The deal stretches to a few 12" pizzas, which is impressive, and looks equally delicious. My meal was prepared and brought over promptly, and I was offered a generous dousing of black pepper and parmasan which I accepted eagerly. For £3, I was damn impressed by the quality, and I got a strong impression that heading by in the evening and paying full price would turn out even better results. The right balance of oil and garnish made for a memorable meal. Zafferelli is also a great place due to its high quality finish, with menus, chairs and even the bills presented in stylish black leather that compliments the overall style of the establishment. It also exudes italianness, which is something you just don't get with the large chains like Pizza Express and Strada. The manager sang along to the Italian music playing over the speakers, and had a passionate greeting in speedy loud Italian with one of his guests. All in all, a damn good night out who's price, well stocked menu and finishing more than warrant a subsequent return or two. *which admittedly carried a reusable service charge of 10%, but I was more than happy to pay it seeing as I actually felt as though I was getting damn good service

At Casalingo however, I was shocked to find that there is still much room for Italian food. I had a swordfish dish that was certainly an experience; that makes me sound like i'm being sceptical, but in all honestly, that is more because I don't think swordfish is for me. The dish itself was cooked very well, seasoned with a hint of garlic, butter and olive oil. The biggest problem with Casalingo is that the decor is just a little bit too dated to make the evening entirely pleasurable. That said, if you're less shallow then me, look no further.

I've had my foodie little eye on Graze for some time now, and I finally got to try it out last…read morenight for my Brother's birthday. The interior is plush and apparently influenced by the Brighton Pavilion. It's quite a small restaurant and the tables can appear quite cramped. For the first half hour, we were the only customers and I could hear the staff chatting away to each other which was a bit uncomfortable, however, the restaurant quickly filled up and was soon buzzing with atmosphere. Graze offer an al la carte or tasting menu. The birthday boy had his eye on the tasting menu and as we had to order for the whole table we didn't want to disappoint. I also decided to accompany him with the wine pairing - what a kind sister I am!! The tasting menu included 7 courses, two of which included an option of two which is a nice touch. Homemade bread in four flavours was offered around repeatedly but I was conscious not to fill up too much! The first course was Jerusalem artichoke soup with smoked hazelnut creme fraiche and hazelnuts crisps. This was paired with a very dry sherry, a little unpalatable on its own, but great in combination with the soup. Second course was a chicken liver parfait with pear and star anise jelly, served with a slice of sweet brioche - rich and delicious. This was served with a sweet Hungarian Tokaji. The others went for a butternut squash option but found it was lacking a little in taste and needed added seasoning. Third up was cauliflower and truffle risotto with chestnuts and Parmesan crisp. Matched with this was a crisp viognier. Next was one of my favourite dishes - beetroot cured salmon, pickled beetroot and beetroot puree, creme fraiche and what tasted like amaretti crumbs. The salmon was so fresh and light and the flavour combinations were exquisite. This was paired with a pinot blanc. For the next course we were offered a choice between halibut and venison. We all went with the venison which was served with polenta, grey chantelles and greens. A very tasty dish served with a light pinot noir. The pre-dessert was a chilled mandarin soup with clove sorbet. Such a fantastic dish I was half way through before I realised I had forgotten to take a picture! This came with a fabulous Pedro Ximenez sherry from the Jerez region of Spain. A much sweeter and nicer sherry than the first, at least for my tastes. The final course was a pear parfait with star anise ice cream and almond crumble, this was served with a sweet dessert wine and was a fine finish to a great meal. The Chef here has Spanish roots and you can certainly feel the Mediterranean influence shining through here. The flavour combinations were great and the presentation was exquisite (somebody has been watching Masterchef!). The service was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was nice. So close to a five star review, but nothing took my breath away, and a few extras such as amuse bouche would have been appreciated*. *Am I really saying there wasn't enough food here, I certainly didn't leave hungry!!

It's kind of a gone a bit 64 degrees with the tapas style plates but the portions are larger. The recommended 4 each, I think we had three and were stuffed. Highlights included scallops (which were so good we ordered 4 plates worth), pigs cheeks, truffle mac & cheese and blue fillet steak. Everything was amazing. As were deserts. They also sell scooners (3/4 pint) of a great draft. It went down a storms and is now my new fave draft. Service was perfect. Nice and chatty but not too so, and the cream of the crop was when we had to wait a bit for desert they gave us free beers while we waited (it wasn't even that long). Only slight moan was that it did start to get very hot in there. Easy on the heating there chaps. ;0) Check it out, u won't be disappointed! Best meal I've had in years

Visiting on Father's Day, all tables were fully booked with smiling dads and their offspring. This meant we had to sit on a high table with slightly bum-numbing seats. Needless to say, our appetites were duly sated by complimentary bread. My grilled salmon was slightly overcooked, as was my dad's steak. Lamb cutlets were tender and the fresh anchovies were excellent, apparently (I don't eat them). The skinny fries we shared were under seasoned. To their credit, portions were very generous. Desserts fared better. Delicious, warm pecan pie went down a treat as did a nata - Portuguese custard tart. I would've loved to award Casa Lola four stars, I truly would. The service was super friendly, even a little psychic - our waiter guessed I wanted a hot chocolate before I even said so. But the quality of the mains was not quite there. A solid 3.5 stars.

The food stuffs were great, but the bread probably could have had just a little less than a tub of butter on it (I could see my friend's arteries clogging while we chatted over breakfast). The pastries looked amazing - I definitely will have to try one of those next time - maybe for cream tea or something like that (since the scones looked spectacular). The coffee was EXTRA large - I'd suggest not getting the large if you're not planning to be near a bathroom for a while. The main thing about this place is the view - right there on the sea. The parking lot is of decent size, but you can always park on the street. Even during the winter the place gets packed up, so be sure to grab yourself a table first thing you do when you walk in the door - THEN order. Silly set up for sure, but it is what it is.
