The best local food restaurant in town, no need to visit any starred restaurant. Fish is cooked to perfection, head-chef is a grilled-fish master. We also tried "entrecot", boneless stake, we loved it. When eating downstairs, in the restaurant, you can still order Pintxos: delicia, antxoas guetaria, Ensaladilla Rusa. We only saw locals eating here what tells you how authentic this place is.

Fantastic food. Amazing service ! Try the barcel'o rum . Amazing simply amazing. The tapas was simply put to die for. If you visit here and don't go to the place you have missed out.

    Oh Solomillo!

Had the solomillo and jalisco here. Jalisco was ok, nothing memorable. Solomillo was quite good. Lovely medium rare on the steak, deliciously seasoned and juicy. The mushroom sauce was wonderfully savory. The potato wedges were perfectly constructed and lightly fried to crispy perfection.

We opted for a few pintxos for lunch while we were visiting town. We also had a couple of drinks my husband got whiskey with coke and I asked for a local cocktail since I'm not much of a wine drinker. I was handed a cup of pacharán which was a bit strong but was nice to try something different. The pintxos came out one at a time which was nice we were able to fully enjoy each on their own. The bao was the only one I didn't really like mostly the bun part. It didn't taste like it was cooked all the way and was a bit gummy and there was not a lot of meat filling. Next was the lamb which was really tender and flavorful. The couscous was ok nothing special and not much seasoning to it. Then the beef cheek and mashed potatoes came out which was the star of the pintxos that we had. It was also very tender and the mash was also cooked perfectly. All of this was shared between the two of us and was very filling. The waiter let us know that some of the pinxtos could also be ordered in a full size if we wanted. We enjoyed sampling the pinxtos and would definitely recommend coming here to get a taste of local cuisine.

Fixed menu. Torta, tomatoes, peppers and steak. They bring out raw bone in ribeyes and let you choose your steak. The steak comes out seared and raw on the inside on a sizzling cast-iron skillet. You are able to cook it to your liking on the skillet as you eat this incredible steak. No frills not totally worth the experience.

This tiny, high‑energy bar in the Parte Vieja is famous for doing just a few things -- and doing them with absolute conviction. The lineup is legendary: the txuleta steak, the tomato salad, the Padrón peppers, and of course, the tortilla that sells out instantly. They make only two tortillas a day, and getting your name on the list feels like joining a local rite of passage. Here's the twist: although the tortilla is the most famous item, it actually wasn't our favorite version in the city. It's still fun to chase, still a cool story to tell, but the real stars of the meal were the steak -- charred, juicy, perfectly salted -- and the tomatoes, which taste like they've been engineered for maximum summer. They only make 2 tortillas a day, so you have to stand in line before they open to get a reservation for a slice. Inside, it's tiny, loud, and joyful. The staff runs the place with precision and a wink, and even when it's packed shoulder‑to‑shoulder, it feels like you're exactly where you're supposed to be. Come early, come hungry, and come ready for a meal that feels like a Basque rite of passage -- tortilla hype and all.

We did however thoroughly enjoy the small sirloin steak. It was tender, perfectly cooked medium rare, delicious and the best part of the meal. It came with fries that were properly crispy and delicious. Perfect amount of salt and so good!! I would go back for the steak in a heartbeat!! We ordered the tomato and tuna salad, it was OK. Wouldn't order again. The poached egg was different and tasty. It had mushrooms and I enjoyed it. I would order this again. The clams were tasty but a bit larger than I usually like them. I wouldn't order them again. Absolutely did not like the crab. It had so much of the shell that had to be spit out. I would not order this again. I would go back for the steak!! The wine was not my favorite either, we got a bottle of Muga. I will ask for a recommendation next time. I also thought it was super strange that almost everyone with a jacket was asked to hang it on the coat rack (which we didn't notice when we entered), but ours hung from our chairs. This was a last minute trip and we booked what we could for dinner. While I loved the steak, the other things we ordered were a miss.

What to know beforehand: the tortilla is made twice a day and released at 12:30 pm and 6:30 pm. There's a limited number of slices and folks line up in advance so it goes almost instantly. If you aren't able to get the tortilla, there are still several made-to-order Pintxos that cannot be missed, so worth sticking around and ordering a few! On a raining Saturday around 1 pm when I first arrived, the tortilla was fully gone but I enjoyed starting my pintxos crawl off with the prawn ravioli, the scallops, and the crispy oxtail. The crispy oxtail was otherworldly. Stewed, flavorful oxtail wrapped in a fried, crispy phyllo outer layer provides texture and flavor you can't beat. The ravioli was also very, very good. I liked the scallop, which was perfectly cooked, buttery delicious, but was not a huge fan of the mayo sauce it comes with. (My American palate just can't tolerate that much mayo.) I ended up enjoying the atmosphere and food here so much I came back in the afternoon (when they were only doing cold pintxos) and grabbed the pistachio cheesecake for postres, which ended up being one of my favorite desserts of the weekend. Super creamy, not too sweet, served with a raspberry sauce and a lemony ice cream to cut the richness of the cheesecake nicely. It's such a fun vibe inside this spot. Txakoli (the local wine) is as expensive as water, at 3 euros and it's kind of a fun almost party atmosphere without being too boisterous. I stood at the counter when I first arrived but eventually secured a bar stool and there's great people watching. The staff is interactive but courteous and fast, and people move through this door very efficiently. Even when crowded, it never feels claustrophobic like some of the main spots in Old Town. Already counting down the next time I can come into San Sebastián and eat here!

The bar doesn't like people waiting in the hallway so the line wraps onto the sidewalk. It didn't take long for a couple chairs to become available at the bar. Ordered a cafe with milk and a couple of tortillas. The tortilla is served just about everywhere- tabernas and restaurants in Spain. Antonio's version is different, a really good different. Made with 35 eggs, caramelized onions and potatoes. The caramelized onions really sets their tortilla apart from the rest. We stopped by twice to eat their tortilla. Pintxos start at 7pm. Get there's early for that. We got seats at the bar around 630 pm and finished our cold pintxos from the case. We still had 20 minutes before we could order the hot Pintxos and felt bad just waiting and was about to cash out when our bartender said if you leave it will be hard to get seats later. Ordered another round of drinks and waited it out. Enjoyed the scallops, oxtail won ton, shrimp won ton and foie gras. Food came out quick and as soon as we were done, our seats were quickly occupied. The same servers were there in the morning, there at night. They hustle and it shows. You must go here!
