent, and there is a LOT of it, but I've been here close to thousands of times. I know no one is perfect, but they've slipped up in ways that turns me off a bit, for example: 1) Sometimes, if you get the white meat, they'll give you dark meat and vice versa. Make sure you check. I've gotten it burnt once or twice, perhaps even close to 5 times. 2) They will NOT give you your drink that comes with the meal unless you specifically ask for it. We didn't even know that we were supposed to get drinks until someone told us so. 3) I've gotten undercooked, crunchy rice a few times. That being said, it isn't terrible. The food is flavorful the majority of the time, and they give you great portions for a low price. I believe that sometimes accidents happen, and I'm not sure if I would chalk it up to bad luck in the kitchen or just the occasional negligence. I enjoy coming here because even though I've had a few bad experiences, they aren't enough to define the restaurant, and I always find myself coming back for more. There's a La Granja down the street from where I live, so what better location to eat at than one an hour away from home. Pulled into the parking lot on the right Subway the left La Ganja - right/left right/left, open Yelp and saw the 4 stars and that finalized the decision. I arrived at 11:30 and by the time I left at noon the place was packed. I placed my order and before I could finish checking out the condiment bar my order was up. The food was served on real plates, not paper or Styrofoam and the utensils were steel/metal, not plastic a huge plus. Chicken, rice and beans was the order - some of the most flavorful juiciest chicken that I've ever tasted at a "chain" restaurant. I've eaten at La Ganja before so this review is only for this location! I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. However, while I was waiting for my food, I noticed that the served my mother in law her chicken with the corner piece completely raw. It was so noticeable that I was able to spot it with just a quick glance. I informed the staff and not only where they rude about it, when she took the food but to the chef or cooks rather, she simply said "she said it was raw". She didn't bother to look at what I was talking about nor did she care. The cooks where just as awful and rude (obviously not having any pride in there work or the food they put out). Having had food poisoning previously from another restaurant in Miami, I don't play around when it comes to under cooked chicken. Having seen the raw chicken that was served to my mother in law, I told the cashier (some other rude lady) that I wanted to change my sandwich to steak since I was disgusted and worried to consume the chicken. She told me that they already had made it and that it was to late! She then proceeded to tell me that I have to bite the chicken in order to complain about it being raw! Clearly, no one here has the brains because they don't realize the danger in consuming raw chicken. (Although they clearly have a sign saying otherwise). She asked the cooks and the same response was given. The only option given to me was to refund my money. Which is probably the best thing because heaven knows what other contamination I could have consumed, considering the fact that they do not know how dangerous raw chicken is! read more
