My family has been regular customers of LaCocina for twenty years or more, since their small restaurant was in Mills. We recently placed a take out order. I was really shocked at the price of 5 dinners and asked why the price was so much more. The waiter said that they were making their meals bigger, so they raised their prices. The meals weren't any bigger, and our entrees were missing the lettuce and tomatoes that they usually come with. I am not so sure we will be returning. :( read more

I concur with some of the previous posts, in other words this isn't the real enchilada, not even close. I didn't have high expectations, as it looked a bit sketchy with a dated coffee shop decor. The beef taco I was served was like no other taco I've ever had, the shell was fried and puffed out, while the beef was simply ground beef, with a pile of lettuce, cheese and salsa. The Chile relleno was hidden under a pile of cheese and sauce, there was far more sauce, it was hideous. The service was fine. The problem is the quality of the food, as well as the recipes seem to evoke the kind of Mexican food only found today in carnivals or at some random cafeteria. Taco John's (apparently a regional fast food chain) actually has far better cuisine than La Cocina could dream of. C'mon guys you can do better. read more

We went to eat lunch here and we were very impressed with the food and service. The waitresses were fabulous the food was great and more than enough for one person. Very clean environment and great place to go read more

One of the better Mexican restaurants in Casper. Staff is nice, prompt and their food taste delish!

Amazing green chili, large portions. Consistently delicious food. Try the green chili burger

Let's start with... I'm at a Mexican restaurant in Casper Wyoming, the central hub for Mexican food. That being said dripping with sarcasm. The chips were probably really good, 2 days ago. They were stale. I asked my server about some of the dishes on the menu. He could really only tell me the diameter of the plate and high the food was piled on it. When my order came out it looked like slop. Soggy greasy mess. But it didn't taste awful. But it wasn't the best. I've had twice as much, for half the price before. In better places. Btw... The server would always ask me how I was doing. Which was good to get the attention. But you should to my table and ask. Versus yelling it across the room. Half the time I wasn't even sure if he was talking to me. Just weird read more

Stopped by this place on the way through Casper seemed to have decent reviews, however our experience was quite poor. It took at least 20 min to give our order then another hour to get our food by time it came you could tell it had been sitting there for her server was extremely slow and the food was so-so at best. My suggestion look somewhere else read more

Great food and service! The specials are good. They have breakfast/brunch on Sunday. Locally owned and the family loves to eat here. Enjoy! read more

We had a really pleasant experience at La Cocina. We checked into the Days Inn and headed right there--not expecting too much. But we were greeted by a very friendly waiter (whos family owns the restaurant), served chips with salsa & beans (yum), and had an overall great meal. If I find myself in Casper, WY again, I would definitely go back!! read more

For a person with a wheat allergy, there's too much here that is wheat-laden, that would not be in a proper Mexican restaurant. Tacos and enchiladas made with flour tortillas. Flour in the sauces. They did make me something that was wheat-free, and it was okay, but would have been more flavorful with a sauce that I could eat. read more

Has been a long time favorite of ours in Casper. Food and service are always good. I wish they would go back to the old menu though. The prices have gone way up and they don't have the selection they previously had. We will still dine here, but probably not as often. read more

This was a pretty sub par place. We stopped here because we were starving and everything around us was closed on a Sunday in Casper. It was mediocre ingredients and the service was...odd. The waitress was in such a hurry (even though it wasn't that busy) that she dropped water in the salsa and it splashed me in the eye. Though that's not a big deal (though it did burn like a mother...) she just walked away. Didn't say sorry. Didn't ask if I was ok. read more

Service is great, I wish I could say the same about food. I got the worst enchiladas I have tasted in a long time.

No amount of good wait staff and hosting can overcome the slowest kitchen in town. Got seated, got drinks and chips, then sat for an hour and a half with no food. Been happening here more and more lately. Used to love them before they moved to East E St. read more

WORST MEXICAN FOOD & CUSTOMER SEVICE EVER!!! After reading reviews, we decided to try this restaurant. We were promptly seated. Greeted by our server almost too quickly so we didn't have a chance to even look at the menu to see what kind of drinks were available. The server came back too quick to see if we were ready to order. She seemed almost impatient- which we overheard later that she was off as soon as we left. We didn't get any suggestions on ordering which was frustrating since we were from out of town. Received our food. Server did not refill the chips. The guac was not very good. My salad was lettuce, a cut up chicken strip, about a teaspoon of cheese and a few pieces of tomato. Not great! The fajitas were ok definitely not great either. It was really a bad experience based on the customer service and the subpar food. If in Casper, I would avoid this place. A fast food Mexican place would have been better! Gave one star since that is the lowest option to give to be able to write review read more

This was probably the worst margarita I've had in my life! I left half of it after forcing myself to drink after the first sip! The refritoes, red sauce and chicken cheese enchiladas were very good. The rice was one mushy mess. Someone should tell them that mashed avocados and chunks of tomatoes do not guacamole make! Would never return. read more

The #1 place in Casper for Mexican cuisine! I am a regular, and will be until they kick me out or close their doors. The service is always top notch, and the people are friendly. Keep up the good work! read more

Excellent food and great service!! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for authentic Mexican food!

They have the best deep fried tacos I've found. I try to go there every time I'm in town. The retried bean sauce with the chips and salsa is a bonus! read more

Just had a delicious lunch! We ordered the Beef Taco Salad, Chicken Avocado Salad, and the Fajitas Taco Salad. Everything was amazing! Would definitely eat there again. read more

The food was good, the service was great, and the atmosphere was very clean. The chips were thicker than usual, and I loved the bean dip. I had the smothered bean and cheese burrito. Good eats!!! read more

Great food and good service. We were visiting for work and came in with a big group. No problem with individual checks. Most important, Excellent Mexican food. read more

Service was great, food was bathed in a salt bath, needed lots of ice tea to wash it down.

The service was great and the food, especially the pulled pork, was amazing. Would highly recommend.

Very good food and fast efficient service! Terrific margaritas and huge portions. Great traveling stop.

Service was great food is pretty good. Lots of food in the portions. Great queso dip! Lots of different options to dip chips in.

Hidden gem. Staff was inviting and the food was very good. The chips with salsa and beans were excellent.

Had the pepper jack chimichanga and it was amazing and filling. Service was also great. Waiter was very nice to our 8 yr old and constantly checked on us. read more

First off the service was great! I ordered the carne Asada plate and it was ehhhhh. The seasoning on the steak was pretty good but a little over cooked. The rice was some of the worst Mexican rice I've tasted; mushy and bland. That was the theme of this place: bland. read more

Friendly staff and average+ Mexican food. If you're into Margaritas, however, go somewhere else.

Came here a couple of days ago. I ordered Carne Asada. It was not good at all. The meat was obviously boiled and drenched in parsley or some kind of herbs. Spanish rice did not taste like it should, tasted like plain rice. My husband ordered the Indian Taco. When it came out it looked more like a Tostada. He didn't eat much of it.... would not come for a 2nd return. read more

Food wise, our favorite Mexican place in town. I only deducted a star because of their choice of location. It seems they are situated to cater primarily to interstate travelers. Unfortunate. This is a non chain, local restaurant serving very good food, so it should be in the downtown or better yet, the Old Yellowstone District. My family would go more often if it was more centrally located. read more

Wasn't impressed with the food. I had a taco salad, which basically just had ground beef on it with minimal flavor, even after adding their house salsa. My sister wasn't impressed with her dish either. The crushed ice was the best though! read more

I have been eating at this establishment since it was located at in Mills. For Wyoming this is the BEST Mexican food ever. The staff is always wonderful and if I ever have any questions regarding anything, all I have to do is ask. The owner is a great person and cares about not only his business but paying customers as well. After reading some of these reviews today, I was a little disturbed to see some of them. If you want real Mexican food, then go to Mexico or Texas...and if you don't care for this atmosphere then don't come back. Jim I think (along with 70 or a 100 of my friends) think your place is awesome...Keep up the good worl! read more
