The best local food restaurant in town, no need to visit any starred restaurant. Fish is cooked to perfection, head-chef is a grilled-fish master. We also tried "entrecot", boneless stake, we loved it. When eating downstairs, in the restaurant, you can still order Pintxos: delicia, antxoas guetaria, Ensaladilla Rusa. We only saw locals eating here what tells you how authentic this place is.

Fantastic food. Amazing service ! Try the barcel'o rum . Amazing simply amazing. The tapas was simply put to die for. If you visit here and don't go to the place you have missed out.

Had the solomillo and jalisco here. Jalisco was ok, nothing memorable. Solomillo was quite good. Lovely medium rare on the steak, deliciously seasoned and juicy. The mushroom sauce was wonderfully savory. The potato wedges were perfectly constructed and lightly fried to crispy perfection.

I was handed a cup of pacharán which was a bit strong but was nice to try something different. The pintxos came out one at a time which was nice we were able to fully enjoy each on their own. The bao was the only one I didn't really like mostly the bun part. It didn't taste like it was cooked all the way and was a bit gummy and there was not a lot of meat filling. Next was the lamb which was really tender and flavorful. The couscous was ok nothing special and not much seasoning to it. Then the beef cheek and mashed potatoes came out which was the star of the pintxos that we had. It was also very tender and the mash was also cooked perfectly. All of this was shared between the two of us and was very filling. The waiter let us know that some of the pinxtos could also be ordered in a full size if we wanted. We enjoyed sampling the pinxtos and would definitely recommend coming here to get a taste of local cuisine.

This is an obligatory stop to any trip to San Sebastián. Like any popular pinxtos spot in Old Town, you can get expect this to be standing room only, crowded, and a line out the door to get just one thing, but they've clearly been doing this forever and know what to expect. I stopped here at the end of my Saturday afternoon pinxtos crawl, knowing that I was too full from lunch to actually eat it immediately. The menu is pretty simple: you can order by the slice (you get two slices for about 6.50 euros) or a whole cheesecake. They have some pinxtos food items but generally very few people were ordering that. A lot of people stand in the street outside and eat their cheesecake, but I was able to get in/out within 10 minutes for a slice packed to go, which I took to my hotel nearby to enjoy after a good nap. And the cheesecake is genuinely incredible. This is the home / invention of basque cheesecake in the way it's intended to be done: not only browned at the top, but with a drippy, creamy consistency that's almost custard-like. It's genuinely incredible and I've never had anything quite like it in the States. This is a when in Rome situation and absolutely worth the hype. I may or may not have also taken a nap after eating my cheesecake.

They don't stop making them. Can't get busy and loud since the bar is on the smaller side and is majority standing room only. Grab a slice and pair it with a glass of prosecco, cheers!

We sat outside near the square under the umbrellas and watching people. Our guide prepped us on the history and story of this stop. The city and setting are beautiful. We are excited to explore this idyllic town in the northwestern corner of Spain. One dish, one stop on an evening of many favorite pintxos in the area. Luckily, we are walking from stop to stop so we don't develop the pintxos pooch. To our table is delivered a wedge of what looks like an omelet or pie. The guide explains this is no ordinary omelet but a world renowned "best Spanish omelet". He was absolutely correct. The light, juicy, savory and fluffy Spanish omelet is delicious. There is a sweetness from the peppers and carmelized onions, yet a perfect marriage of flavors. It have great moistness, yet not soupy. If you are entertaining for brunch or breakfast, go to Google and watch the video on how this is done at this spot and in this city. I have said in the past that I could easily skip breakfast, but if this was on the menu, I would have to rescind that statement. To the chefs at Antonio, great job and thanks for showing me what a great omelet is.

One of my favorite Pintxos spots on the outskirts of Old Town and a must-visit for San Sebastián…read morefood... even if you aren't lucky enough to get one of the coveted pieces of the famous tortilla. What to know beforehand: the tortilla is made twice a day and released at 12:30 pm and 6:30 pm. There's a limited number of slices and folks line up in advance so it goes almost instantly. If you aren't able to get the tortilla, there are still several made-to-order Pintxos that cannot be missed, so worth sticking around and ordering a few! On a raining Saturday around 1 pm when I first arrived, the tortilla was fully gone but I enjoyed starting my pintxos crawl off with the prawn ravioli, the scallops, and the crispy oxtail. The crispy oxtail was otherworldly. Stewed, flavorful oxtail wrapped in a fried, crispy phyllo outer layer provides texture and flavor you can't beat. The ravioli was also very, very good. I liked the scallop, which was perfectly cooked, buttery delicious, but was not a huge fan of the mayo sauce it comes with. (My American palate just can't tolerate that much mayo.) I ended up enjoying the atmosphere and food here so much I came back in the afternoon (when they were only doing cold pintxos) and grabbed the pistachio cheesecake for postres, which ended up being one of my favorite desserts of the weekend. Super creamy, not too sweet, served with a raspberry sauce and a lemony ice cream to cut the richness of the cheesecake nicely. It's such a fun vibe inside this spot. Txakoli (the local wine) is as expensive as water, at 3 euros and it's kind of a fun almost party atmosphere without being too boisterous. I stood at the counter when I first arrived but eventually secured a bar stool and there's great people watching. The staff is interactive but courteous and fast, and people move through this door very efficiently. Even when crowded, it never feels claustrophobic like some of the main spots in Old Town. Already counting down the next time I can come into San Sebastián and eat here!
