YUMMMMMMM. So good…read more My friend is an ice cream cookie monster and has it several times a day when we travel bc that's her favorite thing when she travels is to try all the ice cream in town. I'm happy to oblige, lol. So, after an hour in the Asheville Salt Cave, we walked over here to try this ice cream. Two staff inside working, it was incredibly hot inside, were happy to answer questions and greeted us warmly. They had a nice selection of flavors on the wall and a few specialty flavors. My friends went with a salted caramel vanilla and a peanut chocolate flavor. Both were OK but mine was the star of the show for me. I chose the Vanilla Oreo Cream which was this delicious creamy vanilla mixture with huge chunks of Oreo cookies. It was smooth, it was sweet, it was delicious. As a cookies and cream fan, this was top notch. They sell lactaid pills here if you need them, to assist with stomach discomfort from dairy. Smooth and creamy ice creams here with a range of delicious flavors. If we'd had time, we would've stopped in every single day!

The address in Yelp brought us to a blue building clearly marked with the address we were looking for BUT it was a pharmacy. We persisted. We eventually found an ice cream store behind the pharmacy called "The mad dipper". We went in and talked to the young woman working there. She said they used to be "The ultimate ice cream" but they were bought about a year ago and the name was changed to The Mad Dipper." She tried hard to convince us they were the same but after having looked at the pictures prior to arriving I would disagree. We still ordered ice cream and it was good but nothing special. There were a few inside tables as well as outside. It appeared clean but disorganized. The young woman working was kind and polite. She did a good job. Would we go back- probably not. I am still trying to understand how/why the new owners have not taken the time to update their Yelp page. Really poor marketing!

They have a good selection of yoghurt flavors and an incredible selection of toppings. The yoghurt flavors we had (white chocolate, vanilla and salted caramel) were all excellent. They also have gourmet ice cream if someone in your party is not a fan of frozen yoghurt. The cashier was friendly. Prices are typical for frozen yoghurt places.

They tried with the outside seating but it's a bit sad. I mean not my h you can do on the side of a hwy. The worker was super friendly and helpful. She directed me to some sample cups behind the counter. I was glad to be able to try before committing. The decor is adorable. It's a periodic table of elements themed. I like that you can see the flavors that they rotate through on the wall- something to look forward too. And the labels are cute and helpful. With the flavors, I was happy but not impressed. The classic tart vanilla is my go to and their only vanilla was super sweet. All the flavors were really sweet to me. They did have some sorbets and ones made with almond milk which I appreciated. The cookies and cream and Carmel and strawberry were pretty good but again, super sweet. They have a ton of toppings. Really any sweet you could imagine. Sadly my favorite (berries) were almost empty and sad looking. If you like cookies or candy though, you were well stocked. The sign on the door advertised an increase in price (isn't that everywhere though?) and we felt it. Each of our cups were a whopping $9. Basically dinner but a nice treat nonetheless.
