This place was amazing!…read more A group of coworkers staying in Eagle Pass, Texas decide to venture into Mexico today (Tuesday) and try out republica as we heard is much about it and we were NOT disappointed! We arrived about 5:45pm and it was pretty empty. We were greeted right away and given seating of our choice. The place is beautiful from the outside in! The ambiance and decor is trendy and would be a good spot for a special occasion celebration. Even the bathrooms were soo nice! The oversized, full body mirror was definitely a plus, but the bathroom was welp kept. The service was great! Our waiter was Luis/z, the receipt said "Chacho", he was sweet, attentive, and made some great suggestions. Everyone else we interacted with were also friendly and pleasant. We ended up being here for over 5 hours! We just kept ordering drinks and food and they were also nice enough to put the basketball game on for us. We ordered so much food and drink, I lost track of the items name (especially since they were in Spanish). The only thing we collectively agreed was not good was the guacamole; it lacked flavor and we did not eat even half of it. Everything else was great and so were the drinks! I included a pic of the receipt for the items and the prices. We are out there for another 2 months and we will definitely be back!

As soon as we entered the vicinity, my jaw dropped literally because it looked super cute and festive. The place is literally a mini San Miguel, Mexico. Anyhow, we were greeted warmly by the host and eventhough it looked busy we were escorted almost immediately to our table. We were greeted kindly by our server and was handed the menu. They have plenty of interesting drinks and cocktails, appetizers, entree and many Many more on their menu. We finally ordered our drinks and foods and was excited for them. The ambiance of this place were incredible. It has such a clean surroundings and pleasant atmosphere. Our drinks, chips and salsa and entree came with the right amount of wait time and we were ready to explorge. Everything was on point and we had a very appetizing and delicious meal as well as a wonderful time.

They have inside seating. They have different specials that you can take advantage of. We shared the cod platter that came with two pieces of cod, four shrimp and two sides. We added the cheese bites as an appetizer and an extra side hush puppies. It was a lot of food for us. The food was just as I remembered. The cod pieces were large. The shrimp breading was a little too thick for me. I did take the breading off and just ate the shrimp. The hush puppies were great. I love their Cole slaw. It's the creamy kind. The fries were already cold by the time we got them so they weren't that great. The drink station has several drinks, but only two diet drinks and they don't have tea. They do charge for water. The condiments station has Tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, marinara sauce, and barbecue sauce. Staff were friendly. Your order with a cashier and someone brings you your food out when ready.

The outside of the building looks real nice and is well maintained. Once you enter the friendly staff seats you in a booth or tables. The decorations are classy old school Mexican. Very nice! The menu is extensive and takes a while to get through. There is something for most everyone: meats, seafood, pastas, salads, (however no soups), appetizers, Mexican antojitos. I did not see any non-animal based protein for vegans. The service was excellent. Everything at my table was delicious. The chips and variety of salsas were irresistible. I had the enchiladas suizas and loved them. Very generous portions and with a beautiful presentation to boot! I could see some carts rolling by laden with meals for other tables and it all looked delectable. Perhaps because I was so hungry, but it really was very appetizing! There were TV screens and some background music but at a good volume so we could hear very well to hold a conversation without raising our voices. I highly recommend Tierra Bendita and look forward to going again.
