He confirmed that he could do it and gave me a time frame He picked up the chairs and had the job done on time. The quality of his work was outstanding and his professionalism was much appreciated!! I drove from where I live in Jamaica, Queens out to Island Park, Long Island where his shop is located and it was worth the trip. I'm sure my mother and grandfather are smiling down from heaven pleased with the newly re-furbished chair.

I had Frank refinish 3 pieces for me. I chose him based on the "behind the hedges" article written…read moreabout him in May 2023 that painted him to be an artist with a careful eye for his craft. His work is mediocre at best and his behavior makes him a nightmare to work with. When he picked up my furniture, he had a full blown tantrum in the street, screaming and hollering and causing a scene for all of my neighbors to hear and see because he had never heard of homes on a "walk" and he couldn't find my house. He had a meltdown when I couldn't go to his shop with less than 24 hours notice. He lost one drawer pull from my antique dresser, and refused to apologize or take accountability, claiming that the pull wasn't on the dresser when he picked it up, despite me sending photos of the dresser prior to his possession of them. Even at furniture delivery, he placed three heavy table leaves on my brand new, $3000 crushed velvet sofa, leaving scratches in the fabric. When I told him I would pay him after I had this repaired he flipped out and threatened to steal my furniture. His exorbitant prices do not reflect craftsmanship. While a skilled refinisher can sand and evenly stain a dresser in however many hours, it will take Frank twice as long, and he will charge based on time. He makes up excuses for why certain repairs are "not possible," when the reality is that he isn't capable of certain repairs. See photos of two dressers where it is clear they are unevenly stained across the different drawers. The door in the center of the long dresser is a completely different color. He did not have the door attached until after delivery so I did not see how different the color is. He is condescending and brash, and the most unprofessional person I've ever had the displeasure of working with. Avoid at *all costs*

The cushions sag and are worse than the original cushions ("20 percent less firm" than the original 6-year-old cushions to quote Mr. Dercola). I was forced to ask Mr. Dercola to leave my home as he became argumentative, belligerent and aggressive. He is nasty foul mouthed, and his work was anything but professional. Stay away from this company unless you want to be yelled at and physically threatened.
