I've gotta say that I was not very impressed at all with this restaurant. No one greeted us at the front door so I had to go find a hostess to get a table. Not that big of a deal for me but then came the food. It looked great but was extremely bland and came with sour cream squeezable packets..packets!!! I'm paying $12 for a sour cream packet? At least hook me up with a dollop of that delicious cream. My wife thought the food was disgusting but I settled for bland. Let's do better guys, I mean it's Mexican food.. We came one Sunday after a day of hiking and we were so disappointed. The food was just bad, from the salsa to the quesadilla that came with half melted/half not with orange cheese inside it that looked like it came out of the microwave and just thrown on a plate. The fajitas tasted plain and the meat and chicken wasn't tender. We hardly touched our food. Paid and left. Our waiter was nice considering how bad the food was. read more

I got two smothered burritos with with and beans and it is sooo tasty and creamy with the right spice I had to bring some back home because I wanted a late night tasty snack!!! This is our very regular Friday night eat out! We've tried other local Mexican restaurants...other La Frontera or La Puente in SLC. The wait staff is great and consistent. Our drinks are never empty and our chips are always full! My husband always gets the small combo. It's a little of everything. Their tamales are really good! My daughter always gets the chimichanga. Wow, this is the most white bread mexican restaurant ever! First off, the chips are from a giant bag from Costco. They don't have salsa! They have unsweetened ketchup in a squeeze bottle. When I asked the server if they have any spicy salsa (most mexican restaurants have the spicy stuff under wraps that they only break out if you ask) she made a face at me and walked off. No joke, Taco Bell and Del Taco have WAY better salsa than La Frontera. I was there for breakfast and ordered Huevos Rancheros and an orange juice. They don't have orange juice! When the rancheros came, there were no eggs on it! Doesn't heuvos mean eggs en espanol? First and last time I go to this place. This restaurant can only survive in one of the whitest staes in the country. it would do well in Australia too, they hate spicy food down there as well as the residents of Sandy. read more

The food is amazing. Its a real tastey kind of authentic mexican food. The service is awesome. My wife and i have eaten here on numorus occasions and each time have recieved a warm and sincere greeting and excellent service. The dining area is very comfortable, up to date, and the music is usually a nice groovy latin style. The people, food and atmosphere are all wonderful at this location. read more

Again a time I need a 1/2 star. This place is a regular go to for me. 3.5 stars easily. It is not a cafe rio type. Or fancy upscale. It's just a good old go to for good Mexican food. This is a regular old GCF = good cheap food. The servings are huge and you get full plates for very little money. My 2 favorites are smothered burritos - the chili verde is to die for. The other is the smothered soft taco - yup smothered in chili verde. You can't go wrong with either in my mind. Don't forget to splash the salsa on everything. Or drench it like I do. My coworkers and I have come here for quite a while. Today was the worst of our experience and has unfortunately become more and more common. When we were sat it took well over 20 min for our server come to our table. They finally brought us chips and a short while later our drinks. After roughly 10 more min the server came to take our order and we still had not been given menus. so after some time she finally came back to take our order again. After she had taken the order she had to come back again and get half of the groups orders again! The meal was uneventful. At the end when we asked for to go boxes we were informed by a another server that where were no more to go boxes left. We even had our server come back to our table and also explain how they ran out of to go boxes. So we collected our checks and went up to pay. While we were in line we looked out over the restaurant and saw them taking to go boxes to all the other tables that we're asking my for them. It was a very poor experience read more

The food isn't bad, the place is clean, service is good. However, they are very confused and do not know what grilled chicken is. I ordered 3 ala carte GRILLED CHICKEN tacos. What I got was shredded chicken tacos on a crispy homemade shell. I ate them because I was hungry and they weren't bad at all. When I complained, they said they were called grilled tacos because the shell is grilled. I could swear the shell was fried in oil. Still not bad, but they need to clarify their menu. read more

Yuck. Service is mediocre. Food is worse. Carne Asada taco salad had about a tablespoon of what looked like the scrapings off the grill. They did give me more but it was not Carne Asada ... I think they cleaned the grill from the burgers and fed it to me. If I had any balls I would have gotten up and left. Instead I will announce it to the world not to eat there. Or at least don't get Carne Asada. Oh and they don't serve beer. That's just not right. How can you eat chips without beer. My daughter did say the cheeseburger was good. WAY WAY WAY WAY too oily. You can tell that its not fresh. Ive had worse, but not by much. Its easy to throw cheese and oil all over food.

I've seen a few negative reviews here, and I honestly don't know what they're talking about. My wife and I eat here 3-4 times a month and have never experienced any of these problems.
