There are many choices for great food along the Belgian coast. We decided to have an outing to De Haan for dinner. Everything was great from start to finish; and by "start" I mean the quick email response to our inquiry about hours and availability. We got an almost instant reply to our email. Within a few minutes, we made a reservation with ease. The restaurant is right on the beach with wall to wall windows overlooking the North Sea. Staff are welcoming and very helpful. This restaurant represents one of the best value establishments we have ever eaten in. With about a mile of restaurants to choose from all with carbon copy menus Lusitania is a standout. The trend is for set 3 course menus in the area and in most you get what you pay for, at Lusitania they go the extra mile with real food, real linen and real service and all for a remarkable starting price of 27.50 Euros, amazing. There are nice delays between courses and extra touches that go to make this one of those stand out memorable dining experiences, not just a fuel up stop.

This restaurant was really disappointing because it was decorated nicely. They had the comfiest cushions I have experienced. However, service was slow and a waitress came to take our order shortly after the first waitress had already taken it. The food came after a long wait of 40 minutes and I ate with four other people, and our meals did not come all at the same time. Now for the taste, the mashed potatoes which I did not order were overly salted. There were only 4 meals available on the kids menu with little variety between each one. I ordered the baked cod with spinach purée. They never mentioned the mashed potatoes but there they were, and the spinach purée was nowhere to be found. For the baked cod, it tasted like human flesh and I couldn't bring myself to finish it. My fellow diners were not pleased with their meals either due to the pricing of them. The bathrooms deserve another paragraph. There were nice and very clean. However, there were no separations between men and women
