We live close by so we come here quite often and love this place. Service and food are consistently good. Definitely recommend the barbacoa!

Stumbled on this restaurant and SO GLAD we did! I ordered the chilaquiles plate which came with eggs, refried beans, and a wonderful cheese stuffed chile. My partner ordered a chorizo plate, with refried beans, and potatoes; both were absolutely wonderful. Spice and salt levels were on point. I usually judge a Mexican restaurant by the beans and this place did not disappoint. The coffee was also unexpectedly good as well! The service was great, and waitress was Spanish speaking only, so glad I knew enough to get by. Flour Tortillas were fresh and fluffy, table salsas were tasty. The ambiance is humble, nice, and clean. We are definitely going back! Oh! I was able to pay by scanning QR code from the receipt which was very handy. read more

The little hole in the wall places can either be a hit or a miss. Well in this case, it was a hit. I called my to go order ahead of time, but still had to wait when I got there. But that's ok, I went on a weekend when it's their busy time. However, I will say their beans were on point!! I love a place that gives good beans. I eat here 2-3 times a week because it's across the canal from my office. $3.99 - $4.99 lunch specials, and it's more than enough to fill you up. Tacos, flautas, enchiladas, rice, beans, chips and salsa are all great. Think I'll just have to go back today. Every time I go in, I see people eating Caldo and it looks great. I don't know why I haven't ordered it yet, I just keep forgetting too. Fast, friendly, not good at English but who cares, it hits the spot and my Spanish sucks and they don't make fun of me, just try to help correct it. So lunch and a Spanish lesson in one, hell yeah. read more

Well, I ordered breakfast tacos as I always do the first time I'm at a breakfast taco place. I ordered Potato&egg, Chorizo& Egg, and Carne Guisada tacos. Oh, and my coffee. The flour tortillas were hot and fresh and very fluffy; just the way I like them. I didn't like the Potato&egg taco since the potatoes were too soft;almost like they used a baked potato or similar. Taste was ok but not a consistent flavor;the potato and egg just didn't make it for me. Left most of it behind. The Chorizo&egg taco was much better. Not exactly how I like it with more egg than chorizo but it had a great flavor. The Carne Guisada taco was not in my favorite brown colored gravy but rather in the traditional red Mexican gravy that some restaurants like to use. Meat was very tender and juicy and full of flavor. I truly enjoyed this taco and the Chorizo&egg taco. I'll be back to try the rest. I gotta keep tasting everything. The flour tortillas alone are well worth it. I'll be back tomorrow. read more

The carne guisada is good but the rice isn't that great nor are the tortillas or the lemonade. The price isn't bad for what you're getting though. But I've had better. I ordered a beef fajita gordita and asked the waitress if it was served plain. When she brought it to my table I noticed it had cheese so I sent it back. She returned it sans cheese but I still didn't like it though. read more

Have been here a few times and overall great experience minus the friendliness. Service is good because they keep up with refills. The food has always been good. Today I got the Mole enchiladas and they were nice and hot. My daughter got the Flautas special plate and enjoyed it as well. Again, overall a great experience. Just not too friendly. Even thanking them severl times they just walk off with no response. Other than that I would recommend this place. read more

Wow, what a spankin' deal. I was looking for a tiny hole in the wall while passing through town and found this perfect little spot. I asked for a bacon and egg taco and a migas taco. I couldn't believe they were both $0.99. At the price I thought they would be skmipy but I was completely wrong. These tacos were both extremely delicious with crispy bacon and the migas were made with some large colorful corn tortilla strips, and BIG. The flour tortillas were just enough to contain all the food they put in there. What a deal. I will go back any chance I'm in the neighborhood. read more

Very good food, very low price. San Antonio has a lot of tex-mex, light on the mex. This is good Mexican. I'd definitely eat here again.

I've eaten here many times but I've only tried 2 dishes. The combo with mini tacos, baked potato, beans and drinks for less than 7, and the Mexican enchiladas. For the mini tacos I always ask for al pastor. It's always juicy and has the right flavor, and the baked potato is big and has lots of cheese. The Mexican enchiladas are not the kind you find at a Tex mex restaurant, instead they are made with red tortillas and queso fresco. Over all it's just a hole in the wall place with very good and affordable food. read more

I went to this restaurant because of their menudo and I was not disappointed a second time. The bowl of menus is huge for the price and packed with flavor it was delicious, but that's where the flavor and the good food ended. My wife ordered an al pastor gordita and a carne guisada taco. The gordita tasted like nothing but grease and the meat was greasy bland. The carne guisada seemed as if seasoning was attempted with chili powder but missed the mark and tasted more like flour. My mother had a barbacoa taco and asked if it was all meat. The server stated it was but would have the cook squueze it extra. The barbacoa was not all meat, and for you south Texans you know what that means, it had all the grease of the entire boiled head so it was super fatty and greasy and bland. The sweet Tea was good and the service was courteous. I may give it another try for other foods but if not at least I know the menudo is tasty! read more
