Thus far, it has left a lasting impression and presented itself as a welcoming community, amongst students from an array of backgrounds. If things work on my favor, I'll complete this within the next year and a half or two years. Lastly, this library, is a great spot for independent study and focus. There is a small cafe, called Dominguez Den, where they serve coffee and pastries, a great snack, after a few hours of study.

It's very quiet and there are no children screaming, or people with substance abuse disorders like at the public libraries. I am not a student, and they do not ask for ID to enter. I have studied on the 4th floor and it is very quiet. Plenty of outlets. WiFi is good. The bathrooms are clean, and even smell good. I am a ucla alum and have also studied at usc, and because these have older buildings, the bathrooms are not as nice. Both ucla and usc's bathrooms smell bad and are not clean. I park on Victoria street for free parking, and the library is only a short walk away. Just be very careful crossing the street because drivers don't seem to want to stop even when you turn on the pedestrian crossing flashing lights. They need a street light here so cars are forced to stop at a red light.

From the moment I…read morearrived, I was warmly welcomed by the staff, who took the time to share the rich history of the landmark, including stories about the Bixby family. Walking through the home and gardens truly felt like stepping back in time. There's something incredibly special about being able to see and feel how people lived in the past--it creates a deep sense of connection and nostalgia that's hard to put into words. For me, the visit was also a moment of reflection--appreciating the lives and efforts of those who came before us, and how their contributions shaped the world we live in today. In such a fast-paced, modern era, it felt especially powerful to immerse myself in a place that preserves history so beautifully. I even remembered visiting here as a child, and coming back as an adult gave me a whole new appreciation for it. It's more than just a historical site--it's an experience that invites you to reflect, learn, and reconnect. I highly recommend visiting. It's a beautiful reminder that Long Beach is full of incredible history and hidden gems worth exploring.

It was once a sheep ranch, cattle ranch, and even serves as an extension of our public library archives for local history. Entrance is free. Parking is free (and close to the entrance). There are volunteer-lead tours as well as printed maps to help you navigate the property. If you're planning to visit I'd set aside a half hour for everything. Bonus tip: they host events.

There are multiple tables and work areas to use and almost every table will have an outlet attached or within reach. They do not allow any food in the library but drinks are okay- I bring in coffee or matcha without any problems. Reserved rooms are for 2 hours but the wait can be a while so sign up early! The remaining areas are pretty quiet to work in but it does get louder than library noise from 3-5pm on weekdays when the students from the nearby school come in. Bathrooms are clean and it feels pretty safe. Definitely would recommend anyone who needs a place to get their work done.

I enjoy how strong the AC is in here and the staff are also very friendly and informative. I was assisted by the male staff here who gave me great tips especially with handling multiple library cards!! (I had to open a library card here as I didnt have one for this branch!) There's outlets everywhere, even next to chairs, which are super handy. Reminds me of my university library with how modern the lighting and furniture is, but way cleaner!! Lots of activities and clubs too over here such as Lego club or Chess club. Just gotta pay attention to the many flyers being displayed around. The hours here are pretty good and the Wifi speed is pretty handy. I don't really pay attention to how loud or quiet it is in here since I usually just keep headphones/earphones on.
