They offer early morning classes now. Ok so as of two weeks ago, they started offering cycling at 5:45am. Which I'm sooo happy for. I usually like to get my workout in before work, so I live the fact that they finally scheduled a cycling class this early. This is the only one gym in the area without an electronic scale. There's 3 manual scales. One is locked in the personal training area. One in the men's lockers, which does not work at all. And one by the lobby, it's just that manual scales are outdated and not very accurate. read more

LA Fitness is LA Fitness is LA Fitness. Like any other chain...gyms, restaurants, mechanics, etc....the real difference among the locations is the local management and, frankly, this location just doesn't seem well-managed compared to close locations like West Covina, Arcadia, and El Monte. It's hit or miss on whether the folks at the front counter actually greet you on the way in...or at all. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 of them to talk to one person so you may have a slight delay in trying to scan your ID...nothing big but another management issue of training folks on how to work with customers. They definitely don't say anything to you when you leave, however, unless perhaps you partake in the personal training or you are a talker who does more chatting than exercising. Again...this is compared to other locations. Machines are down constantly with on average 2 or 3 treadmills, and at worst about 5 or 6, inoperable. Some have signs and some don't, but when you go upstairs to the treadmills it's essentially like rolling the dice hoping to get on one that works. Machines downstairs that are inoperable may or may not have a sign on them...you just find out when you hop on the machine. The same channels are on the TVs and there is no attention to what is current. When the Olympics were happing in Paris...CNN and local news were on. When Disney and Spectrum were at a contractual impasse, 4 or 5 televisions had the error message from spectrum. No thought as to maybe finding another channel. Again...just poor management, no training, or both. Finally, the cleanliness. The custodial staff is moving around the gym consistently, but I don't know if I've ever seen them actually wipe down (empty) equipment. What they will do, is mop right next to you, under you, in front of you whilst completing exercises. Now the floor is wet when you get up with wobbly legs after a few leg sets. Again...poor management. All in all, there are easy adjustments to be made but after coming here for a few years...they won't be made. I love La Fitness Glendora Gym, I've been a member since September 2024. I attend on Thursdays, and into the weekend I take the classes hosted by a trainer named Manuela. She cares about the people learning the steps and goes at a steady pace instead of the other trainers who are insanely hardcore and way too fast for me (I"m 32 & 190 lbs). I can complete this class beginning to end for the full hour and feel a deep &full body workout . What can be greater than doing all this while having fun ?! That is Manuelas top priority for our class too! She is always making us giggle with her jokes and encourages us to keep going when it feels tough! It's wonderful being apart of her class and I recommend to all new gym members to try out Manuela's zumba, silver-sneaker & Power-Circuit classes! Atleast 5-10 treadmills are not working consistently. The ones that are working are a hazard because they will randomly STOP while you are walking or running. Recently, the gym installed a entire Pilates section before they went through and fixed broken gym equipment. They are more worried about raising membership rates and bringing in new members than attending to the members who are already at the gym and fixing faulty equipment. When I complained to the front desk that 5 to 10 treadmills were off or out of order the manager who was a female immediately became defensive " 10 really? I'm sure that's not the case, I have technicians up every week fixing them". I have been coming to this gym for four months since I live in Glendora and the same treadmills have always been turned off and or broken. So the manager not only lied to me, but gave me attitude, saying that I must be incorrect about the number of machines that are off. This is extremely dangerous to have machines that randomly shut off, especially on the second floor. These treadmills are at least 20 years old from the previous location and should definitely be updated before more. Money is invested in brand new Pilates machines. read more

Very rude and mean male manager who didn't allow my guest in--even though he had a guest pass. They claimed the pass wasn't activated on the first day, but that was clearly the staff's mistake. My friend was considering joining, but today he just wanted to try the Zumba class. The manager still rejected him because he won't sign up today! This LA Fitness is in a good location but the employees are rude. As a former employee, the front desk is the first impression and the girls at the front are always in a mood. At West Covina they are way friendlier and don't make you feel like you're an inconvenience as a guest. No one seems like they want to help you nor have we had a good experience when asking about information on our accounts. My wife and I joined the gym here and we really like it. They have racquetball courts, basketball courts and spin/zumba classes too. I enjoy the spin class and my wife the Zumba. They have a sauna that is great but just a little too small, it's usually really crowded in there but it's worth the health benefits of you're ok with crowded places. If you go on non peak hours I'm usually alone in the sauna. read more

The rating reflects my experience with customer service only. I came in as a first time guest this morning, and upon inquiring if there was an additional person/quicker way to be checked in as my class was starting very shortly and the line was slow moving, I was rudely barked at twice by the woman working the guest check in. I'm incredibly understanding of protocol/there not being a workaround, but there is a right and kind way to communicate this to a customer and this woman chose the opposite. This place is due for a remodel. It's a good gym, but a lot of the machines are old and messed up, and it's a little crusty. For the cost of membership I expect more. I have two gym memberships because the Glendora LA Fitness is close to my house, but when I really want to train I drive to La Verne to a new lifting club with all new equipment (and it's just a lot better in general.) I've been considering dropping my La fitness membership and just driving to the new lifting club in La Verne.....but would much rather stay closer to home. The GM Evelyn drained my bank account 79.00 times 11 and made my account go overdrawn and didn't even apologize. The bank alerted me and never have I overdrawn my account. I was super upset about this and she didn't even care. Most people only have one bank account and how would I be able to get gas or food. Evelyn said don't worry she will work on it and it will be back in my account tomorrow. Tomorrow. No now I said. I ended up calling my Bank and they told me that someone at LA Fitness was charging my account. She act like she didn't care. What a joke of a manager she is. My favorite LA FITNESS: Kids Club has great nice people my kids love. Janitors constantly cleaning and disinfecting. Suana is hot and at right temperature. Front desk nice. Trainers leave me alone not pushing me 24/7. Good smoothie bar. Weights and machines constantly being cleaned. Floor and mats cleaned and mopped consistently. Manager called me to check on us when son got hurt. Good customer service. Only flaw is sometimes there is absolutely no paper towels or disinfecting wipes anywhere. Fitness is very conveniently located near our house but after being members for a couple of years, it was so filthy that we chose to drive 6 miles out of our way to go to another gym rather than choose the convenience. Then came Covid. When things opened up again, we were looking at several gyms. I stopped at LA Fitness with no intention of rejoining and I immediately noticed that it was CLEAN. Really clean. I checked a couple more times and every time it was clean. Turns out they had a new custodial staff with Jim at the helm. They are great - thorough and, frankly, the reason my husband and I rejoined. A great gym with a comprehensive set of equipment. I had a training with Ivan and he was super informative and educational and I learned the proper way to work out with the right diet and nutrition. This review isn't about the facility of the gym and what it offers. I actually really like how this gym is set up and the open floor plan. This is more about the lack of enforcing the mask mandate for indoor gatherings (especially indoor gyms, reminder: gyms were one of the first establishments required to shut down when the pandemic hit) . I would estimate about 80% of gym goers here aren't masked up even though there are signs posted all over. The front desk check in guys are, however. Strange? What's even more strange is the proper gym etiquette, wiping pre and post usage of your machine/station. Lots of members do this. But these are the same people who aren't masked....so really, what's the point? It's like walking halfway to the restroom and pissing on the floor but you're facing the general vicinity of the toilet, so it's ok. A lazy person's definition of "containment" As much as I do enjoy working out here, I will not be returning due to concerns of public health and safety. Had to cut my workout short to exit this facility. Yuck... I will be contacting the public health department about this. read more

Another 5 star review. I had a membership here at this gym when it first opened many many years ago. I am back! Signed up just before new years with the new Manager Jeff. I rushed in, no time for fluff and I told him so. He cut to the chase and signed me up so I could get to working out. I had researched and thought through what I needed in a gym and at this time in my life a pool and childcare were on the top of my list. (Let's face it...all gyms have treadmills, but not all have a pool and childcare... especially after covid nearly sucked the life out of gyms trying to operate). I read the reviews about mold and poor repair and to my delight...the first time I used the pool...a female attendant was cleaning the ladies lockers and pool area and a man was doing the same on the men's side. There is cleaning spray bottles everywhere so clean your equipment before and after. My son (4) has been to the kids club twice and had a great time. It's clean and friendly and lots of kid of all ages going. Thank you Ms. Mary :) The pool was clean, temp was perfect. Same with the jacuzzi. There was zero sign of mold so that issue has been worked on (saw previous comments). Front desk staff can be clunky at any gym, but that everywhere now. Just be nice and patient with them and they will give you the courtesy back. Fellow gym goers are friendly....so in total....I finally got my senior mom enrolled in Silver Sneakers for senior membership, a membership for me and one for my son to go to kids club. This gym use to be well maintained, recently the jacuzzi has not worked for the past 6 months and the TV's don't work. I have asked numerous times about the jacuzzi and I get the same answer it will be fixed in two weeks BS!!!!!!!! The other gyms near Glendora do not have a pool. This gym is absolutely ridiculous. I understand it was peak hours but only was it over crowded which I expect. But people are just seating around on their phones taking the machines for long periods of time. I took my son to visit the location on Grand avenue. I was told by manager Jessica that he would have to pay $20 to come in as a visitor. I then talked to membership employee Alyssa, and she said that he would have to pay $20 to come as a visitor. Question; is this gym that desperate for money? Definitely one of the better la fitness locations in the area. The gym is spacious and they have all of the basic necessities you need for a gym. The people in the front are always welcoming and the gym is always kept in very good shape. There are racquetball courts, a basketball court and a pool. I use to have two gym memberships, one with Fitness 19 and one with LA Fitness because LA was closed down during Covid. Once LA opened back up I started comparing the two gyms and noticed that LA staff are way more friendlier and keep the facility clean. So I ended up canceling my membership with Fitness 19.
