The facility is extremely well managed and maintained, and you can tell that safety and security are taken seriously, which makes it a comfortable place to spend time reading or working. I'd also like to recognize a staff member named Jacqueline, who consistently greets guests with a warm smile and friendly hello. Her professionalism and welcoming attitude make a real difference. Jacqueline could probably teach a class on customer service--she's that good. This library is a real asset to the community.

A very good community college that both of my sons have attended at one time or another. And most Sundays find my wife coming here to their Farmers Market, held in the parking lot. Much of the parking lot is currently a construction site though with a new parking structure being built, so you might find it a bit congested for the next few months. I found parking easily near the building and I didn't need a parking permit to park there. The building is very nice from the outside and when you walk inside, it's nice as well. The University building has a fitness center inside and a small dining or kitchen area on the second floor the elevator can be slow so be aware. My wife didn't enjoy her RN program here because of the way they operate but I mean I don't think everyone going to like some programs at a college. Walk around sometime and you'll notice that you'll get a much larger percent that don't return even a smile. Most of these kids are only Christian by affiliation. I know not much can be done about the way the student body is so this is really just a warning for those who may struggle fitting in and want to make new friends. You will most likely feel like an outcast, if you insist on attending the school, there will be some good teaching and classes but there will be a tons of hypocrisy so you have to gird up and take it and constantly remind yourself why you are there and press on. There will be racism and holier-than-though peeps and you won't make the cut to join their groups, but hopefully you'll find a friend or two that are truly trying to walk in Him as you press on in your studies. For those that are naturally likable, you'll be just fine. There's some truth for you... You decide.

We got a chance to speak to the woman who owns the home and she explained that someone had come by recently and made a significant donation. The box is on a family's front yard, located closer than I expected to their home. It's just 3 or 4 doors from Lyons Ave so it's a very convenient stop in case you're looking to quickly grab something to read on your way to wherever you're goin'.

It looks like a cute fall read and to keep in the spirit I grabbed one of the fall drinks a pumpkin chai with almond milk and the pumpkin cold foam on top (btw it's dairy). I swung by after picking up my daughter from a sleepover and gave she and a friend a few minutes to peruse the selection. The best part was that we had recently cleaned the garage and I had a half a dozen books to give away in the car with me. So now a full LFL became a positively stuffed, almost can't close the door LFL. I think that's exactly the condition they're supposed to be in.

This awesomely colorful Little Free Library was just packed full of books for the 8-15 year old…read moreset. A wide variety for both girls and boys. It even included the true story of a woman who became a CIA agent. So far the book is terrific. The author is applying for the position and is amazed not by the rigorous interviews and not by the lengthy polygraph but by the extraordinary amount of her pee the department seems to want. So take the kiddos, go for a walk and discover something wonderful to read. And be thankful that no one wants your pee.

This fantastic Little Free Library is purpose built for the little folks. It's the perfect height…read morefor little readers and is packed with books, DVD's and even a little wallet. I had a chance to talk to the owner and she explained that for many years there were as many as 30 kids under 10 that lived on this cul-de-sac. The owners built the LFL as a service to them and loved the fact that they'd occasionally hear little voices out in the front yard making discoveries and deciding which books they'd like to take home. The kids are older now and many of them have moved on. So the library doesn't get as much use as it once did. But the owner explained that her adult daughter has autism and has taken the library's curation tasks on as her own. The fact that the responsibility for the LFL has been passed down to another generation is just beautiful and it's made even sweeter for me because we have friends who live just a few doors down with little readers who are the perfect age to enjoy it.
