Long, and a couple of weeks overdue review!
I came here on a Monday after work, (about two weeks ago). It was around 4:10 p.m. It was busy and there were no open spots available so I had to wait for someone to leave in order to get a pump. Somebody left and I parked with my car tank on the opposite side of where the pump was. I was aware of this, but parked like this because it is pretty hard to move when there are many cars there and I also thought that I would be able to pull on the pump (like at some other gas stations
and Costco).
As I exited my car after parking, a guy that drove in and parked behind me was yelling and at first I couldn't understand what or who he was yelling at until I heard "your tank is on the other side, move your car" more clearly. I didn't realize he was screaming this at me until he got out of the car and yelled again, "move, your tank is on the other side". When he said this, I just kept walking and replied "ok".
He then continued yelling, more aggressively this time telling me to move and that he needs to pull up there to pump gas. I had waited about 5-6 min. and now this person who just drove in and pulled up behind me wanted me to just move my car to another pump that had just opened up (it wasn't available when I first got there, of course). So I told him, "why don't you go there?" which just caused him to get even more upset because the space was narrow for him to easily fit, but he could have moved around through the other side to get there if he wanted to.
I walked in to pay for my gas and he followed me, screaming at me, calling me all kinds of insults and cussing like a crazy person, "move your f.... car now". The man working there said NOTHING to this guy who was harassing me; he just stood there without any comment at all. The guy continued calling me many insulting names, and at one point even called me the "n" word. No, I am not African-American but find that to be very offensive language nonetheless. I had paid so I walked out of the store and went back to my car. Of course he came walking after me and when he saw I couldn't pull the pump to reach my tank, this guy continued to insult me even more, calling me " you fuc.... ret....". At this point I decided to get in my car and just wait for him to leave. Then my husband called me and this guy started yelling louder saying "call anyone you want b...", "bring it on". He got behind my car, took pictures of my back and front license plates and then of me inside the car.
He pumped his gas and finally left. Needless to say, I was very rattled! No one expects to go to a gas station and get harassed this way!!
After he left, I was then able to move my car to pump my gas. I had some money left over, so I walked back into the store to get my change and told the man everything this crazy guy continued to do and call me outside. He then said "he's a regular here, but I've never seen him like this and he always comes to get gas at this hour" (4 pm-ish) (Btw, he drives a dark gray Lexus sedan).
I said I was glad to know that because I wouldn't be going back there again, especially if this guy is a regular! I felt so upset thinking maybe that was why the employee didn't say anything to him at all when he was being super aggressive and insulting. Other customers who witnessed the incident asked me if I was ok and seemed concerned, but not the employee there. Maybe he just doesn't care about how regular customers treat other customers. But for me, this definitely makes me not want to go back there ever again. read more
