The empanadas and dates were tasty but the beef was tough and lacked flavor. I've only had bacon-wrapped dates once (I'm not too adventurous with food), and they were delicious. So comparatively, these weren't as good. Honestly, if the food was just one step higher, I'd give the joint five stars. Everyone around me seemed to enjoy their food, though, and lots of people were ordering what looked like creme brûlée. I was too full to order dessert, though. The owner came by again later to sit and chat with me for awhile - and take a shot (yikes!). Even though I was new to Amsterdam and was exploring by myself, he made me feel right at home.
